SABnzbd+ SickBeard CouchPotato Plugin/Installer for v5b11+

Making a directory on for example /mnt/disk1/somedir will not work.  What you need to do is make a user share and set the split lvl, then unRAID will use all avail drives you tell it in the user share setup.

Then you will wan to use something like /mnt/user/apps/sabnzbd, that dir will be created and accessible across your entire array....

then in SAB you can setup categories and split up your collected even more - I use separate categories for each tv show so SAB puts them in separate dirs etc.

I store SAB on my cache drive, that way the array can spin down, otherwise sab will keep it spun up.  My data/install dir is /mnt/cache/.sabnzbd, and then my categories use /mnt/user/sharename with the split lvl set as needed.

by using a . as the 1st char of a dir name, will cause the mover script to ignore that dir so you could use for a cache drive /mnt/cache/.apps/sabnzbd, /mnt/cache/.apps/couchpotato etc for your different app dirs.

Myk

I am still new to unraid so hopefully someone can help me, In Sabnzbd I want to set my data directories to be located on  my array, I can easily place them in /mnt/disk1/somedirectory but if that drive fills up I will be SOL. How can I set the data directories to be on one of my shares?

Thanks in advance

Edit.... Ok..I think I figured things out. I noticed that if I create a directory on disk1 it automatically becomes a share, thus even though I specified disk1 the data wwritten to that directory will still get spread out amongst my other drives if needed..

Instead of using a period in front of folders, simply create a Cache-only share. I know Plex has issues with hidden folders.

4.x versions if I remember correctly don't have that option - hence the reason I went with the . solution

If you specify disk 1, the data will always be written to disk 1. You must specify /mnt/user/sharename/ for it to spread out amongst the other drives. Alternatively, you could specify disk 1, then also set the min free to something above what you think your data directories will need. With sab, most users have it set to automatically move certain categories to certain shares, like TV shows get moved to a TV share automatically, same for movies, if this is the case, the data directory only needs to be big enough for say....2 movies. If you usually download blu-ray images, you could set the min-free to 70GB, most images are on average 30 GB, so thats 2 images plus 10GB overhead.

Be aware though, there does seem to be an issue with plug-ins, atleast these three, that when the data directory is on the array it stops the array from mounting as the plug-in is initialized before the array can come up. I think by pointing to disk1 instead of /mnt/user/sharename/ would overcome this problem, but not 100%, I haven't been able to duplicate the issue myself.

And MyKroft, you are correct, 4.x versions do not have the option, BUT, these plug-ins are not for 4.x versions either. I think its best, if using a 5bx version, to use a cache-only share. If for nothing else, uniformity if a user currently or in the future will run plex. Plus its nice to have the share exported for quick management of the data/config files, :)

I myself personally use the cache drive for ALL apps and don't have array startup/shutdown problems because the cache drive is outside of the array.  If you have a cache drive I STRONGLY suggest that users setup and use it for data dir etc then in SAB use categories to to split up your collection - but set your shares to use the cache drive, then they will be moved to the array in the middle of the night.

I have used this setup since day one and have never had 98% of the problems mentioned in this thread....

+1 for an influencer fork

+1 influencer fork as well... dude got all my stuff up and running and i'm extremely grateful

couchpotato v2 doesn't work very well in my ios browser, can't add movies... anyone have any tips?

I use SABNZBD 0.6.15 on my unraid 5.0beta12a server. Is there a way to get files with German characters in the filename extracted and named properly? Like: Kunststücke, schönste, Lärm, Großstadtpflanze. At the moment these charachters are just deleted, so you get:Kunststcke, schnste, Lrm, Grostadtpflanze. I tried the Special character switch, but that makes matters only worse. Is this an issue with SABNZB or unraid Linux, filesystem or Samba settings?

That I have no clue about, I've never had anything with German characters, ill look into it though.

There is a fix for Sickbeard, you'd have to wait until I get to my pc to upload it though

Thanks!!!

can i ask you again....i am sure it was answered before.

when sickbeard asks for  update, must i run it or not?

last time it broke my sickbeard and my sabnzbd

It shouldn't break your plugins but something might have changed with Sickbeard to cause the issue. Id have to look into it.

I'll try to update tonight and see what happens. I know it updated without problems in the past

Thanks everyone!  Starting to understand how it all works now!

So, I only installed couchpotato about a week and a half ago (pre-fallout), but I get issues where the array does not start properly (constant "starting..." message). Anyway, sab an sick (non plugin) start up fine, couchpotato does not. If I disable the cp plugin and re-enable, it seems to work, but it also seemed to forget my library settings, and either way, this is far from desirable. Any advice?

(status of CP is "Status: STOPPED")

Thanks

Definitely in favour of Influencer starting his own fork, and preferably his own thread as well, this one is a joke at this point. No idea where to go to get up to date versions, I currently have SAB, SB and CP2 not working and have no idea who to ask about it or when there may be a fix. Influencer has always been great around here at fixing peoples problems and updating accordingly, from what I have read the way things have gone down are really poor. Whole thread should be scrapped IMO, Influencer can start a new one seeing as he's the one that everyone actually appreciates and hopefully the 3 most used plugins for unRAID can get back to some stability.

Just my opinion.

EDIT: Thanks to Influencer for the temp SAB fix. Kind of illustrates my point. Still can't get SB and CP2 to install :/

The way you have Sab and Sickbeard installed starts the plugins after the array has started from the go file, plugins run before the go file and sometimes it happens before the array can start. This creates the /mnt/user directory, so when the array tries to start the directory exists, causing your issue. Try changing your directory from /mnt/user to /mnt/diskx with diskx being the actual disk your directories exist on. This should work around the problem until a proper fix can be put in place

Links are down.

Links are down.

Could you elaborate?

If your talking of the links on the original post, yes, those links are down, hosting has lapsed. If your talking of another link, let us know which so we can fix it.

i was just about to post it too, link is down (original post, sabnzb)

can you fix it?

I need a working link :(

As far as I know the current versions are on WWs git (unfortunately) although Influencer has released a fix for SAB a couple of pages back.

I have got SAB and CP working now, but can't get SickBeard to install, no port appears on the settings screen and clicking install doesn't do anything :/ no clue what has changed, all working perfectly a couple of days ago!

Thanks for the swift response.

My settings were install directory in : usr/local and my data directory in  /mnt/cache/.custom/yadayada.

I would've assumed that these directories wouldn't suffer the issue you mention, but I'm giving it a bash with an install directory on the cache drive.

Thanks again

You are right, you shouldn't be suffering from that.... Work all day today but if you don't have results by then we'll try to figure it out.

If you have or can have a monitor connected to your server reboot and look at what the console says when booting. It's likely cp is getting an error, just gotta figure out what
