Likewise, I think it would be intuitive to tie Community Apps into /Docker/AddContainer

I love that idea. Thanks

This is mostly an improvement idea, but I figured I'd throw it out there and I'm not sure if it's not already implemented like this. I think it wasn't, the last time I added a plugin, though. With new plugins requiring manual approval for a while now, I think it'd be fair to list them at the beginning of "Recently Added" when they actually get approved and are visible within CA, rather than when they were first discovered by CA. With the manual approval progress, a new plugin essentially has almost no chance to be at the top of "Recently Added" or even visible on the CA front page at all, with the amount of not manually approved new Docker containers, between the time it was first discovered and when it's actually approved and listed in CA. This would help increase new plugin visibility, keep things equally fair and reduce pressure on the CA moderators as well, I hope. 😆

Yeah, you're correct. Hindsight is always 20:20 Going forward I'll get that changed.

Hi @Squid - I'd like to suggest a possible enhancement to CA regarding pinned apps. Maybe there already is a way to do this and I just am blind or haven't figured it out -- but I have 300+ pinned apps, I would like a way to hide (or remove the pin) of all the ones I have installed without having to do each one individually since there's a page refresh every time. On a related note, it would also be awesome if one could select multiple ones at the same time (similar to Previous Apps), and Unpin them all at the same time.

My sincerest apologies if this has been addressed before, I couldn't find any reference to it.

@Squid is there a possibility for a function to filter specific devs against that flood of duplicated stuff in the CA?

That would be great!! I'd like to set a filter as well.

Best suggestion right now would be to edit /config/plugins/pinned_appsV2.json on the flash drive.

Your idea is a good one, but likely won't make it into the code base for awhile

okay, that was a good one D

but can we get an answer to our suggestion?

I had a flash drive fail. After creating a new drive from a backup, transferring the license key, and updating the key for the new drive I realized I needed to upgrade Unraid. After upgrading unraid, the apps tab quit working, "downloading of appfeed failed". I have checked DNS settings, time settings, and anything else I could find tin this thread https://forums.unraid.net/topic/120220-fix-common-problems-more-information/page/2/?tab=comments#comment-1101084 , still no app feed. I have removed and reinstalled the community applications plugin as well, still no joy. Plugins can be updated from the plugins tab and docker containers can be updated from the docker tab. AWS, Docker hub and github are all reachable.

I have come to the conclusion that there is something wrong with CA 2025.06.04a.

Reset the router, no change. Upgraded pfsense, no change.

Swapped to second ethernet port, swapped ethernet cable, swapped to a different port on the switch. None those made any change. Switch is non managed consumer model, so nothing exotic going on there.

All of the above was done with docker turned off and vm manager turned off.

I can download the files in a web browser and they come down rather quickly, couple of seconds.

After more flash backups and restores that I care to think about, this is what I found.

Went back to known working backup and started over.

Unraid 6.12.14

CA 2025.01.12 works

CA 2025.06.04a  app feed fails

Unraid 7..0.0

CA 2025.01.12 works

CA 2025.06.04a  app feed fails

.

Unraid 7.1.2

CA 2025.01.12 works

CA 2025.06.04a  app feed fails

New install 7.1.12 with trial license

CA 2025.06.04a  app feed fails

Anything else I need to try let me know.

I have a working system now with the older CA plugin, pretty happy for now.

That would be for the "auto update apps" plugin, not this one

I've lost access to the Community Apps plugin. I got notified it needed to be updated, so I did, and it failed, and now I get this. When I try to install it, I get the 2nd.

You should try updating the main OS and see if that resolves it. I recall a similar issue in the 6.x branch when I had been holding off on updating - CA had an update but it failed and wouldn't reinstall even after I cleared the package off the flash drive and rebooting. Updating to the latest OS resolved my issue then.

Reboot, upgrade Connect, just for safety reboot again. Then install / update CA. There was an issue with an update to Connect a while back that caused this

I'd love to see the debugging from the older version of CA running on your system.

But, as for come down rather quickly:

2025-06-15 21:30:31 DOWNLOAD https://assets.ca.unraid.net/feed/applicationFeed-lastUpdated.json Time: 3 RESULT:

string(44) "{

"last_updated_timestamp": 1750036127

}"

It took 3 seconds to download 44 bytes. The primary feed aborted after 20 seconds. The backup server with a longer timeout aborted after 45 seconds.

I'd try setting static DNS addresses in Settings - Network Settings of 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, and don't run Unraid through pfSense as a test

Having a similar issue a Coogan, but I can re-install

"Download of appfeed failed"

......

Last JSON error Recorded: Syntax error

set up static DNS (google & openDNS)

Can reach github/aws/docker from within network

Time is correct

Have rebooted, removed connect, rebooted, installed CA, rebooted - no luck

Removed CA & almost all other plugins, shut down, installed CA - no luck

Downgraded from 7.1.4 > 7.0.1 (last known good point - no luck

Advice?

CA log, diagnostics from before & after downgrade

DNS servers are static

IPv4 DNS server 1: 208.67.222.222

IPv4 DNS server 2: 208.67.220.220

IPv4 DNS server 3: 68.94.157.1

When I said rather quickly, I was referring to access those files via a web browser.

https://assets.ca.unraid.net/feed/applicationFeed-lastUpdated.json

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/AppFeed/master/applicationFeed.json

I have since upgraded Unraid to 7.1.4 with the same result,

CA 2025.01.12 works

CA 2025.06.04a  app feed fails

Bypassing the pfsense box would be a last resort, my modem is in passthru so I would have to reconfigure the modem to allow me to bypass the pfsense box.

additional information

@Squid Looks like last update github had issues, some files failed to download, resulting in a bunch of plugins including CA itself to be blacklisted.

Dunno if that'll self-heal or you need to manually restore them once done... i guess there are some checks to add 😁

EDIT: Yup, not fixing itself

Edited by Kilrah

Yeah I'm also having the same issue seeing applications as blacklisted.

Yep, same here too.

I have the same issue.
