I'm trying to empty Disc 8 (4TB) with a view to re-formatting it............. As you can see from the graphic, I've got 7TB of empty disc space selected, but it says I haven't got enough space. December 12, 20178 yr Author Hi pm1961, You selected server as a whole, so the plugin tries to transfer every child files/folder as a block. The issue is that server contains a single folder (BluRay Movies) that is 3.01TB in size, and you don't have any disk with nearly 3.01TB free. Instead of selecting server, drill down (click on the left arrow) and select BluRay Movies directly. This way it will transfer the folders below (each separate movie) which should be a more transferrable 40/50GB each.

December 13, 20178 yr Author Hi LakersFan, If it got to that point (planner.go:505,506), it means the planning stage has completed. How is it getting stuck in your case ? Can you try again and show the browser UI after this line has been written to the log ?
December 14, 20178 yr It stops doing anything after this. The only way I can escape it to get the log is if I refresh the page. But once I do that I can’t click the MOVE button. Note the icon on the top right still moves as if it’s still working.
December 14, 20178 yr Author Can you try it on Chrome from a desktop and open the developer console to see if it shows up any error ? Can you send the log file (/boot/logs/unbalance.log) ? (pm if you want) Are the S.M.A.R.T. stats for this disk ok ?
December 15, 20178 yr Okay, thanks for the help. I opened in Chrome and opened up the developer console. I had several errors. Also attached is my log. Disks are all okay... I would like to add that in Chrome, I start PLAN, it still stops (as in the picture in my above post), however I am able to click MOVE. Once I do, though, it takes me to the transfer tab and won't let me click anything from that point. (The transfer tab states "No transfer operation is currently on going.") Nothing is transferring. December 15, 20178 yr Author Ok, so the client side of the app is crashing due to receiving too many progress messages. But, there would still be an issue: Looks like you have 16,000+ files under the Pictures share. unbalance will execute a separate rsync command for each one of those files: rsync -avPRX "Pictures/2011-01-01 - fileA.jpg" "/mnt/disk4" rsync -avPRX "Pictures/2011-01-01 - fileB.jpg" "/mnt/disk4" ... This creates overhead on the transfer/history screens and the history file. The transfer/history screens can be fixed, but your history file will grow considerably. If you still want to use unbalance, consider creating a folder under Pictures (for example, collection), and moving all your files under this folder. This way when you select Pictures, it will create a single rsync command: rsync -avPRX "Pictures/collection" "/mnt/disk4"

December 17, 20178 yr Attempting to merge a bunch of video files...from /mnt/disk3/media/anime (2TB free on this disk) to /mnt/disk2/media/anime clicking proceed...it flashes to a empty transfer page. Then did even smaller groups (1/3 the size)...same thing Kept going down till i was doing 3-10 series and they would transfer fine. Seems something is up with total size.....20GB is max I can seem to move. Anything higher will generate the above issue. Issue 2 Gather > Select Folder > Choose Target drive > click Previous It never goes back and loads the screen. The 4 bars on the top right is showing activity but it never does anything. Refreshing the window is the only way to get back. Issue 3 Gather > Select Folder > Choose Target drive > Click on Gather again > Select folders > Click Next Same as above....never finishes loading the screen and the 4 bars show activity...but nothing happens. December 17, 20178 yr Author Hi Urlryn, Issue 2 and 3 seem to be navigation issues, I'll take a look. Thanks for reporting them. About the first issue, size shouldn't really matter. The error is unusual, it comes up at a point where the information sent to the server is basically folder names. Is it possible your folder names have unicode characters (tilde, etc.) or similar ? I would need to know the exact data that gets sent to the server, but it would need a new build of the plugin, which I can't do at the moment. Let me know about the folders, see if has something to do with it.
