[Support] binhex - Plex

I just updated Plex container an hour or two ago, now my docker will not start, and if I start it manually, it starts but then stops. This has not been a problem until the last update.

Anyone have an idea why?  Binhex plex-pass is my docker....

Bill

Did you pull the log on Unraid when you tried to start it?  If so see what the error messages are.  That would likely help identify the issue.

Hi, Need little help!

I posted here too

I cant get PLEX DLNA to work, I have it set as Host mode and DLNA enabled in Plex settings, No matter what I do, I cant see Plex DLNA on my windows PC(s) or Oculas VR headsets.

i wasnt able to get any help on discord, reddit, or here for this. i was only told that i needed to forward all the ports from plex. its a big list of ports that i enabled in my router but it did not help. the only way to see dlna is to change out of the custom network but then it breaks all the apps that connect to plex.

Did something change with Plex? I'm trying to setup a new plex docker, totally fresh. I can't find the part where you claim the server anymore. It's like it isn't even running. Logs look normal as far as I know. I'm must be doing something dumb. I'm having issues with both the plex and plexpass dockers as well as the offical one. Is there some new/special way to claim the server? The webui seems to just redirect me to the plex online content with no server.

I managed to claim my server, but boy was it weird. Following the instructions for the post linked below I ran the curl command at the console inside the docker. After that I was able to access the webui and do the setup. I'm guessing you have to use claim tokens for new servers now? IDK...

Any idea what IP or URL Plex uses to check for updates? Maybe it can be blocked by the router/firewall...but hopefully not block other Plex services.
Nope no idea, tbh I really wouldn't worry about it, if someone in your family screws up and presses the update button in the Plex ui, then simply left click container, edit something, set it back to what it was and click apply and you are back to working.

Not 100% sure if this is a plex issue but seems to be stemming from plex. Starting about 2 months ago or so if I attempt to use subtitles while watching anything from my server through plex the entire server will crash. I have figured out this appears to only be the case if streaming from original quality. If I have it being transcoded down this is not an issue.

I am unsure how to get logs of this happening since the logs seem to reset when the server reboots (this is most likely ignorance on my part in how to save logs). Any help in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated since I haven't been able to figure it out on my own for a while now.

hi

i can't update some music files since a few days, i don't know if this is related to this https://forums.plex.tv/t/stopped-adding-new-files/836924/37

it works with jellyfin, so this is not my files, my naming strategy is the same as others albums, my tags are good

in plex server, theses directories are "empty" !?

i got this in the console

2023-04-27 19:36:03,413 DEBG 'plexmediaserver' stdout output:

Network types question.....

I have sab and nzbget for downloading usenet isos.  I have my main NIC on my host routed through my Unifi UDMP to connect to a NORD VPN interface.  Works perfectly.  I have a second NIC bridged and Plex is using that to get and keep a remote connection.  I know I'd prefer to leave plex as host, but I can't get it to work properly and the remote connection will not succeed if I don't do it this currently.

I'd scoured the internet trying to figure out VLAN'ing with UnRaid, tried multiple things; one nic, two nics, one nic with vlans, about everything I know how and I'm lost.  I found a forum post about multiple networks for a container, but unfortunately  it didn't work.  Plex actually seemed to attach to the post argument field and not the network type listed.  Is this supported?

Basically what I'd like to do is have a network connection to a custom network with all my other containers (overseerr / sonarr / radarr / etc) that is ran through my Nord VPN host connection, but also have a separate connection with unrestricted access so I can connect to Plex remotely.

Any guidance is appreciated as I'm lost on next steps here.

Hello,

Docker has been working great without hiccups. However GPU transcoding is not working anymore, worked flawless before, but i swapped mb, cpu and memory to get my LSI 9300i card to work, due to PCIE lanes limitation on my old system. I am running Latest: v530.41.03 nvidia driver. I cheked so i have correct GPU ID, --runtime=nvidia and value it set to all. I have literally not changed anything software wise other than regular updates.

Go to Community Applications in the unRAID web ui and search for Plugin 'Nvidia Driver' and install it, then reboot host.

Go to unRAID web ui/Plugins/Nvidia Driver and make a note of the GPU device, it should look something like this:- GPU-02ff3633-4f22-c4d6-2c15-654ff33a321e

Go to unRAID web ui/Docker tab/left click Plex container and select 'edit'.

Click on the toggle for 'advanced view'.

Go to 'Extra Parameters:' and set it to --runtime=nvidia

Go to variable named 'NVIDIA_DRIVER_CAPABILITIES' and set the value to all

Go to variable named 'NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES' and set the value to the GPU device found in step 2.

Start Plex container.

SOLVED: For some reason it's not supported on chrome on IOS, where i usually test,. faster than using the app :P

So I've managed to successfully get plex working via reverse proxy with swag and authelia. But now I can't access it from the local network, only the reverse proxy. I've noticed before the network type is set to host by default, and if I made it bridge there would be no access to plex. To make it work with swag I have the network type set to a custom network. I assume this is why I can't access via local IP address anymore. But why?

As a second issue, I'm trying to figure out how to make remote access work through the swag reverse proxy. Can you help at all with this?

I have tried to follow spaceInvaders video but I must be doing something wrong, I've also tried to follow some instructions on Reddit but again I get nowhere....

Sorry to be such a noob, but can someone point me in the right dirrection please.

Plex database corruption is sadly quite common, so no worries about asking for help, your options are (in descending best order):-

1. Restore the Plex database from CA backup and restore (plugin)

2. Use the database backups from Plex built-in Scheduler to roll back - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/202485658-restore-a-database-backed-up-via-scheduled-tasks/

3. Repair the database **

** I have written a bash script that attempts to make the procedure for repairing SQLite databases more user friendly, its based off this article:- https://support.plex.tv/articles/repair-a-corrupted-database/ If you wish to give the script a go then please let me know and I will show you how to use it.

I have tried replacing it with the database/blob backup it takes itself all the way back to two weeks but same error. Plex was working fine the day before yesterday so I am not quite sure what is going on if those backups don't work either.

UPDATE: I have replaced my DB files from a week ago and pulled the older version :1.32.0.6950-1-01 and I am back up and running. No idea what has caused it but will wait a couple of weeks before attempting to go latest again.

Hi all,

I'm hoping that this is an easy fix or something i over looked. Either way i appreciate the your time to look at this.

I've been running the docker image binhex/arch-plex:latest for many years without issue and i have my docker containers setup to automatically upgrade when there is a new version of the image.

At some point over the past several weeks the "latest" build is now failing on start up with the following errors..

This is the error after which the server stops and it tries to relaunch.

Quote

Unable to set up server: sqlite3_statement_backend::prepare: no such table: metadata_agent_providers for SQL: update metadata_agent_providers set online = 0 (N4soci10soci_errorE)

I've been able to work around this by not using the "latest" docker tag and using this version of the docker image

Quote

binhex/arch-plex:1.32.0.6973-1-01

So, i'm up and running now but over time this image willl get more out of date. Is anyone else seeing this with the latest image? any pointers to get this resolved would be greatly appreciated.

All the best,

-Tiger
