luckyBackup syslog entry

hi there,

would you help me with some luckyBackup automation?

The tool sends log eMails ok, but I would prefer reading things in the UnRaid syslog (just as everything else). Basically everything that is currently put into an eMail could occur in the syslog file. Plus a link to the curresponding log file.

Unfortunately I am not good at linux scripting and logging so I need some help here please.

If I was to misuse the eMail function for this, what command / options are best?

BTW: I believe summarizing actions into the syslog would be a nice feature in general.

Many thanks in advance.

luckyBackup -- backing up system unraid system from USB stick

hi there,

I am currently using luckyBackup for saving my unraid installation. The aim is to being able to completely restore the system if needed.

The appdata and docker folders are stored ok, but the initial system's backup from everything on the USB stick throws tons of warnings and errors.

Any ideas on how to set this up correctly.

Many thanks in advance!

by not using "7" as source ... from Docker point of view would this be everything INSIDE your Docker including ALL mount oathes etc ...

so rather think about it what exactly you want to backup and what your path is (source)

also read the docker template about root access and so on ...

EDIT: I created my own. New problem is that I can't link 2 of these InspIRCd servers. I have added the correct <bind> <link> and <uplink> but no luck... Any examples available for me to try?

Sorry, InspIRCd server is now deprecated, I forgot to remove it from CA.

Any alternative? It's missing libssl1.1

I managed to install the latest libssl1.1 and I am able to connect both TLS/SSL and unsecured from a client. I am still trying to figure out how to link 2 servers. Anybody been able to accomplish this? I have swag and managed to create paths accessible from InspIRCd and can successfully connect to 6667 and 6697 from The Lounge web IRC client running on the same unRAID server. All I'm missing are valid <link> and <uplink> which I haven't been able to figure out.... Any help/advise would be great. Running version 4.7.0

All good and working now. I was using xml format but slash was erroring.

Debian-Bookworm container:

is there a environment variable that we can use to change the container port number for the VNC server?

(I know that I can change the host port. however, I use this with the network of another container, where there is another container already using port 8080...)

Inside the container?

Yes: RFB_PORT

Thanks it worked out.

hmm that was premature.. RFB_PORT does not seem to work (RFB_PORT: 8283):

NOVNC_PORT seems to be the correct variable, can you confirm?

Hey guys, thanks a lot for you help. I could solve it by reinstalling luckybackup. Have a nice weekend

Ups sorry yes, that‘s it, you only have to change the RFB port when you have two noVNC container from me in one container network.

[false alarm, resolved] luckyBackup ignores files to sync after renaming

there are 3 of 5 new files in a newly created folder that are ignored during sync process.

Theses three .jpg files were created new and renamed with names taken from another folder. After that the files were again adjusted (date contained in the title). The other two .html files were synced ok (files are on disk, the others are not).

I experienced in the past that files were ignored but I cannot tell any circumstances.

I would be glad if we could solve this puzzle.

More information would be good, what files, are you running luckyBackup in root mode, do you have any exceptions or inclusions defined in your task, to what type of medium are you running the backup to?

Sorry, just found out that this obviously is a mover but no backup problem. Backing up the shares instead of the array disks to get around this.

Thanks anyway.

I'm having a bit of trouble with RustDeskServer-AiO.

The ports are forwarded to my server, but I don't seem to be able to connect from outside of my local network.

On the remote device, I have the ID Server and Relay server set to rustdesk.mydomain.com, and I set the public key.

When I try to connect to my PC that is local to the Rustdesk server, I get a connection error: Failed to connect via relay server.

On every attempt to connect, I can see the New relay request in the RustDeskServer-AiO logs.

This is just a DNS only CNAME through cloudflare. I'm guessing I don't need reverse proxy for this, so I didn't bother adding it to Nginx.

Local connections work fine. I just can't connect from outside of my local network.

Any idea what's going on?

update: I think I fixed it. I found this to be the solution: https://www.reddit.com/r/rustdesk/comments/1d9td6u/comment/leg2nid/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Usually it is enough to just connect with:

mydomain.com (as long as it points to your public IP address).

Exactly.

Please make sure that Hair Pin NAT is working properly, this could be also be a reason why it‘s not working.

@ich777 with the last update of rustdeskAiO the server key suddenly changed without notice

did you know why and how to prevent this from happening again

If you edit the container then there are two variables called Rust Desk Server Parameters (one for relay and one for server) and they're pre-populated with "--key _". I erased the underscore and pasted the key that was generated into both fields. I was able to restart the container and the key remained the same according to the container logs. I couldn't find an exact definition of what these variables are for, but it's possible they're used to make the key persistent. I don't know. I guess time will tell.

Can you please go a bit more in detail what you mean with "last update"?

The last update was pushed 5 months ago since this was the time where RustDesk Server 1.1.14 was released.

Are you sure that your Docker template is configured correctly, so to speak please check the paths in the template.
If you are using for exmple /mnt/cache/appdata/... then you have to ensure that the Mover takes no action for the appdata share and that the data stays on the cache and is not moved to another disk.
