Bags
Im keeping my fingers crossed. Im almost done with my first build and other than the Biostar mobo being doa I am ready to go minus the hard drives. I could have been up but decided I could hold off for a week to see what deals come down. $69.99 would be worth the wait if they are good unraid drives. Quote Link to comment
Mopar_Mudder
They already have this one for 79.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152245 So it might not be that great of a deal, but tomarrow will tell, I too need to add another drive. Quote Link to comment
dengar
From what Im reading the Samsung F4's arent good for Unraid. Quote Link to comment
ohlwiler
If the picture is any indication (and I think it is) the drive will be a Seagate. Quote Link to comment
Rajahal
From what Im reading the Samsung F4's arent good for Unraid. This is true, definitely don't buy a Samsung F4 for unRAID even if it is the cheapest drive available. Quote Link to comment
madpoet
What time do you think it will start? Quote Link to comment
eroz
The email and the screenshot above say 1PM PST. Quote Link to comment
kenoka
That SSD looks very tempting for my HTPC at that price. Maybe a pair of them on RAID0. Quote Link to comment
madpoet
The email and the screenshot above say 1PM PST. Ok, I skipped that part Quote Link to comment
eroz
no problem.....I didn't see it until you asked. Quote Link to comment
flips
If this is the Seagate, I'm going to go for it. If a 2TB drive goes lower on Friday or Monday, then who knows, maybe I will end up with two.. Quote Link to comment
dengar
According to Fatwallet is going to be the Seagate. Hmmm....I think Im going to get it as well. Quote Link to comment
StevenD
Sale is on! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148413&cm_re=seagate_2tb_hard_drive-_-22-148-413-_-Product&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=361116&SID=FW9c19wx Quote Link to comment
Bags
So are these good drives for parity? I was thinking about getting 1 of the 2 tb wd Ears for 99. and 2 of these seagates for data drives. I want to be able to run a torrent server and stream media out of my unraid. Would I be better off just spending the extra money for the WD drives? Thanks and sorry for posting out of the correct header. Quote Link to comment
aiden
The best rule of thumb is that your parity checks will run at the speed of your slowest drive. Reads are drive specific, so only those drives that have the data you're streaming will be spinning. Even 5400 rpm drives are sufficient to run multiple Blu-Ray streams at once. Quote Link to comment
roastdawgg
Does anyone have any comments on the newegg comment talking about this drive's error correction mode that causes it to stop responding for some period...causing problems with raid arrays? Just want to know if anyone has vested this model as compatible with unraid. Quote Link to comment
teamhood
They changed the limit from 3 per customer to 2! Quote Link to comment
BRiT
unRAID does not use the drives in the way a typical raid array does so it tends not to suffer from those issues. Quote Link to comment
Rajahal
Newegg's servers appear to be crashing under the load! Quote Link to comment
roastdawgg
Thank god for smart phones. Got my order for 2 of them in before the site got overloaded. Quote Link to comment

JustinAiken
In for one... I'd love to be in for two, but you know.... not good to get the same drive from the same store at the same time.. Quote Link to comment
