When legacy / UEFI fail to boot ( boot fail point to USB, not Unraid boot progress ), then you need different way by manual instead default - copy all file to stick - execute 1 of 3 step to make legacy bootable Change the directory EFI- to EFI if you want boot in UEFI mode, otherwise will be legacy.

For legacy boot, USB stick should format in MBR + FAT32, btw you may try all the combination with MBR / GPT + FAT32 / NTFS.

Quite trouble, those mobo seems dosen't like storage add on card.

No detection of the SATA controller, pls try different PCIe slot or verify does controller can be detect in other mobo.

You should have 3.7TB data need to copy out from the fail disk, as parity show mismatch and parity operation in very slow speed, don't consider swap parity or rebuild route. Sound interesting ITX mobo, if you use two M2 for 12 disk, 1st problem was there have some blockage with the CPU fan. As Ethoo-719 offical support 12 3.5", so these in excellent match, but overall not a compact design, so I don't think embed CPU ITX mobo was a good choice.

Change to 6Gb expander was the solution.

HP 487738-001 was 3Gbps expander, if disk connect to it, interface may run in 1.5G / 3G.

ASM1064 work well with Unraid generally, x1 PCIe 3.0 also fine for 4 spinner disk.

You can access Unraid GUI from remote, but we won't recommend just open to public internet. So, there are different method to enhance the security / protection. BTW use "Unraid Connect" plugin was one of official method, install it ( need router port open ) and use browser at remote end to access, thats all.

No problem for mix different controller.

My main storage build are x299 9800x, main reason was it support 8 memory slot ( 32GB x8 ), I setting its power limit PL2 at 66W, so clock frequency maintain to ~3.3Ghz, so far so good. It have two ZFS pool, 8 disk raidz1 and 12 disk raidz1x2. If you not need much PCIe lane and memory, then no reason to go in those platform. My 2nd and 3rd build ( not storage purpose ) are 9700k and 5600h.

Although desktop CPU have higher TDP, but if you can minimize its CPU usage / loading, it also use not too much power. Misunderstood you use Unraid in Qnap.

Amazon also have ASM1166 M2 version, https://amzn.eu/d/gpTQDIz The drawback of Biostar B760MXC PRO 2.0 was three 16x slot was 1x PCIe lane width, it will nice for NVMe and not for SATA expansion. BTW you still have one true 16x slot. ( ASM1166 were PCIe3.0 x2 native ) If you need future-proof go with B760 platform. Upgrade or new license ? Actually you don't need a new one.

Xeon E5 2699 is core / thread monster, but clock frequency turbo only 3.6Ghz, in my experience if clock frequency running lower then 3Ghz then large storage performance degrade would be expect. For consumer CPU due to less core count, in lower power governor would still keep at rather high clock frequency. So change to some less core count CPU should solve the problem. Or you could try disable half core in BIOS to check any different.

Recommend go to minpc route, if you don't need spinner disk for capacity. As you need Plex and hardware transcoding then go to Intel platform. I use Morefine S500 minipc, with 64G RAM, two M2, and two LAN to host docker only, use for home automation, CCTV and TV recording, it serve me several month well. To summarize . Docker size only ~6GB, I put them to ram disk. . CCTV ~12GB for three day, also store in ram disk and finally archived to M2. . The 2TB M2 is the storage for all, other 256GB M2 was for backup purpose, to backup appdata, Unraid USB image etc. . Zigbee USB dongle to connect Zigbee device. Really compact and power efficient ~20w, no need build/DIY. You need evaluate does minipc can fullfil your requirement, my purpose / planning have much different with you.

So your docker have use /mnt/user/*share* instead /mnt/*pool*/ ?

Base on that, it doesn't like UPS nor battery have problem, suggest turn off APCUPSD and install NUT for troubleshoot why APCUPSD will interpret the battery were fault and shutdown immediate. ( NUT can setting don't shutdown, so you can further troubleshoot ** pls stop array for safe ** ) After you disable all UPS monitoring, you can in command prompt type APCTEST to set battery date or perform selftest. And you need fix why NUMXFERS so often !!! ( Of cause, it may UPS fault )

A paper slip inside the package. 23 ? LOTRANS was 145v, so if line voltage below that, it will switch to battery.

Not relate. You should got a mfg test report in package, check the mfg date. Your problem likely because "low line voltage" and have 417 times transfer to battery. This also may be the reason why battery does not reach 100%.
