I still can't find out how he managed to open media files like  jpeg, mp4?

Just click on them.

Ofc I click, for mp4 it says unsupported view, and jpeg opens as folder.jpeg. It can open PNG without any problem. Tried to edit editor.cfg, and to add mp4, jpg, and jpeg in there, but same result.

I am using v7 beta 3.

I use v7-beta3

I am having issues trying to copy from a manually mounted device (because UD couldn't handle it) to a user share:

Invalid target

Enter a valid target

I imagine the cause is similar to this:

This device is not part of the array or anything. Any tips?

Okay, so as described here,

Quote

...copy data from disk to disk or share to share, never copy disk to share or share to disk

Bit weird that I can't copy from a isolated UD disk to a share but alright. So disk-to-disk is okay.

File operations include copy, move, delete,  rename, upload and download

Can anybody tell me how to download files from my Server to my Windows with this Plugin?

I cannot find this function?

Click the plus sign to the right and select “download”.

Started scrolling the pages here but its just too much to go through so hopefully someone has an answer to this question.

Is there no way to select multiple files at once except to do select all? Introducing functionality similar to Shift+Click in Windows would be useful to avoid having to select each file/folder individually, especially when dealing with hundreds, or in my case, thousands of folders to move.

Ahh thank you guys!

I only saw the buttons at the bottom and thought that download was missing.

Hi,

Complete noob to this and UNRaid.

Is it possible to change the port for accessing the app?

It is always the same port as accessing the GUI (which can be set under under Settings->Management Access).

Hi, everyone!

Unraid 7.0.0-rc.1

Does Dynamix File Manager support source path /mnt/<cache drive>/?

Example:

My qbittorent downloads torrents to my nvme cache drive.

When I open download folder from main tab and try to copy or move folders it will fail.

.thumb.png.3aaef17fa5131cef528cbadb46e2c4c0.png

But successfully works if I open download folder from share

.thumb.png.f62e4e5cd8b897d8b640743cf527ff9e.png

So, issue in path, if source /mnt/user/... it works and if /mnt/<cache drive>/... it is not.

So there is wrong error description - wrong source probably. Or it is expected behavior that this plugin works only in .../user/... paths?

Also one more question: is it possible to remove duplicates buttons or action menu? One of them seems redundant.

.thumb.png.f295ea46a8598128444c57167d77a477.png

And last one: I noticed very slow speed for moving folders, usually I use Krusader and when I move folders it happens immediately, but this plugin does this few minutes with speed 500-900MB, but technically it should work also immediately because currently all data on one nvme drive.

You can move from drive to drive or from user to user but must never do so between drive and user, so the plugin prevents it.

If you try to rename a file with something that contains quotation marks (i.e., "), the operation will hang.

You won't be able to fix it by clicking on the Job Running cancellation button (if it's meant to be a button), and not even by stopping the array. You have to reboot.

Quotation marks and similar characters should be properly escaped or the web form should check for "illegal" characters it cannot handle.

Maybe worth logging a bug on prerelease as it has been integrated in 7.

is there a limit when moving files from one disk to another disk?

in my experience i tied to move 2500 files @ ~1GB with only that job in the queue: the process will not start within 4 Hours.
So i tried 5000 files @ ~1MB directly, with the move button: does not start within two hours. It says "Running..." but in both cases the CPU is not really doing anything and the disks will spin down since there is no activity. The dialog box can't be recovered and on the bottom there is no status indicator. I've read through this entire topic so i checked /var/tmp/ and there is only a file.manager.active entry the other two are not present.

running UnRaid 6.11.5 (Stable)

and DFM 2023.06.01

i just don't get it, this would be an at least noticeable job for the CPU just regarding the parity operation part and the drives would also show at least some use since the file table probably needs to be "established" before moving but both are not showing any sign of use while my ram is also only at 12% utilisation.

additionally the files are not being accessed by me or docker and no mover or parity operation is running

Both of these are so ancient that there's no point even trying to answer the question.

I can attest I've encountered this same issue while running 6.12.10.

Interface just stays at 'Running' forever. If you minimize it will disappear, not go to the bottom bar.

If I move a fragmented file from one disk to another with the file manager, will it be written sequentially to the second disk?

Hello. I'm unsure if this is a Windows quirk or not, but when I copy files from an UD to the array with dynamix I can see three "files" being written to the share in Windows Explorer. When the copying is finished I'm left with a singel file so it seems to work? Is this normal?

I'm also observing about 3x times higher reported write speeds (120 MB/s) on the disk (/Main) than dynamix is reporting (40 MB/s).
