[Plugin] CA Appdata Backup / Restore v2.5

I will thinking about that. But IF this feature will come alive, only for the new Appdata.backup plugin.

This would be amazing.  Currently my Duplicacy backup has to upload ~70Gb to my S3 bucket every time I backup my appdatabackup folder remotely.  I've been considering writing a user-script to extract all the tar backups into individual folders ahead of the Duplicacy backup to reduce the load on the network.  Having that functionality native to the plugin would be better/cleaner.

I keep getting this error while backing up my docker. Any idea how to fix this?

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm getting a lot of

tar verification failed

errors in the log after my first run (switched from old plugin just last week). Some of the containers don't have the errors, but most of them do.

Not sure what if anything I can do to resolve these? I am also confused about what the previous errors referred to in the due to previous errors statement is.

There is a new thread for the new plugin. Follow plugins footer link to get there.

However: I would need a debug log, please share and tell me its ID.

  • 4 weeks later...

Is it only folders that can be excluded or can files be excluded as well?

  • 1 month later...

I just wanted to say "THANK YOU" to whoever made this thing.   It (and you) really saved my bacon this week.

My Cache drive (SSD) blinked out of existence this week, and your backup/restore plugin had me up and running in less time it took me to install the new drive.

THANK YOU!

I i make a restore on a new unraid server.

After Restore i have a Bug 57 /mnt/user/appdata cache Error.

The restore push the data in  /cache/appdata but in the new server there are no cache devices. How can a Fix that?

  • Author

That would need manual extraction then. The restore function copies the contents at the same oaths as they were during backup. The restore function needs a bit more love to be able of this in future.

OK thanks.

I downloaded and unzipped the tar.gz files, renamed the cache folder to user and uploaded the whole new package back to unraid and restored the backup.

This refers to a container called "nextcloud" and you don't show settings for one.

The best I can do here:

start with the basic things: share a whole log (or share via share debug log feature).

What caugh my attention is that just after I hit Backup I saw a lot of message in the terminal delete files xxxx.

In the web notification I got this message.

CA Backup: 20-11-2024 12:38

appData Backup
Backup of appData complete - Errors occurred

In the Log I found that command

Nov 20 12:00:16 SERVER-DAN CA Backup/Restore: Using command: /usr/bin/rsync  -avXHq --delete  --log-file="/var/lib/docker/unraid/ca.backup2.datastore/appdata_backup.log" /boot/ "/mnt/user/Public/" > /dev/null 2>&1

Is that

Which exact plugin name and version do you use?

please make a screenshot from the config page.

Appdata Backup/Restore v2.5

I can't because as of now the server is dismantle and I scan the drive with UFS explorer

  • Author

I bet there is some config error. Please post your settings

  • 2 weeks later...

HI

since I did upgrade to the new version, I do not known if the settings is still the Same. I was able to recover 95% + of my data with UFS explorer.

Thanks

+1 for this- in order for Duplicacy to work efficiently, it needs to be able to access the individual files so it can avoid duplication of any files that it has already already backed up. With both of the current settings (.tar.gz/.tar) it is not able to do this as it does not have access to the individual files.

Could we please have a 3rd option to not have the files placed into an archive/ archives and just have them copied into an individual folder for each docker?

Many thanks

this will be amazing for sureee i have the exact problem

Errors like "File changed as we read it" or "Contents differ" (during verification) tells you, that some files are still in use. Post here (with your log) in that case.

I am running unRAID 6.9.2, can I install this? I tried to and I get this (even after a restart without starting array):

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 8192 bytes) in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/community.applications/include/helpers.php on line 48
