March 6, 201313 yr Well, that seems incredibly obvious now that you mentioned it...not sure how I missed that. Anyway, problem solved. I changed the credentials and the updater now sees the plexpass release. Also, in case you were curious, updating did solve my problem with the Roku. I updated manually last night and got it working. Just reinstalled the updater plugin again now. Luckily this plugin system makes it all pretty easy. Thanks!
March 6, 201313 yr The updater doesn't seem to grab the latest build of PMS even though I have given it my plexpass credentials. I'm having trouble with playback on my Roku and I'm hoping that updating to the latest PMS will solve it. I'd actually prefer to stick with the updater, but I have even stronger preference for a working Roku... Updater found the update for me: Status: INSTALLED with version: 0.9.7.15.458-5e46c91 even though I have given it my plexpass credentials It's not your plexPass credentials but the username and password used in the forum post: UN = ******** PW = ********* Hmm, now everyone knows the username/password to the exclusive plexpass releases area... Makes no difference if you know as all you can do is install it. The server won't work properly as you have to sign into it with your personal plexpass credentials. Shooga is fixed now anyway, so i'll remove it. Same goes for desktop client.

THinking about buying the new 3rd gen, which has just been announced.

So, can use those credentuals with Plex updater to get the plexpass release? Does anyone know if it helps with the busy drive issue, which prevents the drives from spinning down?

March 6, 201313 yr Well, I haven't paid for Plexpass, and it works with the version downloaded with the above mentioned credentials... Just tried with the Android Plex client, and it streams video just fine... Good stuff, it might just be the premium features then... I recall it happened to me with PlexSync until i logged in. It's not exactly life threatening, top secret, super squirrel otherwise the credentials would change on each release. Enjoy!
March 10, 201313 yr I've just read this http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/42513-0963-for-unraid/?p=357631 So Plex for unRAID has no maintainer!
March 13, 201313 yr I can now confirm that the issue where my drives would not spin down was caused by Plex. After upgrading to v0.9.7.16.461-9823e24, my drives spin down like they should. This was weird because it looked like it was samba / smb shares keeping them busy, but it was Plex.
March 14, 201313 yr how far were /are you behind ? i am running since a few hours Status: RUNNING with version: v0.9.7.17.469-1f0b170 this plex updater plugin is a handy thing for that
March 16, 201313 yr Is anybody having luck with PMS recognizing deleted media and refreshing the library? I'm using RC11 with the latest PMS and when I delete files from my user shares, PMS does not acknowledge it? Doing some research it looks like this has to do with folder mtimes. Is there a solution/workaround that anybody has found to work?
March 18, 201313 yr Hello, Was hoping someone might be able to help me with this issue I'm experiencing with Plex. Everything is working perfectly. PMS is on unraid and my HTPC is upstairs running WMC and PMC. I also access Plex wirelessly throughout the house. So my issue is that when I go to access, say, TV Shows from any of the devices, the disk that houses that folder doesn't spin up. I get a 'waiting for response' message. If I access unraid from the browser and manually spin up the drive, it works fine. Any suggestions or thoughts on why this is happening? Thanks.
March 19, 201313 yr Well, it appears that changing my Library to a non-hidden folder (as recommended) fixed this. EDIT: NOPE, nevermind. Still have the problem. Any ideas?
March 23, 201313 yr evanl81 - What version of UNRAID are you running? What version of PMS? Do you have a cache drive?
April 4, 201313 yr My unraid server has been running great, until yesterday. There was a new release of Plex, PlexMediaServer-0.9.7.22.511-4b5280f-unRAID.txz. After I upgraded, I lost the webgui. The only change was this Plex update. I had to use the command line to stop samba, umount the drives, and then to stop the array. I then issued the reboot command. After it came back up I had the webgui and unraid started a parity check. Within a few minutes I lost the webgui again. I'm now waiting for the parity check to complete (although I'm not sure how I will know it's done). I will then put the prevous PMS version back and reboot again. I think this latest PMS version did something to my server. Oh, I can still access my data, just lost the webgui. Anyone else having issues with this recent PMS version?

I'm running 0.9.7.22 and have no issues. On a side note, whenever I have installed an update via the updater plugin it downloads and installs Plex just fine, but it also causes the unRAID webgui to hang and become unresponsive. Performing a clean shutdown (via the unMENU powerdown script) and reboot fixes the issue. At this point I only use the plugin to provide notice of an update, but I do the update manually from the command line.

April 4, 201313 yr Ok, thanks. I will do a clean powerdown / reboot and see hot it goes. I'm just waiting for the dam parity check to finish. BTW - even issuing the "/usr/local/sbin/emhttp &" command doesn't help. root@Tower:~# /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & [1] 31772 root@Tower:~# given I have no webgui, I will have to issue the Shutdown command via putty.

I've read here that trying to relaunch emhttp is futile, it will not work. Do you have unMENU installed? I use unMENU to initiate a shutdown whenever the webgui hangs, as unMENU always seems to keep working. There is a powerdown script under user scripts. It will do a clean powerdown assuming you have the clean powerdown script installed (either via unMENU or the apcupsd plugin).

It has a little note, bottom left of screen. The page will automatically refresh once the entire process completes. Can take a couple of minutes, depending on Internet speeds at that time. I stop plex running Run the updater Start plex again Works for me every time.
April 4, 201313 yr Are you both giving it enough time to download the update? It has a little note, bottom left of screen. The page will automatically refresh once the entire process completes. Can take a couple of minutes, depending on Internet speeds at that time. I stop plex running Run the updater Start plex again Works for me every time. I've let it sit in excess of 10 minutes, which is plenty considering the update downloads in under 30 seconds. The new version is installed and running as verified by the plex webgui. The unraid webgui never refreshes and is totally hung at that point. If you try to navigate to a different part of the unraid webgui, same thing, it's hung. That said, I never stopped Plex before running the update, I just assumed the plugin did it. I'll give that a try next time there's an update.
April 5, 201313 yr For me, the updater stops plex, updates it, but never fully refreshes the page to confirm the bottom left gives me notices for when it is downloading, and then when it is checking md5. Finally it just says OK. . . the webpage is still technically "loading" waiting for a new update. But it doesn't hang. If I click on any links on the screen, it still works. But I have to open plex in another window just to confirm that the new version is indeed installed and launched before I navigate away from that page.
April 7, 201313 yr Anyone have any idea what happened to the Plex link: http://plex.r.worldssl.net/PlexMediaServer/0.9.7.22.511-4b5280f/PlexMediaServer-0.9.7.22.511-4b5280f-unRAID.txz It is dead in the water and I can't get the old one installed now... anyone have a copy of the txz file? -- Update looks like Plex is completely dead in the water, or more so worldssl.
