I've been able to use the automatic docker conversion in the past successfully.  But recently I've tried several dockers and the conversion seems to work, but the docker never starts.  I get no log file, nothing.  It just doesn't start.

The latest one is: https://hub.docker.com/layers/kosdk/powershellcore/latest/images/sha256-0bd0c264854a6e83e063c3bd943fb68d590ca0cdd192c5dd6ea797ae8a956465?context=explore

I'm trying to get a docker that I can connect to and run power shell to test some things.

How do I go about trying to debug why none of my conversions actually work?

thanks

You can execute powershell commands inside the container using docker run -it kosdk/powershellcore pwsh

You run it from the command prompt.

Try from a command prompt

rm -rf /tmp/community.applications

and then reload the Apps page

If it still fails, Apps, Settings -> Enable Debugging.

Get it to fail and then click "Debugging" and upload the resulting file here

I am the founder of Home Assistant and have made our image available on the Unraid community app store since the beginning. Now today I looked at the apps section and I see that another Home Assistant build is marked as official? That is wrong. How do I get that addressed?

Yes it did stop working.  Thanks....

Yup confirmed, also noticed no containers showed as installed right as the update notification came up, that's good too

Hi,

big fan of unraid and CA so far.

But please avoid messages like "Happy new year" and so on.

Or at least allow people to opt out or better have a opt in.

Thank you

I think there are other things to worry about rather than being upset because someone says "Happy New Year"

The message is not the point.

That any kind of messages are posted or presented is the point, without subscription or opt in / out option.

I view that as a more intrusive option to someone's time compared to simply hitting an "x" on a banner message.  I'm operating on an assumption that the greeting is sent with the same mechanism as the update notifications.  Since this is a community driven project, if you'd like to see the subscription or opt-in/out methodology, maybe submit either as a feature request or possibly look at the source and see if there's a mechanism that could be leveraged or write a module and provide it back to the community.

Since it's a minor action to click the close "x", in my opinion, I don't think it would justify the lines of code to enable/disable notifications based on say "holiday" criteria vs. update notifications.

Or just do not do it :)

Maybe add an option here for "Allow greetings and birthday wishes".

As CA isn't part of the paid base Unraid software, but the work of people who volunteer their time and skills to create this plugin, perhaps the option is to uninstall it from your system and write your own plugin that meets your expectations?

I am having a weird problem when trying to install CA. Hoping someone here can help solve it.

When I install CA on my unraid I get a network failure. Got the url of the file from the log and tried to clone it from the console and got an "Could not resolve host raw.githubusercontent.com. From the same console, when I ping the url it resolves and ping succeeds.

Appreciate any help in solving this.

After banging my head against multiple walls, I finally figured out that the Indian government has asked all ISPs to block raw.githubusercontent.com

Heavy Sigh!!!

Any other alternative methods for me to install community applications?

Idea being, once I have this installed, I can then use a VPN to install other plugins.

Why can't you use the VPN to install CA?

But, to manually install

Save

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg onto the flash drive in /config/plugins

Create the folder /config/plugins/community.applications on the flash drive

Save https://github.com/Squidly271/community.applications/raw/master/archive/community.applications-2022.12.29-x86_64-1.txz within that folder

Reboot

Should be noted that if your government is indeed blocking this then it will also be impossible to install ANY other plugin via CA.  I'd personally play around with attempting to use a different DNS (eg: OpenDNS servers 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220)

community.applications-2022.12.29-x86_64-1.txzcommunity.applications.plg

Thank you @Squid for your help. I managed to install CA.

Indian ISPs use SNI based blocking, changing the DNS doesn't help. Using a VPN or DoH seems to be the best options.
