So this is by design? I liked the option to see more results for "New Apps"...

It's never been there on the startup pages.   You can do all apps and then sort it accordingly

I could have sworn it was there before but sorting "all apps" works as well. Thanks!

Have the same isue as many others here.

No data was returned. It is probable that another browser session has rebooted your server. Reloading this browser tab will probably fix this error

Unraid: 6.8.3

CA: 2020.08.22a

Server is behind a proxy, proxy settings are set in go file and work.

Can someone help me?

tested all the things but nothing helped.

Any aditional suggestions?

Assuming that it's the proxy causing the problem (and not a reboot being required as the message states), then I'll have to work out a script tonight for you to run to let me know how the coding needs to be adjusted in CA to handle your needs.

I will need you to post (or PM) your go file (/config/go on the flash drive)

thank you for your help.

the post above helped me.

That's the same link that I sent you to originally.

Can almost guarantee your flash drive dropped offline   use a different port ideally USB2.   A reboot will also be required

Your server is not being able to reach the internet.  Try setting static DNS addresses of 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220.

Sidebar: I'm working on why you're seeing this particular error, and not the one which is supposed to be appearing 🤔

@SidereusAquila, I've moved your post to

as it's a general support issue and not CA related per se.  (Although I did release a CA update to test a partial resolution to at least one of your issues)

Hi everyone - I recently started seeing this message when I access my Apps tab, and my Docker tab is missing entirely. I have a general sense of what the error message is saying, but have no idea how to fix it and would really appreciate any help!

Either you've inadvertently deleted /config/docker.cfg from the flash drive, or (more likely) your flash drive dropped offline.  Try a different port, ideally USB2.  A reboot will be necessary

Oh damn I didn't realize I needed to keep the flash drive in the device permanently - I took it out last night to install a Windows10 bootable for another computer. Will I be able to load it with the default unraid bootable files and have it work? Or will I need to re-install the Unraid OS and start my server over from scratch? Unfortunately, the contents of the flash drive have been deleted and overwritten, with no backup.

Thanks for the help.

Oh man... well, in theory the usb WWN should be consistent, so remaking the bootable drive will keep your license. In reality though, some USB drives (the cheap crap I’ve played with at least) don’t provide consistent WWNs - as crazy as that sounds to me coming from enterprise storage land, I saw it with my own eyes or I wouldn’t have believed it.

Other than the license (which doesn’t matter if you’re just trialing), yeah, you’re starting from scratch. The drive gets very little in the way of writes, but when writes to the drive do occur, they’re important - configuration files, any plugins, anything you added from the base configuration is gone.

Data on your array *should* be fine, however. So your vms data, docker data, etc, it’s all there, your OS just won’t know about it until you reconfigure everything.

EDIT: I’d HIGHLY recommend taking a brief overview of the documentation whenever you get a moment, just to save against future heartache. I know some of it is woefully out of date, but the general principals still apply - just know that some of the specifics noted there may not be fully up to date (like specific video card details, links to super old posts, motherboard compatibility - guessing a lot of that is community contributed and has just fallen out of the “lime” light (hehe, I got {b}dad jokes for daaaays!)

Added note regarding documentation review

As you're likely aware now, the Unraid operating system lives on the USB stick.  The license is tied to that stick.  Plugins and config files also live on there.  No stick, no Unraid.

Take a note of drive assignments on the home page before you rebuild and try to replicate when setting up again.

The archives of the OS live on the flash drive. Those are unpacked fresh at each boot into RAM, and the OS runs completely in RAM. I always like to think of it as firmware, except easier to upgrade without bricking anything.

Also, the specific configuration is stored on flash so it can be reapplied at boot, and changes to the configuration are written to flash, but for the most part, the configuration is also loaded into RAM for use.

@jdlancaster13, as you can see from these posts, Unraid isn't exactly "installed" onto some other disk that you boot from later. In fact, how did you expect to boot it up again since you had presumably told BIOS to boot from flash?

Did you have a paid license, or were you using trial? Either way I'm not sure if you can get the license back without contacting support, even if you use the same flash drive.

The most important thing for avoiding data loss in your situation is DO NOT assign any data disk to any parity slot, or it will be overwritten with parity. If in doubt, don't assign any disk to any parity slot.

And, even after you get through all this and have it working again, you must always keep a current backup of the Unraid flash. You can download a zipped backup of flash from Main - Boot Device - Flash - Flash Backup.

Yep, I was just being as brief as possible to reinforce the point that the USB isn't an installer, it is absolutely required.  As we've seen here, it can not live in RAM alone...

Thank you all for this information - I didn't know any of this, but realize now that I probably should had. Unfortunately, I both re-formatted AND loaded new data onto my drive, so it looks like I'll have to contact unraid support in order to get my server up and running properly again. I had been using an Unraid Plus paid license.

In retrospect I guess I thought I had installed the OS onto one of my drives? However, when I think about it for a second that doesn't make any sense - where else would the OS live? I won't make this mistake again 😅
