[Support] binhex - Plex

Is this where I come for support with Plex in unRaid? I don't think I installed the binhex version but I didn't see a support thread for the official Plex docker. I don't know the difference in the binhex version and the official version.

I'm having trouble getting Remote Access to work correctly and I know that I've forwarded each port that Plex uses correctly in my modem settings. I had Plex working on a Windows server prior to moving it to unRaid and I had the same port forward rules setup for my Windows machine. I have the Plex docker setup as "Host" network type so it should be using my server's IP address. Can someone help me get the remote access working correctly? I think its causing all my clients to connect indirectly.

This just show how the rules above are defined in the modem/router.

Now i have a question that i have not seen befor and dont see anyone talking about it.

I'am using live TV and i can see 98 channels and when i pick them all and say save it comes back with 67 is there a HARD limit to the number of channels you can have

as you can see i have now 106 but only 67 that i caN USE? HELP

Can you click on the "67 enabled" link, then select the unchecked stations?

IIRC, if you do a rescan, Plex only selects the channels that were selected during a previous scan and does not automatically add any new ones.

binhex-plex will not start

Different container works

Hi everyone,

My binhex-plex docker instance is about 3 years old and has developed several glitches I've been unable to resolve. My Live Tv experience with Homerun HD frequently drops out, the DVR guide refuses to accept my paid guide xml and I cannot access the PMS logs. I've tried repairing the database but nothing has changed.

I think I want to start my server over from scratch but i'm not sure how to do it and not totally clear on what I would lose.

1. What is the correct way to 'delete' my PMS docker and start from scratch?

2. What would I lose by doing this?

 - Watch histories?  Can I reload them from Tautulli?

 - Collections? I assume they're linked to the Libraries wihch would be lost.

 - Connections to other users?  Or is this linked to my username (Plexweb)

 - Server name? Can I reuse my old server name? If not, i assume I'll have to reshare new libraries with all friends

 - Friends' watch histories? Are they stored on my server or their clients?

3. Is there a smarter way of resetting a plex server without taking the nuclear option of starting from scratch?

Thanks

Hey everyone! Yesterday I started having networking issues where I would manage to access my server in a minute and lose connection in the following. That was fixed after a router reset, but that problem seems to persist for Plex, but only when accessed remotely. I'm using binhex-plex latest release on Unraid 6.12.4 and with plex network set to host.

I've looked thorugh both the container logs and plex logs themselves and I'm not noticing anything obvious, but I'd be happy to post them here if that enables you to look into the problem further. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Hi. Does anyone know what's causing this? My plex won't start up. The issue has happened over night. The day before I also updated unraid straight from 6.12.10 to 6.12.13 however there was no issue with plex after my server rebooted, only now. I tried to start the docker from the UI and I get an error "Execution Error - Bad Parameter"

I'm having a hell of a time installing plex.  When I get one feature working, another seems to stop working.  I;ve had my docker containers disapppear, get errors like 1001 when trying to play my 4k movies..

Having some issue claiming my server. I am running container from few years back and it didn't have claim variable. Added the variable as same as the binex container in the community app store. still unable to claim the server. what's my next step?

I have had a strange occurence where my PLex server will not start - I am getting a libusb_init failed.  Plex log file below and Diagnostics attached.

Please advise.

Thanks

having some serious issues getting this to work. i was following a trash guide and now i can even access the plex manage page. I'm getting a about:blank#blocked and the port mapping area is blank for some reason. Let me know what config files you might need to help me get straightend out.

Thank you in advance!

I am troubleshooting/testing an issue and I went to install both of binhex's plex dockers, neither of them will provide an IP address.  Did he abandon them?

This is expected, Plex runs in Host network mode not Bridge

So this has happened more than once. As far as I can tell, nothing in my appdata has changed, but binhex-plex has forgotten my Plex server's information. As a result, launching it asks me to set up a new server and have it find all the media and generate the metadata and invite everybody all over again. I've tried to put a claim token in, but it doesn't bypass the server setup page.

How do I force it to recognize the existing Plex server?

My plex was updated overnight and it stopped working. I can still go to the web page but the server is gone and I'm welcomed with Your home screen is empty message,

This happened to me a couple weeks back.  I updated Unraid to 6.12.13 and Binhex-plex just stopped being able to see itself as a server.  I've been able to make it "reappear" by deleting everything from appdata and reinstalling the container, but then it will not let me claim the server, and then it disappears.

I've resolved to running Jellyfin in the meantime, but I did like Plex more when it did work.

Hy guys. So i need a bit of help. I changed my gear a bit and afterwards i installed Plex binhex edition. Got everything to work, except my Haupage 4 dvb card. I tried everything, adding a new device, an old answer in this thread of adding --device=/dev/dvb/ in extra parrameters, i could not get it working. I installed the dvb driver, went with the libereelec version, i can see my dvb tuners in the dvb drivers page. I even ran, in plex(binhex) terminal the ls /dev/dvb, and my tunners appeared, but they would not load in the plex server settings, under dvr and livetv. So, after reading a bunch of post, from the plex section, from the dvb driver section, i uninstalled plex binhex, installed plex linuxservers. Now, by doing this, adding extras parameters for nvidia and vor dvb tunners, it works. My only grief is that the transcoding works on some movies, not on all - with an erros that says that something went wrong. I even waited for my media to load with everything - also read i can get errors while the libraries are updated. With the Binhex edition, transcoding worked perfectly, not a glitch, after some settings for transcoding. I even got my plex(binhex) installed on a ssd, so the media would load faster(pictures, trailers, etc.). My question is: Has anyone found a setting, or something so that i can make my plex(binhex) to see the dvb card in the plex tab/app/ip settings, or what settings/workaround is the for that the plex(linuxserver edition) to stop giving me errors when i try transcoding? If you guys say i should post this in a different part of the forum i will and i ask for your help because after5 years of linux/unraid i think these forums are filled with people with great knowledge. Thanks in advance, and sorry for taking up your time. If there is need for more information, I will give it. Thanks!

Sorry for repost, i first asked in the plex linuxserverio thread.

I have removed and installed Plex about 6 times.  I WinSCP'ed in and deleted everything with the word Plex in it in my mnt/user/appdata folder.  Each time I install and try to open the webUI I get this:

What do I need to do to make this work again?  Thank you for any help you can give me on this.  It's driving me nuts.

this looks interesting, post screenshots for all your settings for the container - left click plex icon, click 'edit' then select 'show more settings' at the bottom and then screenshot all the settings and post here.

Could be a space before the uuid

I figured it out from another post.  I had to put in http:/XX.XX.XX.XX/:32400/manage and it brought me to my server.  Now, when I launch the WebGUI, it just works.  Very strange behavior.  Have never had to do that on a re-install, but hey, it worked.  Thanks for the follow up.

New user here… I’m getting this same error and when opening plex it’s just a blank page.

It does not seem to be a db corruption. I followed the instructions and there were no corruption or fatal messages in the Plex Media Server.log. I tried the fix under Q5 anyways and it didn't fix my issue. It still opens to a blank screen using the WebUI IP address of http://10.0.0.2:32400. Tried this both on an ipad and in Windows.

Again, I'm a new user to Plex. There is no database / media added yet. I installed it today and couldn't get past the blank screen. Thanks!

EDIT - Figured it out ... I couldn't just use the webUI as is. I had to add http://10.0.0.2:32400/web/index.html to the end of it.
