OK two more test for you:

  • Set networking to default - if the networking is not set to 'bridge' then please set it back to this then test and report back

  • Try with new config - can you edit your existing container and change the host path for /config to something else, then click apply, test and report back

FYI - As you may be able to guess i cannot replicate this issue, krusader starts within 2-3 seconds for me, as i assume it does for most people.

Ok, thanks...

Set networking to default - Was already set to bridge

New config - that did it! It now loads in about 3 secs and I'm able to access remote shares... I have stopped and restarted the docker a few times and all is working!

Thanks again!

  • Well that was super frustrating but i found a way of moving the window around:- press and hold ALT then use left mouse button and you can then drag the window around and resize it correctly, once

  • The problem was that in 6.8.0-rc1  I could not access the the Flash Drive ( boot drive) from Krusader.   The reason being that Limetech has changed the permission to the flash drive when it is mounted

  • DontWorryScro
    DontWorryScro

Try navigating to the windows youd like to be your new default and then inside Krusader go to Window>Save Position

wait - do you mind sharing what you did? i'm still taking 30+ mins to launch krusader upon reboot

As a test, I changed the appdata path... in this case I went from /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader to /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader/test

image.png

Which basically gave it a clean slate to rebuild the appdata for the app. (as this might imply, it removes any Krusader custom settings - saved window settings, etc - it's like having a fresh install of the app)

This worked!

Since then, I have cleaned this up:

  1. Shutdown Krusader

  2. Delete everything inside of /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader (thus removing the original and test appdata in my case) - I used MC for this but can be done via command line of course.

  3. Start Krusader

  4. Initial load will take about a min or so to recreate the default appdata

  5. Subsequent loading has been almost instantaneous

Side note - Over 1,300,000 (very small) files were removed from the original folder! Not sure where they came from - they appeared to be cache files of some sort.

Hope this helps

is there a way to do this without removing my custom settings / saved tabs and such?

Looks like from the Krusader instructions all of the settings are in: appdata\binhex-krusader\home\.config\krusaderrc

I suspect if that was backed up, you should be fine... BUT... your mileage might vary, no warranty implied, etc, etc.

Feature Request:

Add a Desktop background with the explanation to hold ALT and move the window with mouse button if the window is off.

I came here the 3rd time because I forgot this and honestly, this "bug" is annoying ^^

Just wanted to follow up that i was able to fix my krusader to launch very speedily (almost immediately)! I backed up and restored the following files into the newly created "binhex-krusader" (i renamed the old appdata as "binhex-krusader2". I think this had to do with the # of files created inside my old appdata because when i tried copying it over to create a bookmark, it still had not copied over after even 1 hour of waiting for copy action (using MC). that's why i instead just renamed the folder to "binhex-krusader2" instead of copying to another location then deleting it.

  1. krusaderrc (Main application settings)
    /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader2/.config/krusaderrc

  2. krbookmarks.xml (Saved bookmarks)
    /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader2/.local/share/krusader/krbookmarks.xml

  3. useractions.xml (Custom user actions)
    /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader2/.local/share/krusader/useractions.xml

  4. krusaderui.rc (Custom toolbar layout)
    /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-krusader2/.local/share/kxmlgui5/krusader/krusaderui.rc

Awesome! I just curious, it appears you had the same issue as me. The number of files was extremely high. I wonder what Krusader is saving/caching?

i just hit alt+enter on the moved over appdata folder to my personal drive, it's been running for 2+ hours and it's still counting files (1.9m files so far and counting???)

I forgot where mine landed but it was over a million - all super small files...

Hi i installed this but when launching webui i get

2025-08-30 17:37:29,471 DEBG 'start' stderr output:

x.x.x.x: SSL connection but '/self.pem' not found

nevermind, find i need to reach it using http instead https

I just deleted the container by mistake, I reinstalled and it will not launch. The container starts but the GUI will not load. I made sure the ports were not conflicting with other containers but still nothing.

UPDATE: just needed to remove the "s" from the URL for the "WebUI:" so it was not trying to use SSL. (http://[IP]:[PORT:6080]/vnc.html?resize=remote&host=[IP]&port=[PORT:6080]&autoconnect=1)

Hi
i am wondering how i can get the HTTPS krusder link to work?

currently when i open the webUI, it directs me to the HTTPS. This cant be reached.
To use krusader i have to remove the S and make it HTTP, then krusader works fine

I am not sure what i have to do to make the HTTPS to work.

Thanks in advance!

I've got a similar problem. I'm running on Unraid 7.2.1 and the latest version of binhex-Krusader. While I am trying to copy many large files (about 50 files of 5-50GB, each) to an SMB share on a local network NAS system, Krusader will hang and become unresponsive. If I close the window, I won't reconnect with VNC. I can't shut the Array down to be able to restart, gracefully. I end up having an unclean shutdown, which forces a multi-day Parity Check. I've come to the point of not having faith in Krusader to copy any large amount of data.

Any thoughts?

I cannot replicate your scenario so i cannot test (single NAS), what i can say is that i have shifted fairly large amounts of data around using krusader without any unresponsiveness (200 GB+), however this is all locally (cache to array), i am not copying to an external device, so this is probably where the issue lies, perhaps try in smaller batches and see if the issue persists.

The fact hat unraid won't shutdown might indicate that the krusader file transfer is still in progress, so maybe check the destination and see if you can detect any file writes happening, if so then leave krusader for a period of time and see if it finishes and becomes responsive again.

One other thing you can look into is perhaps copying to a NFS share as opposed to SMB.

i will fix up the template to use http out of the box, as for your query if you do want to use https then you will need to generate a valid key and cert, put them on a path the container can see and configure Variable: HTTPS_CERT_PATH: and Variable: HTTPS_KEY_PATH: respectively.

I helped myself by following Spaceinvader One tutorial of Krusader.

My docker container auto-starts every time my server boots even with the auto-start option disabled. No other docker containers I have installed behave this manner. Is there some configuration hard coded that needs to be changed for this or a way to make the container not auto-start?

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice and update. Currently my install of krusader still uses HTTPS. How do i choose between HTTP and HTTPS?

Thanks,

Neil

nope there is nothing unique about the template or the image, i have no idea why that is happening.

Assuming what you are trying to achieve is to change the URL whn you left click and select 'Web UI' from HTTPS to HTTP:

Left click container, select edit, toggle 'basic view' to 'advanced view' change the 'WebUI:' protocol from https to http, scroll down to the bottom and click apply.

Thank you that does the trick! learning new things everyday!
