Hi,

I have had this problem twice since 6.6.0. Volumes are inaccessible since. I have to reboot.

diagnostics.zip from Tools/Diagnostics at time of this syslog warning would be nice.

Okay upgraded to 6.6.0 few days ago and have now downgraded to 6.5.3 again.

Problem was that the server seemed to drop Network connection at a point. I simply was not able to access it anymore.

Also had no Display here to check whats going on.

I simply could not access it anymore, but it seemed that it did not completely stopped working. I had a parity check running one it happened and i saw all the light from the HDD drives flashing, but the Server was not accessable and i couldnt ping it.

OK, i'm waiting for that to happen again. I hope this tool will work because volumes are frozen.
This occurs during a backup of a Proxmox VM to the unRaid server.

Try safe mode and let it run for a while.
It could be a incompatible plugin.

@bonienl is nerd-pack incompatible?

I saw people on reddit mention that dev-pack is incompatible with 6.6 right now

The problem with both the Nerd Pack and Dev Pack plugins is that they both have the option to install LOTS of additional software components - any one of which may interfere with unRAID. The problem will be to identify exactly which ones (or which combinations) are the problem candidates.

Updated to 6.6.0, now none of my VM works.

MacOS - no output to VNC

Windows 10 - started to boot, but than BSOD with error Disk not accessible

Windows 7 - BSOD 0x000000A5

Windows XP - infinite boot logo

I have no devices passthrough configured.

Removed all Nerd Pack packages, uninstalled Nerd Pack, rebooted, no changes.
I have tried also LibreELEC (preinstalled) VM and it does not starts up, VNC connected, but the only message visible is "Guest has not initialized the display (yet)."
There is no errors on logs.

Upgraded to 6.6, after a while the webGUI looks like this, I am still able to access my docker containers fine its just that the webGUI isn't working. This the only issue I've seen so far.

Screenshot at 2018-09-22 08-11-47.png

try restarting the nginx gui

in command line via ssh as root and run these two commands (first one takes a few seconds)

/etc/rc.d/rc.nginx restart

and

/etc/rc.d/rc.php-fpm restart

I am awaiting 2 items before this upgrade

1 - NFS file share functionality

2 - bios update on my Supermicro X10SRA-F - which requires a paid for Out Of Band node license key (purchased from WiredZone - delivery pending).  Supermicro's bios update 'policy' is oddly hostile.

I have the same motherboard and do BIOS upgrades by preparing a DOS boot disk (rufus) and copy the free flash utility and BIOS binary to the disk.

Granted it doesn't allow remote BIOS upgrades, but it does save to buy a license.

I installed with no problem everything ran great for a few hours then unraid wouldn't allow any connections from any machine on my network also couldnt get to GUI, Couldnt access shares or dockers but my pfsense vm was accessible....I had to init 6 the unraid box and upon reboot everything worked fine for a few hours and again same issue. I reverted back to previous version of unraid and all is fine. I tried updating again and a few hours later same issue so I had to init 6 the box again and everything worked fine again for a few hours. I'm now reverted back for the second time with previous unraid version and all is stable. Is there a specific log file I can get to when I update again for the third time that might help when I lose all connectivity besides my vm pfsense that I could post here to help? I did the update assistant and it said everything was ok to update just to verify it wasn't a known docker issue

Sounds exactly like my issue. After I init 6 unraid it works fine again for a few hours then same issue...I have a pfsense vm that still works and routes traffic fine but no shares or dockers (example Plex) are accessible until I init 6 again

Unless I've misunderstood, you can get to the command line.  If you can, type diagnostics

A diagnostics zip file will be put into your /boot/logs folder on the USB.  Reboot and get the file, or shutdown and put the USB drive into another machine to read it.

Will try this later..I need to update to 6.6 again

I'm reading about lots of issues with the GUI, NFS, several dockers and plugins, incompatible stuff like nerdpack, people that have errors while booting, are actually reverting to 6.5.4 because of this etc. Too much for me to get the feeling that i should update. Also, it is not clear to me at all what the actual changes are in this release, besides the GUI part (which has lots of issues if you actually read last 9 pages).

No, you'll need to boot from the DOS disk to do the flashing. I use IPMI to access the system from my PC, so don't need a monitor and keyboard connected locally

Unfortunately, I'm in exactly the same boat as IGHOR.. Downgraded back to 6.5.3 and got one of my VMs to work as before, but one (Windows Server 2016) is still showing me Guest has not initialized the display yet with one of the assigned CPU cores at 100% until I force stop it. Fortunately nothing important in this VM, but still not nice.. As IGHOR says, nothing in the logs that I can see. Let me know if I provide more info or exact log..

Upgrade went fine for the most part. I had 2 VMs that didn't want to boot but the other was fine. Looked at the configuration was slightly different so I matched them and it worked, thankfully I had that other working VM though as I don't know what changed between 6.6 and 6.5 that made that one VM not boot but its all good now. Looked at it again. Turns out i440fx-2.7 doesn't work for my VM's in 6.6, even though it worked fine in 6.5. Changed it to i440fx-2.3 and my VM's work.

As far as the GUI, it was a slight shock on reboot but only took a bit to get used to it. A few tweaks would be nice (I've read it's a work in progress)

  1.  The new buttons (red/orange) the color is fine. But they would go with the rest of the UI if the corners were rounded like every other box in the UI. Knowing this is in progress I hope the direction of the UI is not to go with square corners, personally I don't think they as nice on the UI.
  2. The white navigation/tool bar. Understandably the UI is trying to match the forum UI but the white bar on a dark theme is a bit too strong. For the dark theme it should be dark like in the previous UI. Also I think something changed in the information area in the top right (where it has the IP, name and version) As in the previous UI, I was able to read it just fine on my custom banner but now it's hard to make out. My banner in dark.
  3. I'm extremely happy about docker CPU/RAM usage making it into the GUI. (I had requested it) The issue is to see the stats, advanced needs to be turned on. Which is a lot of info trying to be displayed at the same time. Most of that info is only useful during config or troubleshooting.

I would suggest one of two ways.

1) Split the docker page into config and monitor/general info. Something like this: Screen shot

2) Put docker stats under the stats page with a tab for docker. Since this is the location for stats, it makes the most sense to me. Additionally it make it easier to allow a graph/history of stats per docker which would be nice addition. It would be nice if they functioned like the existing stats. Being able to choose the time period to display, real-time, since start etc.

Overall, great job bonienl!

Is there a better place to discuss the gui rather then the announcement thread?

Sounds exactly like my issue. After I init 6 unraid it works fine again for a few hours then same issue...I have a pfsense vm that still works and routes traffic fine but no shares or dockers (example Plex) are accessible until I init 6 again

I am having very similar issues as well.   I have tried all RC versions of 6.6 and they all drop my network connection some time in the evening.   I believe it's happening when backups are being copied to my unraid share from my pc, but I'm just guessing here.   I cannot ping the unraid from my pc.  I do have a monitor/keyboard connected to unraid.  The console looks normal with no error messages.   I log in and try to ping anything on my network and it fails to reply until a reboot then it's back to working normal with network connectivity.  When reverting back to 6.5.3 I have no connectivity issues.
