Just downloaded the docker. And have some thoughts on it.

1) Resolution option, I get 4k stuff at times, but I don't need in 4k, just 1080. would be nice if we could tell it to  go from 4k to 1080.

2) Option to clear the Completed tasks list, and or clear each list (Success, Failed) separately.

3) Force Scan - Great for testing files.

And I am trying to convert one file and failed. Subtitle issue?

Ok it does have to do with subtitles. If i tell it to not use subtitles then it works, but if I say to use subtitles, then it fails.

I got all excited thinking there was a setting I missed that allows it to ignore subtitles.  I keep the PGS English subs so I can watch movies at night in the bedroom at low volume without having to hear the Wife complain about the TV Volume being too loud.   So, unfortunately for me, all my movies fail to encode.  It's strange that Handbrake has no such issue with SUBS.....

It's your config that's the issue. You cannot save bitmap subtitle streams in a mkv container. Use Avi or something that does support it.

So how are they in there in the first place if an MKV container doesn't support it?  I remove the non-english Subs out of the MKV via MKVToolNix, leaving only the English ones behind.  It doesn't matter if the Subs are PGS or SRT, the encode still fails.

I've been using it for a bit and it's been working fine.  I saw the GPU support had been added  so I update the container config to use my GPU, but now the queue is empty and doesn't seem to be actually looking for anything to re-encode.

Even though it is set to scan on start, I had to change the scan timer to 1 minute, then it would start filling the queue after a minute.

It's not using the GPU, though.   4 cores/8 threads maxed out currently and 0 sessions loaded into the GPU.  Set to use HEVC and Libx265

I'm also not sure why LSIO tag is there.  I don't remember it being there before.

I too have the GPU enabled, but it never uses the GPU, only CPU. I have dbl checked the settings several times, yet same issue.

I take it that is a limit with your program? As everything else has no issue having PGS in the MKV. Even tdarr handles PGS in the MKV. If you can get GPU and PGS working I would perfer yours for ease of use.

It probably needs a small patch to just copy the pgs. I'll look into it at some point this month

Very impressed now I can use my 1080.

I have done 128 films in 18 hours and saved over 500GB.

Doing 12 workers at a time running 12 streams on the GPU.

3 Questions.

1. What is the maximum file size the container can handle as I have some 4K films at over 50GB and it looks like it caps 20GB per file ?

2. I pointed the container to my films and series does it do films first then series after ? That is the way it appears now.

3. Pointing it to over 60TB of data the GUI is very slow in loading is this the same for everyone else ? (3-5 minutes to load all data)

Changed my encoder to hevc_nvenc and it started using the GPU.   Got 6 streams going on my P400 now.

How were you able to make it work? I am still not showing any hardware encodes happening and my RAM is getting eaten alive with this as well as my CPU. Any suggestions? I attached some screenshots.

Did you choose the hevc-nvenc encoder inside unmanic itself? Its only going to use the GPU if you choose the right encoder.

Also while your at it can it do forced subtitles? And make it so we can reduce resolution? I have many files that are 4k,2k and would prefer 1080p. so it resolution is greater than 1080p reduce to 1080p (1920x1080) but keep aspect ratio?

Here is what I use in handbreak, maybe the ability to customize it?

'--encoder nvenc_h265 --quality 24 --encoder-level "5.1" --encoder-preset 6 --maxWidth 1920 --maxHeight 1080 --keep-display-aspect --aencoder copy --all-audio --audio-copy-mask aac,ac3,eac3,truehd,dts,dtshd,mp3,flac --audio-lang-list eng --all-subtitles --subtitle-lang-list eng --subtitle-forced

I appreciate you very much. Worked like a charm. Got 12 workers going! you just saved my RAM and CPU.

Just for reference, when I was using multiple workers, I simply saw the conversion happen at the normal speed * numbers of workers.

i.e. 1 worker takes 5 minutes per file, 2 workers take 10 minutes per file, 3 workers take 15, etc. The only difference was the increased CPU usage I saw.

Most efficient conversion for me was one file at a time and let it go.

After realizing that my mistake are why I was having problems, it's been working flawlessly.   I've converted almost 3000 episodes over the last couple days using my P400 set to 6 workers.

I do have a feature request.   The conversion to HEVC is mostly to save space, is there any plans to add stats to show how much space was saved, or average conversion time, or average size reduction?
