[Support] Linuxserver.io - OpenVPN AS

Featured Replies

I recently upgraded to 6.2 and now the OpenVPN container won't start.  Below is the error log, and the permissions for the folder/files.  Are these permissions correct?  If not what should they be?

I changed the permissions on the whole /config folder and it seems to be working:

root@shr-unraid1:/mnt/user/Config/OpenVPN/bin# chmod 777 /mnt/user/Config/OpenVPN -R

Ok, I used to be able to connect to Host network with this before the update....that allowed me to be assigned an IP on my WiFi subnet, which then allowed me to access the UnRAID GUI interface.

Does OpenVPN-AS allow use of a proxy server like PrivateInternetAccess?

Does OpenVPN-AS allow use of a proxy server like PrivateInternetAccess?

No, this is a server for you to connect to YOUR lan.

PIA requires a client to connect to THEIR server.

A reminder, OpenVPN-AS supports Google Authenticator for an extra bit of security. You can find the option as a simple toggle box under "client settings".

After that you login to your connect page, download a new profile and use the QR code beneath it to set up Google Authenticator.

Thanks! I will post below the info

Thanks for your reply! I'm just opening the pre-defined web-ui (when you click on the icon) https://10.0.1.2:943, also tried with http://10.0.1.2:943 and https://10.0.1.2:943/admin and no luck. I'm using eth1 on my unraid setup, maybe it's configured by default to use eth0 or something?

Thanks! I will post below the info

You probably need to add a variable to set the interface to use.

If you use bridge (in unraids network settings), it should be INTERFACE=br0

If you don't use bridge, then you can try INTERFACE=eth1

Hi,

Is there a way I could use pipework with this? Tried using "-e 'pipework_cmd=br0 @CONTAINER_NAME@ 192.168.1.154/[email protected]'" and turning Network Type to None but its not working  :-\

I don't think any of the ls.io guys use pipework, so you're on your own with that one.

I recently also received this error. Don't want to redeploy this at this point... has anyone found a fix? Or cause at least?

Might be helpful if you specified the error

There's a lot more but I can't paste them here, but they seems to be all the same!

For the idiot amongst us, can you clarify what this does?

If you're asking what the application does, go to the first post in the thread and click on the link to the application website.

I should of been specific. Does this tunnel all internet access from/to the server?

No, it sets up a SERVER that you connect TO.  Useful for connecting to your LAN remotely.

Ah, that's a shame. I'm looking to encrypt all traffic to and from the server

pfsense would be the way forward.  Just as an aside there is a OpenVPN Client plugin, however that's to connect to another OpenVPN server and it's very much NOT recommended to use it to connect to something like a VPN provider like PIA.

Might be helpful if you specified the error

bah hah, I meant to have quoted someone. Sorry!

The error is as follows:

/var/run/s6/etc/cont-init.d/50-interface: line 10: /config/scripts/confdba: Permission denied
/var/run/s6/etc/cont-init.d/50-interface: line 11: /config/scripts/confdba: Permission denied
/var/run/s6/etc/cont-init.d/50-interface: line 12: /config/scripts/confdba: Permission denied

Still nowhere enough for us to go on.

Notyet..

Can you post your docker run command for me please.
