What is your longest Unraid up time?

Featured Replies

Back when I was running 4.7, I had more than 2 years uptime on one of my main servers.

Nowadays I struggle to get more than 3 months before some security upgrade makes it a necessity, or at least highly advisable.

What is your longest Unraid server up time?

That’s been harder to assess lately for those of us who keep the OS updated with the latest stable or rc releases. Prior to UnRAID 6, my sever would run for months before it was rebooted because updates were far less frequent. I started with UnRAID 5 beta 14. I think my longest uptime was around 9 months. I am sure it was longer for others.

With UnRAID 6, it’s usually a matter of weeks (the server was probably up for 3-4 months on 6.3.5) before I am rebooting for an update.

Yeah- I’m sure there are more frequent reboots with all of the rc and stable releases of late.

I mentioned this in the previous thread about this very topic ...

It's close to well over a year, and then it was only because of a power outage that was nearly an entire day.

One of the earlier thread that even had an actual poll ...

I started using unraid shortly before OS 6.6 became stable.
since then, there have been a lot of stable releases, which is good!
otherwise, i would say its around 3 months... would be longer if it weren't for those great (and now convenient) updates!!!

I am currently sitting on 296 days and counting on my main machine and my other machine is at 66 days.

When was the last beta update done? 🤣

I can't resist pushing the update button as soon as the DVB version is ready - I know - I'm asking for it ...

I usually reboot server every 10 days.
No reason really.

366 days 👍💪🤘

A little more than 7 months before a power outage.

I once passed 30+ days mark, i love reboots :)

Where I live we always have blackouts so the longest i can go is maybe 1 month or less

  • 3 weeks later...

Currently, I’ve got a strong uptime of 1 month and 29 days.

  • 1 month later...

157 days or 5 months & 4 days on unRAID 6.9.2

Waiting for the electricians to knock on my door again and say that they've again killed the power by accident... :D

462 days 7 hours

  • 1 month later...

7 months, 15 days (and counting)... A bit of a miracle in some respects.

I'd be less than a month without the UPS -- 7 (outages) in the past year.

My saving grace (maybe) is setting up most security (reverse proxy, etc.) via router -- a level/machine BEFORE Unraid services.

Update:

Just want to add (as I track "problems") that I'm finding more "things" are caused by applications that have nothing to do with Limetech. Of course, no one would use Unraid (a pure file system?) without the other applications. It's still running as expected.

Over two years, then needed to add some ram. Upgraded OS and was up for 266 days before needed to look at something on the board a few days ago because I'm planning an upgrade.

Gotta love supermicro server grade hardware.

So far, 89 days, 21 hours. I recently built it too, I think it's around 160 days old. Pretty sure I rebooted for an update of some sort.

Many, many months when the time between unRAID releases was much longer than it is now.  With just a few exceptions, all my reboots are for installing new versions of unRAID.  I have had some server lockups due to configuration issues that required reboots to resolve, but this is the exception and not the rule.

I wish I knew. Back on V5 I probably only rebooted to upsize disks in my small form factor build with no room for more.

I invested in a little eaton UPS so it is not about power outage but I install every unraidOS update, so I reboot it frequently.

My longest uptime is 6-7 months at most.

  • 6 months later...

i only reboot my unraid for updates, so depends on Lime-tech release cycle....the biggest one i think 6 months since i installed the 6.12.0 rc6 from 6.11.5 on Nov 2022.

>560 days.

I did finally do that upgrade BTW. Just upgraded yesterday to 6.12.4.
