richardoswald
I'm hoping someone can help Intel GPU Top see my Intel iGPU, attached are my diagnostics. From what I can tell my iGPU should be supported by both the CPU (Xeon CPU E3-1245 v6) and the motherboard (Asus p10s-m-dc). I also blacklisted the AST ASPEED integrated graphics to see if that would help but no bueno. You'll notice I also have an Nvidia card. I'm hoping to use the Nvidia for some VMs, and the iGPU for transcoding. Just looking for some insight from the hardware wizards! zuse-diagnostics-20240410-2358.zip Quote Link to comment

Go into the BIOS and enable Multi Monitor Support (it may be called slightly differently in your BIOS), this should enable your iGPU even when you have a dGPU installed. Quote Link to comment

Thank you @ich777, it turns out my new motherboard uses an Intel C236 chipset so an iGPU is actually not supported. Bummer since I thought I did my research and assumed wrong that the P10S-M-DC was using a similar chipset to the P10S-M (C232) since I thought it was just a slight variation of the board. Looks like I'll be returning this motherboard to better suit my requirements. 1 Quote Link to comment
JDPerea
Hello I am trying to install radeon-top. But system freezes and becomes unresponsive "raw" boot leads to system hanged while loading amdgpu I tried to boot with option nomodeset. System boots, but when I try to install radeon-top, there is error message " cannot enbale module". Screenshot attached. I tried to blacklist driver by echo "blacklist amdgpu" to /boot/config/... System boots, but now I try to install Radeon Top and system freezes. Then, only way to proceed is to power off system CPU it's an AMD Ryzen 5 8500G - Radeon 740M I also tried to attach RX6600 GPU to it I know I should jump to Intel + Nvidia... but it's not feasible for some months Any ideas ? Hope there is a solution about it Regards Jose D Perea Quote Link to comment

If not please boot into safe mode or connect the USB Flash device to your local computer and delete the .plg file radeontop manually from the folder /boot/config/plugins/ (or \config\plugins\). Can you please post your Diagnostics? Quote Link to comment
scoopydude
As today (April 2024) is the Intel-GPU-Top required for enable Intel iGPU support in unRAID? I'm able to get Plex transcoding without the drivers installed. I installed the plugin because it was required for the GPU Statistics plugin. I started having random crashes on my server when I stress the iGPU. After I uninstalled both plugins the crashes stopped. Anyone else had this issue? Quote Link to comment
JDPerea
Hi ich777 Booting into safe mode, and not blacklisting driver, leads to same behavior I deleted Radeon file, rebooted system, and tried again to install Radeon top. System freezes. Ping is also ko. Quote Link to comment

No, it isn't necessary for a long time. Intel-GPU-Top is only a binary which is installed by the plugin and if you don't call it or you don't go to the Dashboard it won't be executed either. 45 minutes ago, scoopydude said: I started having random crashes on my server when I stress the iGPU. I don't think that that's related since as said before Intel-GPU-Top is only a binary and does nothing on it's own. 48 minutes ago, scoopydude said: Anyone else had this issue? I don't remember one having that issue. Quote Link to comment

I'm one of those who have access to the 6.13 beta. I installed an A380 a couple of days ago. Intel GPU Top is installed and the /dev/dri/ device has been added to each template and transcoding is working fine with Plex and Jellyfin. Intel GPU Top is installed as the GPU Statistics plugin requires it. Alas the version of Intel GPU Top in the Apps store doesn't appear to have all sensors added to it as power draw is not being displayed for the A380, but it is working on my N100 uSFF PC which uses the UHD770 iGPU. And I know I can get power draw from the A380 as I did test it with GPU-Z on Windows. There's an odd change in version numbering for intel_gpu_top - looks like yours is 1.28 and the latest is only one generation newer but it's listed as version 2.99.917. Kind of an odd bump in version so that needs further investigation. Quote Link to comment

I tested ARC GPUs a long time ago but don't expect that everything is working because this is basically Intel's first dGPU project in a long time which is actually good and the main focus lies definitely on other things currently (mainly Windows). AV1 Encoding is also not working on Linux, Deconding is working but Enconding not... 20 minutes ago, AgentXXL said: Alas the version of Intel GPU Top in the Apps store doesn't appear to have all sensors added to it as power draw is not being displayed for the A380, but it is working on my N100 uSFF PC which uses the UHD770 iGPU. Because an iGPU is not a dGPU and the iGPU from the N100 is Xe-LP and not Alchemist like the dGPU A380. For example the ARC GPUs are reporting the temperatures differently and you can read them by issuing `seonsors` from the terminal. 20 minutes ago, AgentXXL said: looks like yours is 1.28 and the latest is only one generation newer but it's listed as version 2.99.917 Can you please tell me where you have that information from? I expected Emby was also working but I don't use it myself. And yes, the test AV1 encodes I've done were all on Windows. Hadn't even looked at it for Linux. Quote Because an iGPU is not a dGPU and the iGPU from the N100 is Xe-LP and not Alchemist like the dGPU A380. I suspect the Windows focus (possibly better sensor support) is why I was able to pull power draw from GPU-Z. Quote Can you please tell me where you have that information from? All the official tags are here. I made the mistake of going to pkgs.org and looking for the generic intel-gpu-tools package, which intel_gpu_top is apparently part of. The package returned has the 2.99.917 version number, but I haven't gone as far as extracting the package to see if intel_gpu_top has been updated. Plus the package appears to only be available as a .rpm so I'll have to run it through rpm2targz to convert it for Slackware. Need to get my test box back in service before I try that. Link here if you want to take a look: https://pkgs.org/download/intel-gpu-tools So ignore my fumbling... 🤔 🤣 And thanks again for your quick response. I just looked into that and I think this is a odd choice of naming a debug release: (in my humble oppinion not even worth extracting) I build from time to time a new package based on the latest master branch if they haven‘t made a new release in a long time btw… 46 minutes ago, AgentXXL said: I suspect the Windows focus (possibly better sensor support) is why I was able to pull power draw from GPU-Z. Maybe yes, don‘t expect everything fully working on Linux since they are clearly more focused on Windows to compete with the other two main players. But it is working good enough in my oppinion for now and transcoding from/to h264/h265 is also blazing fast. 1 Quote Link to comment

Especially since I really only look at the Dashboard widget when troubleshooting a transcode issue, and that's pretty rare with QSV. I expect I won't even worry about the lack of power draw info as my efforts to reduce power consumption in the homelab are starting to show some fruit already. Thanks for looking into it!
