  1. I'm not sure exactly what this means. I read this article https://unraid.net/blog/unraid-6-9-beta35 and it talks about the AMD and Radeon drivers and gives a small description of how to get this to work (which is not detailed enough for me to follow it). Can someone give a brief explanation of what this is talking about and what the benefits are? Will doing this help a AMD GPU passthrough to a Win10 VM better?
  2. Were you ever able to get your RX580 passed through?
  3. Is the SSD trim needed for a NVME cache drive? I wasn't sure if a NVME works the same as a SSD....but I suppose it is a type of SSD.
  4. Thanks! Everything was up to date, I updated to 6.9 rc2 and it looks like it updated smoothly. Only issue is my drives aren't showing temps any longer.
  5. I want to update my server to 6.9. Is there a way to know if all of my plugins and apps are compatible with 6.9? Also, if everything goes well should I have to reconfigure anything like SWAG reverse proxy, nextcloud, etc? I'm hoping that everything goes smooth and it just boots back up and everything works as it has been.....but not sure how realistic that is.
  6. Would anyone have any thoughts regarding my Nextcloud going into "Maintenance Mode"? I was doing a update to the next stable update released and it seemed to be working fine. Then it said there was a error and went into Maintenance Mode where I can not access anything in my Nextcloud. My Nextcloud app in Unraid is up to date (and was prior to me updating it in Nextcloud. Would anyone here know how I can fix this?? Will I end up having to completely delete and reinstall nextcloud in Unraid?? Surely not, but if I cant even log in to Nextcloud what else could I do???
  7. Regarding the errors on Feb 4th, was it just on Feb 4th or is it a ongoing error? We were having some internet issues some time not too long ago and I rebooted the router. If Feb 4th was a isolated incident, it could be from that, right? I dont have any idea regarding the pcieport error on Feb 9th. I only have 1 pcie device which is a video card. Does this mean something odd is going on with the video card? I'm sorry, I'm not much of a computer person so Im not positive what these are telling me.
  8. Here is what it looks like right now with the server running good. I updated my containers today and everything is running great. The log is showing 1% on the Dashboard, which is what it normally shows except when it goes nuts every so often and maxes out. Do you see anything in here that looks unusual? tower-diagnostics-20210215-2145.zip
  9. Hello, are there any plans to make this work with AMD cards in the very near future? Or should I just go ahead and sell my AMD and buy a NVIDIA card since I want to do the crypto mining with my Unraid machine? Will that have to wait until there is a docker that makes it so that Unraid itself can utilize AMD cards??? I dont really know how all of that works
  10. Thank you, I'll probably do that. It typically isnt growing out of control but for some reason about once a month, all the sudden, it fills up very fast all at once and the server crashes. It must be happening in a matter of hours and I've never been able to catch it in process, I just see the server crash. I also have parity check run once a month and it always seems to happen in conjunction with that.
  11. I'm sorry for the delay but I've not been able to get back to the forum until now. So I zipped the file and it is 112MB but it still wont upload. It gives me a error -200 which I guess it for being too big but I don't really know. Without compression the file is 13.4 GB so from there down to 112mb seems pretty good. Any other ideas? Should I try to use some specific zip tool that may make it smaller? With the file being 13.4 GB I cant even open it in Notepad because it says the file is too large for Notepad. Is there some other app that I can use to open a log file that will take large files? Also, I do have my mover scheduled to be often....hourly....however my log file is 1% all the time, then in one day, right after a parity check it becomes maxed out at 100%. I have my parity check running monthly and this seems to always happen right after the parity check is finished.
  12. My syslog keeps getting full and locking up the server. It usually is at like 1% then all the sudden out of the blue it fills up. I think it might coincide with a parity check running. I have a 12TB parity drive and it seems like every time this has happened it I noticed it had just finished a parity drive within a day. I setup a "Syslog server" after the last time so I wouldn't loose the file (normally the server freezes and when I reboot the syslog is erased) Well I'm trying to upload the file but it is 13.5GB and when I try to attach it here I keep getting a error -200 and it wont let me attach it....guessing because of the size. Any ideas on what to do??? Thanks!!!
  13. Thank you! I'm investigating the Duplicator plugin. All the how to's are for windows. I guess this will be pretty much the same though. So basically when I get ready to load in the Duplicator installation and archive files I just do it on a brand new WP container....so by doing this often (probably weekly) I'd just delete a container when Im done testing and next week install the WP container again? But when I install it dont set anything up because Duplicator will do everything, I just tell it the new URL and it loads the website with the correct url based on which server I'm installing on. (If moving to here I tell it ip:port and if moving from here to live host I tell it the url) Would I also need to reinstall the Mariadb each week when I want to move my website here to test? Or will it just overwrite whatever is there from the previous week?
  14. Thanks Kru-x! okay, I have it now where I can pull up WP with the webui and everything works. This is obviously super new to me, I've had a website for 5years but it has been a hosted Shopify site and I'm working on replacing it with a Woocommerce site so I'm just trying to figure things out. I've read through this thread but just want to make sure I understand some things correctly. if I start creating a website and its on my server ip/port then as I create it and install plugins and all that kind of stuff, its all going to be based on that IP address and then if I get ready to move it to my hosting service and be on my live domain/url, I will need to follow something in this link you shared in a post a while back https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-change-your-wordpress-site-urls-step-by-step/ and this will change everything from ip/port to live url and it will all work correctly, is that right? Is there a way to create it using my actual URL but like its 'offline' or something where I can only see it locally (since I already have a live website at said url)? So that way when I upload it to the host service it will all be correct and nothing will need to be changed? Or likewise so that I could take a backup from my hosting service and open it on my unraid to test plugins and such. Ultimatly I want my Unraid WP to be a test environment for my website so I can test updates and plugins and such before I do them to the live site. Just trying to gauge the best way to do that.
  15. Hello, I just installed CrushFTP and just am curious about security. All I did was install Crushftp from the CA....is it secure that way? Is there anything I should do to make sure it is secure? I literally know nothing about security but I need to make sure its secure, I'll be sending sensitive information to it.
  16. Thanks for the info! I'm trying to get this all configured correctly. I installed MarinaDB and then installed Wordpress. But I changed the Wordpress port from 8080 to something else because I had SAB on 8080. But eventhough I changed the port to a free port, when I click on the webui it still tries to open up ip:8080 and sab pulls up. Will it alllow me to change the port? To clarify, when I go to webui and it pulls up SAB, I can just change the port to the one I assigned it and WP pulls up fine. Its just that when I click on the webui it isnt going to the port I assigned it. Thanks so much for any info you can give. I'm excited to get this figured out, I'm going to try making this my test environment and backup host for the Woocommerce site I'm building.
  17. Hello, I have MariaDB installed for Nextcloud however I would like to now install Wordpress which also uses the MariaDB. How can I install a second docker of MariaDB? (installing a second instance so I have a separate database for Nextcloud vs Wordpress would be the correct way to do this wouldnt it? Thank You!
  18. I have a question or maybe more than "a" question lol. So I'm building a Woocommerce site that will be hosted with a hosting service, but I want to create a exact copy of it to have as a test environment so when I need to do updates and such I can do them in the test environment first to make sure everything works before doing them on my live site. Can I use this app on my Unraid server to do that and just load in all the files from my hosted website to create a exact copy? Further, if something happened like if my website host went down or my site got hacked or corrupted, couldnt I just point the A record to my Unraid ip:port where the WP is docker is and host the site temporarily from my Unraid? Would it be better to incorporate this with some firewall security stuff since its a ecomm site? I'm sorry, Ive never done anything like this, our site has always been on a hosted service (Shopify), I'm just now switching to Woocommerce where I have to host it.....so this is all new to me. I'm just wanting to confirm if all of that will work. At the time being I'm not yet done building the website.
  19. I have a web hosting service that is running daily backups and I'm running out of space with the host and dont want to pay extra. They have a feature where I can save my backups remotely over FTP. I want to start saving them on my Unraid server since it has plenty of space sitting there (no reason to pay for space with the host when I have a Unraid server sitting here) Do you guys have any suggestions on how to set up a secure FTP where I will have a URL or server path of some kind with login/password that my cpanel can access over the web to save my backups? I see there are a few apps for ftp but no idea which is more secure or if I need to do some other things to make ftp in general more secure. I have a URL with Heimdall and SWAG setup, can I use these somehow to make it more secure? Or is it as easy as just installing one of the ftp apps and boom, its all done and secure? I just dont want to 'think' its secure and find out one day when theres a issue that its hasnt been secure at all.
  20. Thank You! I got it setup and running, hopefully this issue will happen again soon and I can find out whats going on.
  21. Well it has done it again. I'm trying to type diagnostics in the console but the console keeps refreshing over and over, I can only get a couple letters in before it refreshes and removes what I typed. I tried to paste it in and it seemed like that was going to work but then it refreshed and went away. Any thoughts? I have been watching it and my log file has been on 1%, then I havent looked in the past few days and its at 100% and the server is basically locked up. Do you have any ideas before I reboot it? I can still use Krusader to look at stuff thats stored but thats about it and it occasionally knocks me out so i have to log back in
  22. I've started using Kodi at the house and Plex just for mobile. It seems odd to me that Kodi can direct play pretty much every movie I have, no matter the format, and Plex has to transcode just about all of them. Since Kodi can direct play them all, I can move the timeline forward and backward as far as I want and it starts playing instantly. I wish I could get Plex to behave that way....i was hoping the RAM transcoding would help in this regard but it really didn't....it may have helped slightly but moving the timeline is still not a very useable experience. Oh well, its nice for mobile and letting friends/family use it.
  23. Do you guys find that RAM trsnscoding affects being able to easily move through the timeline?
  24. Is it possible to set up a cron job to access another server across the internet via FTP and download the files there and save them to a specific share on my Unraid server? I have a cpanel hosting several companies email (family companies) and I make automated daily backups of email but its taking up too much space so I want to save the backups to my Unraid since its has a lot of available space. The cpanel can be setup to make the backups available to FTP access where you can log in via FTP and download them. I'm wondering if I can set up a cron job on my Unraid to access that FTP, download the backup files, then close the connection, and save them in a specific share. Anyone know if that's possible???
