I got most of the time just one. But sometimes when I test something ill use the testversion period in my second machine. Mostly when new hardware arrives, before I put it in my main Unraid Ill test it first. Some goes for preclearing disks.

Main Unraid 64GB DDR4-ECC 3200MHz Got plenty of Dockers running and some VMs with Debain, Windows Server, Windows 11. Most of the time I am just using up to 40-50GB when all VMs are running. Will be upgraded within a few months to 128GB

Mich interessiert das eigentlich noch / hauptsächlich im Bereich Cache. Da ich mein Unraid oft extrem missbrauche was Read-Write-Performance angeht. Ich werde aber bald mir eine andere SSD besorgen. Es gibt im Enterprise-Bereich einige 4-8TB NVMe SSDs mit beachtlichen Lesen und Schreibwerten.

Ich würde auch SSDs nicht als Parity verwenden, klar wäre das wesentlich schneller, aber die Belastung (Lese- / Schreib-Zyklen) wären ja enorm. Auch gibt es für mich keine bezahlbaren 16-20TB SSDs. Ich hab zum Beispiel in einem dritt Server mal Unraid als Testversion laufen gehabt mit Standard Samsung Pro 850 Sata SSD 2TB als Array 2x und Parity 2x WD Blue 4TB. Das lief schön schnell. Dennoch liebe ich bei Unraid einfach die Cache-Option und mit den bei dir im Test verwendeten SanDisk 4TB SSDs, welche ich ebenfalls besitze habe ich keinen Schmerz was die Datenübertragung angeht. 10GB Netzwerk ist aktuell im Aufbau nur relativ Kosten- und Zeit-Intensiv, bevor das nicht abgeschlossen ist habe ich kaum Vorteile gegenüber normalen HDDs, da selbst bei 1GB max 110MB/s erreicht werden beim übertragen auf die Array HDDs direkt. Einzig mein HauptPC ist direkt per 10GB an den Server per 10GB verbunden, da merkt man den Cache schon mit bis zu 800MB/s Mich würde es ja interessieren ob z.B. die NVMe WD Blues so viel "schlechter" sind als deren RED SSDs für NAS-Systeme. Dazu habe ich noch kaum bis fast keine erschlussreichen Vergleich gefunden..

OK dem stimme ich zu, beobachte das ja selbst, bin aber dennoch irgendwie aktuell bei Jellyfin was die "Schnelligkeit" angeht hängen geblieben. Die Zeit wirds zeigen, was, wie und wohin das ganze geht. Plex usw. ist bei mir noch als Docker vorhanden nur aktuell nicht mehr gepflegt 😅

Da hier jemand sehr schön Jellyfin erwähnt hat binde ich diesen nochmal mit ein. Ich hab nun so ziemlich alle durch, Kodi ist schön aufgebläht und kann viel aber nicht sonderlich "schön" für mich. Plex war / ist die eierlegende Wollmilchsau, aber vieles nur mit dem Pass richtig geil. JellyFin bietet mir, nach meiner Ansicht, das beste Gesamtpaket. Es ist leicht (Ressourcen schohnend) schnell und lässt sich super schön über das Internet erreichbar machen mit expliziten Einstellmöglichkeiten für Benutzer und den dazugehörigen Bibliotheken. Altersfreigaben sowie einzelne Bibliotheken waren so schön einzurichten, dass ich meinen Plex Pass gekündigt habe und jetzt ausschließlich Jellyfin benutze. Ja bei den großen Herstellen hinken die noch etwas nach, was die Clients angeht, da ich aber trotzdem Samsung einen FireTV-4K Stick im Schlafzimmer habe und im Wohnzimmer einen HTPC mit Windoof und Jellyfin Client finde ich das total vernachlässigbar. (Beide Zimmer sind mit Samsung TVs ausgestattet.) Overall finde ich Jellyfin einfach extrem sexy und schön zu benutzen. Wie gesagt vor allem die Systemlast bei 4K HDR+ DV usw. usv. ist um Welten besser als bei Plex... Keine Ahnung wieso

Momentum ist das wohl gefährlichste Programm als Usenet Downloader / Reader was es derzeit gibt. Auch wenn er vlt schick aufgebaut sein möchte gibt es immer wieder berichte, dass dieser die Nutzerlogin-Daten der Usenet-Provider an die Entwickler weiterleitet. Diese dann die Login-Daten selbst verwenden und oder verkaufen. Dennoch, wenn man es möchte befolge die Einrichtung wie in dem Github geschildert. Ich will dennoch vor dem Client warnen.

When I will be in the same situation I would try to reuse the old disk. Just because your problem wasnt the disk itself, it was your powersupply. When I really want to many drives I would instantly go just for 12-16TB drives. I just got a Corsair RMx 550 with 12 Disk attached two HBAs. Without any problem but it seems the rails are better? Anyway try to use your "old" disk12 and try it. It should work. A friend got in the same trouble with a faulty motherboard. But even then we were able to rebuild the old disks without a problem.

Hello, I already looked up everything what I was able to find with the search function and google. I set up a second pool (cache ssds). Named it "cachepool2". When I move files to this pool and invoke the mover every single file says in the logs "file exist" on the array but it isnt. Shares are set up: Name: Backups Use Cache: Yes Cache: cachepool2 So now the faulty as mentioned above. When I use the "classic" pool "cache" everything works as excepted. But when I create a new "cachepool" mover wont move files from the cachepool2 to the array... Maybe someone can help me.

I cant see my second cache pool. This isnt a big problem. But yeah would be nice it to be added with an update.

Sadly I have to say that this wireguard docker works better for me then the inbuild one. Within Unraid directly I cant get even access to something. Even when everything is setup correctly....

MY BAD!!! Needed AdGuard setting to writeover fritz.box to my fritz ip.... Now everything works. I am so sorry.

Nah I got a great upgrade here for my upload 🙂 Still cant get it to work. I created now 3 different accounts within my fritzbox but it wont display any stats... Strange.. If I go through my browser to IP:9042/metrics everything appears... Hm... I am confused.

Fritzbox 6591 Cable (Vodafone Cable Business 1000Mbit / 500Mbit) For sure I followed step by step. But I cant even find any logs or something after I startet the plugin, restarted prometheus and grafana. Still no data even within Prometheus nothing seems to happen. My NETATMO Station, Unraid Server, WireGuard and AdGuard looksup and shows my stats, but my "Fritte" wont work at all...

This seems to be a nice plugin. But anyway I cant get it to work. Sadly. But anyway thank you for this!

You could try to build within ghcr.io (github).

It sounds stupid. But I have also nearly a same Unraid Server with your mentioned hardware. I switched from Q35 to i440fx. Now everything works for me smoothly. I dont know why. But after 6.9.2 I needed to switch to i440fx...

Nice build and nice set up. Clearly mentioned everything others my be finding usefull. (Like RDIMMS). Like your build and even your AIO-Watercooled solution should be fine. 🙂 Also to mention not problem while helping you out with your hackintosh. It was a pleasure! 🙂 Good Luck with your new build. My freezing issue went away. I found that the newer drivers (virtio) are making some problems with Win 11. I uninstalled them and my VM runs okish. Its not fast or very fluid, but it wont freeze up atm.

Hm.... I would say this seems just to be annoying. The Kepler Patch is requiered if you want the correct resolution for your monitor. What I dont get is, when you installed it with macinabox why it is already monterey But Lucky you. When the iso is already there you could now try to edit the also existing OpenCore.img to update this to OpenCore 0.7.5 with my mentioned kexts and config.plist. Maybe we when could get closer together. Write me a PM with Discord or any other instant-messenger. 🙂 I will help you as much as I can.

This doenst matter if he set up the vms xml correctly. Then the cpu get spoofed as a Intel one. I never tried to just rename a dmg into img. What I could try to assist you further will be with a Monterey ISO and a OpenCore.img. Maybe this is the problem.

First of all I would try OpenCore 0.7.4 at least better 0.7.5 (dont forget the BOOT.EFI) Remove AGPMInjector.kext / USB-Map.kext / Logi-*.kext Also all ACPI also <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-q35-5.1'>hvm</type> to <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc-q35-6.0'>hvm</type> If wanted I can provide you a OpenCore.img (Which should work). But you will need to edit it with the LATEST OpenCoreConfigurator for the config.plist.
