  1. Just curious as I'm thinking on building a 2nd Unraid server especially for VMs using hardware passthrough and will be using a GTX 750. Do you have separate monitors attached to the older PCI card and another monitor attached to the GTX 750? Thanks kindly
  2. Checked Newegg.ca and they also carry these cables - but they are asking $50. Please note both the Amazon and Newegg are the Canadian sites and the price is in Canadian dollars. So American prices should be quite a bit less. Newegg also has posted the data transmission is safe and stable - does this mean they are shielded? https://www.newegg.ca/black-cabledeconn-1m-coax-cables/p/0ZF-00GP-00001
  3. I've ordered this SATA cable to help tidy up the growing octopus nest of sata cables in my computer. I only purchased one set and will use on 4 drives in my array. Anyone used these cables? I am also wondering if they are shielded since they are being advertised as server cables I assumed they were. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00VI3MFMO?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  4. I have the same cpu and mobo I5-2500K and Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3. Currently using it as a Windows 7 drive pool rig. I am contemplating on converting it to a 2nd Unraid box however it would only be used as a Samba server. I knew the I5-2500K supported vt-x but not vt-d. It is also my understanding the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 mobo does not support vt-d, but does support vt-x. So replacing the 2500K with a I7-3770 would not accomplish much for pci passthrough. So vms would only using the virtual graphic card and not the physical Nvidia 650 TI Boost. I also have a spare Nvidia GTX 750 and GTX 1060 that I could use. But will not since vt-d is not supported.
  5. PS: I realize I can do something the same with the syntax for iptables but I am not as comfortable with it's syntax. Also upon a reboot of Unraid the iptables would be reset to the Unraid defaults. UFW would hopefully make the changes permanent.
  6. Any chance of this happening? I find ufw on Zorin samba very useful.
  7. Still having issues with my Intel Hawell I7-4700S. Whenever I enable the onboard graphics for my VM and then launch the VM, it causes my Unraid server to freeze. This issue should be a top priority for Unraid as these Intel cpus with onboard graphics are the perfect solution for NAS and servers. Curious, does the AMD cpus with onboard graphics also have this issue? Despite this issue, simply love Unraid. Cheers
  8. Did you ever find out if this would work with Unraid?
  9. Love Unraid. It is very stable and setting up shares is a breeze. But I very much dislike it's virtualization. I tried everything suggested here and I get terrible performance for my Windows 11 vm and my Ubuntu vm. I do not run both vms concurrently. I am retired from the IT industry where I worked with Vmware and Citrix. Due to lack of drivers, we virtualized our Novell Netware servers. My Unraid server is a i7-4770S with 32 gigs of RAM. I get better performance with VirtualBox installed on my I5-2500 Windows 10 computer with 16 gigs of ram. On VirtualBox I get near metal performance for my Ubuntu vm. I seem to have had better vm performance on an earlier build of Unraid as I only fire up a vm pc once or twice every two months. Unraid really needs to make vm easier to do or offer us a VirtualBox docker. If I had the small hardware I would build a Proxmox box and be done with Unraid's virt manager.
  10. When I run UNBALANCE and attempt to move a folder I get a warning about user nobody not having enough rights. When I go into the settings for UNBLANCE I on see Enable server and port. I do not see the user setting that is mentioned earlier in the thread. I am assuming I need to change the user to root or an equivalent admin. How do I run UNBALANCE as root? Thanks
  11. Somehow WSD got enabled and once again Unraid crashed. Is there a way to permenatley to disable WSD so installing patches and updates does not re-enable WSD?
  12. Attached are the results from these three commands ls al / ls -al /root ls -al /mnt
  13. The only reason I wanted to use Krusader, it was recommended to use Krusader if you did not want to use a text editor like nano or vi as the config file I was editing have over 200 lines in it. I I've used nano and vi in past for small config files fstab or samb but not for a config file with over 200 lines. I was told Krusader has a built in gui text editor.
  14. When I recently upgraded to 6.11.5 I started to get a few random freezes as I did earlier in this thread. I checked and Samba WSD was now enabled, perhaps due to the upgrade to 6.11.5. So I disabled WSD and has not frozen yet.
  15. Still not working. I can now see the host folders and files, except for the Root folder.
  16. Try to resolve this issue here which suggested editing "DockerClient.php"
  17. I was using the non binhex-krussader, so I removed and installed the binhex version. i did find the settings for PUID and PGID and changed to 0. But it still seems like it will not go into root mode. I am trying to edit file DockerClient.php in "/usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/include/" I can go to the folder using terminal. However using Krusdar or Binhex Krusader, I can not past /usr/local as emhttp is not display and I do have hidden folders turned on in binhex/Krusader. So I am assuming I am not running in root mode. I also tried under Tooks-->Start Root Mode Krusader and it still does not display the emhttp folder. I also tried entering the path in binHex/Krusader "/usr/local/emhttp" and I am told emhttp does not exist. PS: I was able to edit "DockerClient.php" via terminal but I was told using Krusader would be easier.
  18. Thanks for the link but I could not find anything there that seemed to address my problem as thread goes off into so many directions. And I have no option for user, nor is there one defined as nobody or root. There is an option to run as root, and it is set to True.
  19. I am not patching manually. I always use Unraid app to notify me of updates and install them. I switched from Basic View in Apps to Advanced View as suggested in another thread, and the updates for Virt-manager appeared. Sorry for getting upset, but today it was a bit stressful.
  20. When I clicked on Advanced view (I was in basic view) the update became available. thanks kindly...
  21. How do you run Krusader in root mode? I tried the option below and entered in my root password, but I was informed it was the wrong password. Thinking it was a typo, I tried again but enabled the option to display the password. I confirmed my password was correct, yet once again I was told my password was wrong. It said something about a WHEEL group was well.
