[Support] Linuxserver.io - Nextcloud
Does anyone know why the NextCloud Windows desktop app requires username and password every time it is launched? I thought I had it working where it did not do that; but now for sure I am seeing it does. If that is the nature of the beast, it seems just keeping a weblink on Chrome would end up doing the same thing without the client install.

Question about UnRaid's Self-Signed Certificate
I watched some videos on setting up the UnRaid certificate provision. Two questions have since popped up. 1) I notice I can still login to UnRaid via the normal less secure HTTP. I assume by that you cannot require https login? 2) I have NextCloud running in a Docker on Unraid. It has the unsecure http address in the browser window. I assumed with the provision turned on, it would also apply to the dockers connections via the browser. That too is a wrong assumption? Ideally I believe I would like everything to go through the HTTPS connection.

Share Keeps Being Created Automatically, Want to Stop It, How?
I had a typo when I created my appdata share on my SSD drives. Spelled it appadata. Fixed the spelling and the appdata share works fine. But somwhere, somehow the appadata share keeps getting created. I keep deleting it, and like a stray cat, it keeps coming back. Is there a way I can quickly discern what is creating this share. I have checked all my dockers and there appears to be no hint to it.

[Support] MariaDB Official
Your right of course. After four hours last night of trying and trying, giving my user account kodi different passwords, going into terminal and giving kodi complete permissions and such, I went to bed with a thought on my mind. Instead of setting up a new account, I took the easy approach and gave in and tried using the default root account. In 10 minutes I had Kodi up and running pulling in the media. May not be the 'professional' thing to do using the root account of MariaDB, but since it only is used for Kodi, I thought why not? None of this is open to the WAN and I do not run any VPN.

[Support] binhex - Krusader
I was up to 1am working on this and will try again. An interesting note is the other version in the CA community (Krusader) installed and worked with no issues. So indeed there has to be one unique setting that is different. Only thing I noted was from a video on installing this version is I set the media to /mnt. Basically only change I made to the defaults.

[Support] MariaDB Official
I have used MariaDB for several years and every time I go to configure it anew, I loose more hair. I am bald now. First I cannot get it to create my kodi database even though I setup the user name and password as in the same for the advancedsetting.xml. Skipping on that failure, I tried using the default generated password where I am supposed to find it in the log. Not finding it in the log below. text error warn system array login 2025-06-27 17:51:11 0 [Note] Starting MariaDB 11.8.2-MariaDB-ubu2404 source revision 8d36cafe4fc700e6e577d5a36650c58707e76b92 server_uid Tnq7keT8GKDxmAtaGW699QQYKjk= as process 1 2025-06-27 17:51:11 0 [Note] InnoDB: Compressed tables use zlib 1.3 2025-06-27 17:51:11 0 [Note] InnoDB: Number of transaction pools: 1 2025-06-27 17:51:11 0 [Note] InnoDB: Using crc32 + pclmulqdq instructions 2025-06-27 17:51:11 0 [Warning] mariadbd: io_uring_queue_init() failed with EPERM: sysctl kernel.io_uring_disabled has the value 2, or 1 and the user of the process is not a member of sysctl kernel.io_uring_group. [Support] binhex - Krusader
Just installed binhex-krusader and getting consistently This site can't be reached. [Plugin] Appdata.Backup
Wow fast response. Thank you. I am going to delete all my dockers and start fresh. Manually backing them up one at a time now. --For some reason the Appdata backup only backs up the Mariadb, Emby some sort of xml file. But I know both have actual data.

[Plugin] Appdata.Backup
I am struggling with the pluggin (my lack of knowledge), but a simple thing like clicking on a folder only selects the top layer of the folder. Does a person really have to dig into each subfolder to get the entire structure backed up? In the screenshot below, I clicked on Dockers and I had to then click on appdata, even with that, the subfolders still will not select unless I dive into each one and select it. Some of these directories have many subfolders.

[Plugin] Appdata.Backup
Preface my questions with I had two dockers originally on a separate SSD drive and 'moved' them to a larger pair of SSD drives. I call the pool 'dockers.' I put move in quotes because not completely sure I did it the most accurate way. But the dockers are working, Emby and MariaDB. Decided to install and run the AppData backup app. -My question is when it runs with the default /mnt/user/appdata it states MariaDB-Official should NOT backup external volumes, sanitizing them . . . It says the same for EmbyServerBeta. I know under /mnt/dockers I have the following: /mnt/dockers/appdata /mnt/dockers/EmbyServerData /mnt/dockers/system /mnt/dockers/system/dockers SO I am guessing while my system works, the files may not be where the backup app can get them??

Pool Question with added SSD Drive
I think I know some of the issues when I added a previously used 1TB Samsung_870 drive to my UnRaid server. Entrees in the picture 9, S6PTNMOT420498V-part2, 1, 13, 321. These are because the drive was not formatted or wiped prior to adding it. I also tried mounting it and it would not. . . . . I thought I could format it when it was installed. I removed it, but I noticed when it was inserted it gave its name as Docker2. I take it that is how Pool's work. Each added drive becomes incremented by number from the first device in that pool. Here is my goal. Add the Samsung 1TB drive and move everything from the Docker drive to it. THEN, shutdown, and remove the smaller OCZ 128GB drive and add my second 1TB used Samsung_870 drive. I was going to work off of this advice, "stop docker service, stop VM service if it's running. move the data from the docker pool to the cache pool, remove the docker pool and replace that disk with the new disk, move the data back to the docker pool." So do I need to format / wipe the 1TB Samsung drives first? Is my plan above the best way to go about doing this, or create a new pool?

Every shutdown requires I plug my USB flash drive for UnRaid in a different USB port. Is that normal?
Thank you, that did it. Disabling fast boot.

Setting Cache Share to move files to Same Share Name On Array
Maybe I understand this. So I do not create a share on the array like TV Shows Volume 3? Just create a share on the cache called TV Shows Volume 3 and the Mover will move the files to an unshared folder called TV Shows Volume 3 on the array as scheduled? So I would not access the folder called TV Shows Volume 3 on the array directly?

Setting Cache Share to move files to Same Share Name On Array
I've read a lot and watched some videos. Not finding a clear use case. Basically, I want to use my 1TB cache to speed up the copy process of going from my external usb drive to my new drive in my UnRaid server. Easy enough to setup, but I am missing some detail. A person wrote this below which I thought I understood. I created a share on the cache drive with the same name, as my shared folder TV Shows Volume 3. But it would not take since I realize it is the same name. "If i understand correctly, for shares that are cache-enabled, there is a folder on the cache drive with the same name as the share, and mover then moves from the cache folder (for example 'Movies') to the share ('Movies')?" I thought I could create a cache share, then use the mover to move the files to the array in a specific folder. There appears to be no option to tell the cache which folder I want the files moved to. Just the entire disk. Best I have come up with so far is to create a cache share called Transfer, and then move the files from it to the folder TV Shows Volume 3. I was hoping for something for specific and automatic? Is it not possible to have the cache drive be shared and move those files to a specific folder on the array?

Swap Small SSD Drive with a Larger One

Swap Small SSD Drive with a Larger One
I want to replace a smaller SSD drive which holds my Dockers with a larger SSD drive. Is it as simple as shutting down the dockers, stopping the array, shutting down UnRaid and then switching out the small SSD drive and plugging in the larger one. (Smaller than Parity Drive). Then reboot, turn on the array and the Parity drive would rebuild it? Then turn back on the dockers?

Recommendation for UPS Docker or App for APC Back-UPS XS 1000M
Anyone have a recommendation for a docker or app to use with my UPS? I am used to the interface (GUI) that came with using one for Windows. Ideally, one that would allow viewing the general statistics like uptime on battery, battery condition and the ability to shut system down manually / automatically safely when the battery is about to give out.

Cache Pool Set Wrong Somewhere, Non Reads or Writes
Well, here is the solution that was provided to me. "Your setup is fine. It's your copy command that needs to be changed. You need to copy to /mnt/user/share-name instead of directly to disk4." It is working now and speeds are much better. :-)

Cache Pool Set Wrong Somewhere, Non Reads or Writes
Thank you for that tip! I've gone back and just went with the included disk(s) and unchecked the excluded disks. Ran my problem with the cache by my co-worker who got me started with UnRaid. He is looking to find a YouTube video which will cover it. I found one really good video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij8AOEF1pTU), but he did not cover exactly my situation. Just trying to use cache to speed up copying movie files. In my case from an USB external drive to my disk 4.

Cache Pool Set Wrong Somewhere, Non Reads or Writes
I have the diagnostics log. Is the zip file something you just attach in this thread? New to UnRaid. Only been a paid subscriber less than 24 hours. :-) The link to diagnostics states there is no PII . Can you confirm that is still the case today? I know the problem is not the software. It is apparently in my setup. Below are the only three settings I have touched to try to get cache to work.

Cache Pool Set Wrong Somewhere, Non Reads or Writes
I have a pool of two 1TB nvme drives. I setup a share called media and it is set to Primary storage Cache, Secondary Storage array. Fillup. Included disks 3, excluded disks(s) Disk 1, Disk 2. Mover action Cache > Array. Prior to turning on the cache in the above settings I wrote straight to the array. I was getting around 50mb/s. Now ironically I am at 34 mb/s. No reads or writes to the cache. Not sure what I set wrong?

Every shutdown requires I plug my USB flash drive for UnRaid in a different USB port. Is that normal?
New to Unraid with my trial ending in a few days. Noticed a pattern that when I shutdown Unraid on my new PC I built just for it, I cannot connect to it's webpage after the restart. I finally discovered if I shutdown the PC again, move the USB flash drive to another usb port, it will boot up properly and I can get to the webpage. This isn't normal is it?
