Who?

We’re excited to officially welcome Chris Tram (aka @TidalBuzz ) to the Unraid team as our newest Senior Software Engineer. Chris joins us with a rich background that blends curiosity, creativity, and technical depth. Like many in the Unraid community, his journey started in the early days of the consumer internet—dial-up tones, web rings, and shareware games all included. That same spirit of tinkering eventually led him into Linux, open source, and ultimately, a career in full-stack development. Chris will be working on the Cloud & API team, helping to shape the future of Unraid in meaningful ways. His initial focus will be on: Enhancing the Unraid Account website Improving the UI/UX of the Unraid product Supporting the development of the Unraid API He’s based in the San Francisco Bay Area where he lives with his partner and their dogs. When he’s not deep in code, you’ll find him reading (or listening to) a good book, enjoying live music, watching movies, or out on a walk—or even a dance—with his partner. Hey there! Please see here: https://docs.unraid.net/unraid-os/faq/licensing-faq/#what-happens-if-i-dont-extend-my-starter-or-unleashed-license tl;dr- nothing happens to your license. You own the license as a perpetual one. If you don't extend, you won't have access to new releases but the release you are on will still continue to work just fine! Thanks for your service!

Nothing is happening to the licenses other than the price is changing. The updates and everything else remains the same.

Yes. All of the Basic, Plus, Pro licenses are perpetual licenses with lifetime updates. Pro (not sold anymore but upgradable to for grandfathered users) is the same as the new Lifetime license apart from price.
