[Plug-In] Community Applications

Featured Replies

Hey all,

having same issues with community app feed as @Squid and @captpower reported. No App Feed after upgrading to Unraid 7.0.1 (Browser: Chrome).

Message looks like this...

image.thumb.png.bab9f2885196062d7c406ce60b0d61a2.png

has also two NICs but disabled one in BIOS to not make things more complicated. Also disabled ipv6. Did not help...

Any ideas what else I can try? Many thanks!

PS: Read that downgrading to 7.0 and then upgrading to 7.01 could do the trick. How can I do this? In "tools menu" I just get "downgrade to 6.12.6" => Is this the way to go first and move via 7.0 to 7.0.1?

Hi All, I tried to update today and this is what I get:

plugin: updating: community.applications.plg Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks Cleaning Up Old Versions Fixing pinned apps Setting up cron for background notifications plugin: run failed: 'upgradepkg --install-new --reinstall' returned 127 Executing hook script: post_plugin_checks

Now, the plugin doesn't work at all... all I get is: Click Install to download and install the Community Applications plugin and when I try.. I get this:
image.thumb.png.abee85acdbf630871fe4a5ccd40ef300.png
plugin: installing: community.applications.plg Executing hook script: pre_plugin_checks plugin: downloading: community.applications.plg ... done plugin: not reinstalling same version Executing hook script: post_plugin_checks

Any ideas? I would appreciate it.

Update 1/05/2025:

Fixed it... I had some errors in the plugin errors section.. i deleted them and restarted.. works again. No idea why.

Ever since upgrading to 7.0.1 the search function in the community applications does nothing. You can type in the search box but nothing happens when you commit the search.

Edit: I actually tried downgrading to 7.0.0 and the search function still does not work.

I'm on 7.1rc4, never stopped working for me...

Some of us are getting the following message:

"Deprecated OS version. No further updates to Community Applications will be issued for this OS version"

We are wondering why it is deprecated? Personally, I'm on 6.12.15.

I would guess because v7.1.0 is nearing release (v7.1.0-rc4 last i heard). I believe Limetech only supports the most recent 2 minor versions i.e. v7.1.x will be current, v7.0.x will be security patch only and <= v6.12.x will be EOL. I would not be surprised to find that some plugin maintainers, particularly for plugins that integrate deeply with unRAID, will follow Limetech's lead on this.

Likely but IMO since CA is under the unraid org now there should be better synchronisation between that with the same status for the OS and all first party plugins.

That's wrong...  That message should only appear when running OS versions less than 6.12.0 (ie:6.11.5)

I'd uninstall, then reinstall CA

Someone reported it on discord too

I saw this as well yesterday - 6.12.10

(Yeah, I know, I should update.  Waiting on 7.1.1.  Production servers don't update to versions with a .0 in them)

I ended up updating to the 7 series version of unRAID and it went away.

If anyone is seeing this, what is the version of CA installed?  You can see either in the plugins tab or in CA at the bottom of the left side menu

Version 2025.01.28 for me. Just updated OS to 7.1 today and the search function still isn't working. I'm not real sure what else to do at this point.

I am such a knuckle head. I figured out the issue and can't believe it's taking me this long to figure out but it's my browser. I use OperaGX and the search function doesn't work in that browser but it does in chrome and edge, just fine. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time with my stupidity lol.

Update to this, I reset my settings in OperaGX and now the search function works in it as well.

OperaGX

Any idea what setting was the issue?  Opera isn't part of my normal testing, but if I can fix whatever caused the issue I will.

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started a clean installation of Unraid 7.1 and noticed a recurring issue with the Community Applications (CA) plugin. I’m experiencing the following:

Many application icons do not load properly in the Apps tab.

Each time I access the Apps tab, different sets of icons are either missing or show a "?" placeholder.

The problem is intermittent – refreshing the page sometimes makes a few icons reappear while others vanish.

I tested with different DNS servers (including Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 and Google 8.8.8.8), different browsers, and even reinstalled the CA plugin, but the behavior persists.

On the first reinstall attempt of CA, I received a "Download error", which succeeded only on a second attempt – possibly indicating a connectivity issue with the CA CDN or image hosting.

This is a fresh install — no containers have been added yet — and everything else in Unraid seems stable so far. But this issue makes it difficult to browse and select applications with confidence.

Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior after upgrading or installing Unraid 7.1? Could this be related to a temporary CDN or backend issue?

Any insights or guidance would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Rafael

The icons that get displayed in CA are all downloaded and rendered directly by your browser, and the server / CA isn't involved in it.   If the browser is unable to download the URL for the icon, then all CA does is instead of displaying a broken img it instead displays the "?".

The icons you're having issues on though appear to be all https://raw.githubusercontent.com/....   If you're using an adblocker, or something you need to ensure that the domain is whitelisted

I have all adblockers disabled on my NAS IP, but it still happens...

For instance, for one of the latest apps the icon URL is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nwithan8/unraid_templates/master/images/cron-alpine-icon.png but I still get the question mark, even if I try it in all my browsers.t

that one in particular is in fact an image of a question mark.

This one is the zfs-master one, that shouldnt be a question mark

yes, I know it's an image of a question mark. And it's pulled from the address that according to the previous reply would be blacklisted (and yet displays fine)...

thats good, the question is, can your unraid server?

If it does, then i would chuck it up as just temporary issue. clearing the cache should fix it as evidently, there isnt an issue *anymore*

Edit: But theres still the posibility that github just ratelimits you, for god knows why. In the last couple days i personally had issues accessing repos so could be just that too. Who knows.

Edit2:
Well, i shouldnt have mentioned it i guess 🙈

Haha nice😅

Btw there's nothing running on my unRAID box that would block anything...

please allow blocking of showing containers/plugins made by a certain dev, the sheer amount of stuff from grtgbin is overwhelming and takes way to much real estate when searching stuff and i can't believe they aren't ai generated things that'd i'd never trust to install anyway
