  • Well that was super frustrating but i found a way of moving the window around:- press and hold ALT then use left mouse button and you can then drag the window around and resize it correctly, once

  • The problem was that in 6.8.0-rc1  I could not access the the Flash Drive ( boot drive) from Krusader.   The reason being that Limetech has changed the permission to the flash drive when it is mounted

Try navigating to the windows youd like to be your new default and then inside Krusader go to Window>Save Position

Follow on to the above quote.  Is it possible to have Krusader run as the 'root' user?  It appears to me to be using a user in Group as that appear to be the permissions associated with the files and folders when I have a look at 'Root' of the file system using Krusader.

The problem was that in 6.8.0-rc1  I could not access the the Flash Drive ( boot drive) from Krusader.   The reason being that Limetech has changed the permission to the flash drive when it is mounted in the version.  The only way in this version (and all future versions) to access the drive is through SMB or as user 'root'.  (Understand that they are insistent that they are not going to change.)  Currently, Krusader is being run as user 'nobody'.

For anyone else looking for an answer, the answer is "YES".  All you have to do is edit the Krusader Docker and change the PUID and PGID to that for the 'root' user.  It is currently set for the 'nobody' user.   On my system, the 'root' PUID is 0 and PGID is 0.

I did run some tests and I did not find any problems after making the changes.

EDIT: 2021-05-05  I wanted add a cautionary security notice to this post.  There is a possibility that someone could access Krusader via a webrowser from any computer that has LAN access.  (If you made these changes, that person will have root privileges and can do a lot of mischief!  Of course, even without the changes, they could trash a lot of data files stored on the array because the possibility is still there to gain access.)  To prevent this from happening, you should 'Stop' Krusader from running except when you are actually using it.  This is not that much of usage issue as Krusader starts in a very few seconds when you want to use it.

I do not understand the relationship with my problem
Until now everything worked perfectly

The relationship is that your problem description boils down to "There's something wrong, I don't know what, but help fix it", and the link will hopefully supply the information that will answer the "I don't know what"

I just come back to restart the server
It remains stuck on "Array starting - Starting services"
All disks are mounted, shares are visible
Looks like the docker feature is a problem

then post the diagnostics

I have the led indicating disk access while I'm not accessing the server
In addition I have the four cpu of my i3 that indicate alternately 100% of use

Looks like it started up fine.  What's the problem with the webUI or are we back to just Krusader not working

Krusader has completely disappeared, docker is empty

Edited by sonata31380

I will try this
thanks for the help

Docker and Krusader relocated
Problem: krusader sees my shares but not the usb disk mounted under /mnt /disks
I first mounted the drive before starting krusader

I confess I do not understand what to do
Can you explain to me ?
Thanks in advance

Assuming that you've got /media in the template mapped to /mnt/user (which is default), then in order to access any unassigned device you have to add another path mapping of say /unassigned mapped to /mnt/disks with an access mode of RW:Slave

It's ok, thanks for the help

I just got this after starting Krusader

No changes to my configuration, auto update is enabled...

Any breaking changes that I need to update my configuration with?

As always your help is much appreciated Thanks!

UPDATE:

I found that if I changed my network to 192.168.0.13 it works?

I then tried to change network from Bridge to Host and then it didn't work on any network?

This wasn't a problem before 192.168.0.6 is my "primary" host network for Unraid so what can cause this?

not sure what you mean by this, thats an host ip address not a network, what exactly have you changed?

Hi @binhex

I just found by accident that if I used my secondary IP on my Unraid server then Krusader works? (Bridge as standard)

But for some reason when going to my Unraid UI and to the docker for Krusader and select launch "WebUI" it did not open anymore (Got above VPN error)

but if I manually changed the "WebUI" to my other IP 0.6 -->0.13 then it worked (Still in bridge mode)

(UPDATE: I just tested this again same machine and now it works on both IP's ???  - Sorry I haven't changed anything so maybe a glitch in my network?)

Thanks for all of your work this is a great docker couldn't live without it - All servers need a filemanager

  • 4 weeks later...

When trying to delete large files, like multiple gigabyte files, they won't delete. But when I delete smaller files, they delete fine. I'm not sure what the cutoff is between the 2, but I'll try a 14GB file, and nothing happens when I try to delete it. A small txt file, and no problem, deletes fine.

Permissions on everything are all 777.

When I used the other krusader docker, I never had this issue. I only recently switch to this flavor because the other gave me too many issues. How can I figure out what's causing this?
