Can you please explain what or how you are trying to connect?

Are you sure that NAT Reflection is working properly? Can you connect with your SERVERIP:7777

I was connecting via Ark and searching for my server in unofficial servers. I'm not sure I'm looking in the right place.

Also, I can't connect to the SERVERIP:7777. I'm assuming I should be able to

Did you change any of the settings or a settings file?

Is your server on the same subnet? Do you use the default bridge network or do you use a dedicated IP in br0 or eth0?

I’m using the default bridge network. I have not changed any of the files. I changed the container settings and that’s it. I even tried deleting the app data folder and starting from scratch but that didn’t help. My server is on the same subnet as my gaming PC. My network is basic for the most part. I have a UDM Pro and a 24 port switch and 10G aggregation switch that my servers and gaming pc are connected to.

Does anyone know how to get homeworlds working on Abiotic Factor with this unraid container? I tried creating an Admin.ini and adding myself to [Moderators] but it hasn't worked. I also tried logging in instead of an anonymous connection to SteamCMD...no dice.

Since you've did this, you'll have to start over.

Please don't use Steam credentials to log in my containers where it isn't strictly marked as required with the red asterisk.

Can you please describe what this means in detail or post a link to where I can find out more about that? I don't play Abiotic Factor anymore.

Hey ich,

It looks like your latest BeamNG MP server is 3.4.1 (December 2024). Since then They've been marked as pre-release and is currently at 3.8.5 (July 31). Do you have any plans to update?

Thanks

My containers are self maintaining, so to speak they update themself on restart, but the devs probably changed something and the update logic is broken, I will look into that and report back.

I should learn to read, if create a veriable with the Key: PRERELEASE and Value: true then the container will download the prerelease, if you ever want to go back to stable or better speaking latest, simply set the Value to false.

On 9/28/2025 at 9:06 AM, ich777 said:

I'll take a look at that again, but I would recommend that you start over:

  1. Delete the container

  2. Delete the folder for the container from your appdata directory

  3. Re-download the container from the CA App

  4. Let it start for the first time and see if downloads Zandronum properly

On my machine the download worked fine, I assume something is preventing or better speaking not working properly on your machine.

I tried several times over several days and nothing changes...
not working properly on your machine. Why ?
It worked very well before, I didn't change anything.

Hi, I host a dedicated Satisfactory server and it had been working fine. This morning we had a power cut and had to perform a graceful shutdown (ups). Once restarted the game can see the dedicated server but there are no game sessions. I can start a new game as if I've never played but where is my save? Any ideas how to get it back? Thanks

Thanks for looking into it! I've set the key and will test it on one of my hosted maps.

This is probably because you have /mnt/cache/appdata/... in you template and in your share settings you have selected that appdata is moved to another pool.

You have two options:

  1. Don't move appdata to another pool <- this is in my opinion the correct way

  2. Change the path in the template to /mnt/user/appdata/...

However to get your Installation up to date:

  1. Stop the container

  2. Remove the folder steamapps folder from the main directory for Project Zomboid

  3. Start the container

  4. Open the container logs and see if it verifies and pulls the files again

But before doing this please choose your preferred option from above.

Removing the Steam folder and reinstalling worked! thank you very much!

Oh, Icarus is working for you on LAN?
I wasn't able to find it on my machine, I had a similar issue here which was very strange since I couldn't find it on LAN but I could connect through it via my Favorites (however that means that you would have need to connected once successfully) :

I'm not 100% sure if there is an in game console where you could type in a command to connect to the server manually via your TailscaleIP:PORT, that would maybe work.

Please check the paths in your template, do the game files point to /mnt/cache/appdata/... if yes make sure that your appdata share stays on the cache in the Share settings and the Mover takes no action.

Reason behind this is if the Mover moves your data to another Pool then this would basically mean that container searches in /mnt/cache/appdata/... for the save files but mover has already moved it to /mnt/OTHERPOOL/appdata/... and your save file, is at least for the container, not there any more where it should be.

You have two options:

  1. Set the appdata share to stay on the cache and Mover takes no action

  2. Set the GameData Path to /mnt/user/appdata/...

However I would always recommend that you choose option 1 since your Containers should have always access to the data quick and you ensure it with that with the benefit that your Array can go to sleep.

There is also another option, that you even don't have /mnt/cache/appdata/... and that would mean your save file is gone because it was stored in RAM.

Thank you for the reply. The paths seem correct but I've been checking everything and it seems my satisfactory docker/files are on my scratch cache drive which is set up for downloads/file transfers etc then the mover moves to the main array. My 'static' cache drive is where my normal cache goes and all my other sockets are so I'm not sure how that's happened. Would it be a case of moving all the files to my other cache drive and hopefully my old save will show up?

That's the issue.

Yes, but please stop the container first and make sure to make backups of all data you currently have.
Please also check the container paths too since you have to ensure that the path to the game files matches to a Cache that is persistent and not moved from there, at least that is what I would recommend to do, you can also use /mnt/user/appdata/... but that it a thing that I wouldn't recommend.

Yeah i can connect just fine via lan, but this issue is getting friends on it. I dont belive Icarus has a game console to connect to the server manually. Guess ill just have to keep messing with it. Thank you for the response!

Hi there,

The Avorion server doesn't seem to fetch the latest version.
Mine's stuck at 2.5.2 but the latest (client) is 2.5.10.

And I can't seem to find any setting to force it to the current version.

Any chance this could be given a nudge to update properly?

Thanks!

  1. Stop the container

  2. Delete the steamapps folder from the avorion directory

  3. Start the container

  4. Open the container logs and see if it pulls the update

That seems to have done the trick!

Now I just have a connection issue, but that seems to be a known thing with the game itself.

Anyway, thanks for the quick reply!

Edit: All fixed!

Hi ich777, wanted to start off by saying thanks for developing and maintaining these gameservers. love the community and the help.

looks like Ark recently released update v73.22 and looks like containers are still spinning up v72.16. any plans on updating or is this something that is just delayed behind official update? i run a few unofficial servers and none are showing up after they updated for the Valguero release.

thanks for the help as always

Please look at this post, my containers are self maintaining and that means they update them self on restart if that is not working you can do that (of course it's another game but the same applies for your container) :

I'm successfully running a BeamMP server and am trying to get BeamJoy working to test it out.

It seems that I need to run a command as part of the installation and so far I've been unable to figure out how to do this.

I've asked on the mod maintainer's discord, BeamMP discord and Unraid discord, so thought I'd check here next.

The instructions at https://www.beamng.com/threads/beamjoy-the-all-in-one-multiplayer-framework-races-hunts-more.106205/ suggest that I need to run bj setgroup <your_playername> owner, however when opening the console from the game's icon in Unraid, I get root level access, without any game context.

I hope I'm missing something obvious. Any help greatly appreciated, and a few people waiting to hear back what I find out.

Thanks,

Yes, because that's the console from the Docker Container and not the Console from the Dedicated Server, that is however a common misconception.

To open the console from the Dedicated Server you have to click on WebUI.
