Hi, yes I saw this same reply above earlier so tried to change my password on my Terramaster NAS to exclude special characters but you need at least one, but the password was ok a few days ago, I changed it anyway but still no access.

I really think its something to do with Windows, wish I had never updated now, I really need to access this NAS but everything I try fails.

I'm working on a change to the UD password handling so special characters can be used.

Hi good news I'm back in, there was a hidden setting in Terramaster TOS that allows you to set a password without using special characters, so enabled that then reset password with no special characters and hey presto I'm back working again, thanks again for the help.

The next release of UD will have an update to the password handling so special characters will work.

I have never come across something like this before.  Does anyone have any explanation as to why I'm unable to mount this drive in U.D.?  I've pre-cleared the drive, formatted the drive multiple times and still I'm unable to mount the drive, it's simply unselectable.

Sometimes nvme drives have this problem after formatting.  Click on the double arrow icon on the upper right of the UD page and force udev to refresh the disk information.  It should then enable the mount button.

I could not find a "double arrow" icon but I did see a "refresh" Icon.  I clicked it and the mount icon was selectable.  Thanks.

Is there a reason why there are two devices listed for the one drive?  Both show the correct size (1TB) but only one is browsable and only one shows the reads and writes to it....

Just curious.

Yes, the refresh icon.  Is it not two arrows pointing to each other is a circle?

Show screen shot of what you are seeing.  I don't understand what you are asking.

I've never heard of it explained like that before. LOL!  You're not wrong though.  'two arrows pointing to each other'.  lol  Not laughing AT you - just laughing because I never thought of it that way.

Screenshot attached.  The top info displays the drive and read/writes FileSystem.  The bunch of numbers underneath it shows none of  the reads/writes but is 'clickable / browsable'

The first line is at the drive level, the second line is at the partition level.  If the drive had several partitions, you'd see partition size, used, and free for the partitions and the drive line would show all partitions size, used, and free.  Also things like temperature apply to the disk, and not the partition.

Today's release of UD:

  • Allows for the use of special characrers in passwords.  You shouldn't have to make any changes to update your passwords.  The UD update is backwards compatible to existing passwords.  If a password does appear to be failing after the update, re-enter the password.  i.e. Add a Remote Share back with the password re-entered.  There are differences now in how passwords are stored with special characters.
  • The 'Cancel' button on some dialogs was not the rightmost button.  The Unraid standard is for the rightmost button to be 'Cancel'.
  •  Adjust some NFS and CIFS mount options for robustness to better deal with network and remote server issues.  No functionality should be affected.

It's an issue in the newest UD release.  I'll have an update to fix this soon.

Is this a symptom of the issue?  All of a sudden none of my SMB shares (guest only) are no longer able to mount....

Unraid Server (Odin) is trying to Mount an SMB share from my OpenMediaVault (OMV.LOCAL or 192.168.X.XXX either way it fails to mount).

Yes!  It's the cifs: Unknown parameter 'retrans' that's the issue and needs editing or plucking out of the mount command (retrans=3).

Update just posted.  The 'retrans=' parameter is not available in 6.12 and earlier versions of Unraid because Samba does not support it.

Works like a charm, just updated and mounted without issue to a smb share on a Truenas box, thank you.

Thanks, it works perfectly now !

Have a drive that was in another Unraid box, and wanted to pre-clear it, but no matter what I do, the pre-clear fails with a message telling me the drive belongs to an array. It isn't. It is unassigned. I've added to the new array, removed it, cleared it, changed formats, etc. but just can't get it to the point where pre-clear will start the process. No issues with several other drives I've tried this with, just this one.

Thoughts?

Provide more information.  Post the Unraid logs and the log from preclear.
