UNRaid 7.0.0, having trouble copying to a mounted SMB share, I can see the contents of the shares and copy/move the files to UNRaid, but I have no option of /mnt/remotes/ when trying to copy from UNRaid disk shares back to SMB shares, I had makemkv and ripper extract to smb shares, can no longer do so as the path is not available, doesn't show as an option, I can cd into /mnt/remotes and see the shares there.

Same problem, I just notice that i was going to copy some files from unraid over to my NAS i couldn't fine the remote folder "remotes"
So no way to copy. I'm glad the share is working under the hood. B'cos I do have Plex, and lot of arr's that are using /mnt/remotes/............ etc.

Look at the image, the remotes folder is gone.

And here i'm trying to cope a file from unraid to my NAS that was located under the remotes folder. Is now gone.

Yes im having same issue as these fellow unraiders. looking for a solution. i even tried to remote the share and re-add it and no luck =(

There are two issues here:

  • The File Manager is not allowing any UD devices (/mnt/disks or /mnt/remotes) to be selected when trying to copy/move files from shares.
  • The file picker allows /mnt/disks to be chosen, but not /mnt/remotes.

Some changes were made in these two areas to try to control the path that can be selected.  We'll have to take another look at that.

Yes please, I hope you come out with a solution here. This is going to be problems with some containers that need a valid path.
For some reason all my ....arr's and Plex are still working.
But if you remove the path and try to add it again, It's gone. So you need to remember your remote patch...  /mnt/remotes/media/

I have to NAS, one BACKUP and MEDIA. Let's hope the backup is working, I'm using "Appdata Backup"

And if I remove the destination, I can't choose my remote backup location

The path is there and you can always type it manually, it's just the picker that seems broken.

I know that :) But what if you need manually to copy one file from download into your remote NAS, under lot of folder. I do have lot of subfolders.
Hopefully they going to fix this :)

Use something like Midnight Commander to move files and folders.

Hello everyone,

Is it normal that the spindown does not work with an external WD Elements hard disk (XFS format)? The hard disk is permanently switched on.

The hard disk also remains active via the manual spindown via the web interface. Does anyone still have the behavior and a solution for it?

Thanks!

Does it stop on other systems? Some enclosures simply don't support spindown.

@Kilrah yes on my local computer, disk will spindown/stop. Why not on Unraid?

How is it that you did this before?  The FIle Manager plugin incorporated into Unraid is the same it was on 6.12.

I don't know how.  Can you show me a screen shot of the File Manager when it showed the /mnt/remotes?

Hmm, well this mean I have to roll back to 6.12.14 from 7. I hope this now crash anything on my system.
So I can show you that i had access ti /mnt/remotes from "File manager" and also same path i can choose from my containers also.
This is gone, but like I wrote earlier is working under the hood. So that's why I didn't notice this issue until I was going to copy some files over to my NAS (remote)

Should be there when you add a "add remote smb/nfs share" Like I have two remote NAS.
Then it but the shares under automatic  /mnt/remotes/

image.png.bd9cc771960e2bf06e186a96bb345c41.png

The mount point was automatlic added under the share/mount point   /mnt/remotes/  like this:
/mnt/remotes/Backup  and /mnt/remotes/Multimedia

They both are gone from File Manager and from all the containers that i like to point to remote share.
All gone after upgrading to unraid 7.

Still don't see it.  I don't doubt you were able to see /mnt/remotes/, but I think it was with the file picker and not the file manager.  The file manager has always shown the /mnt/user/ shares as destination folders.

The file picker in 7.0 was changed and the /mnt/remotes/ does not show as indicated by some previous posts.  The file picker will be changed, but I'm trying to understand the issues with the file manager before making changes.

You don't need to.  I think you'll see the same thing I do.

Nice to see this is some kind of bug with the picker like you say has been changed in version 7.
Just let me know if you like me to roll back. :)

This is confusing.  The file manager has never shown the /mnt/remotes/ folder.  The remote shares are there, but with the change in the file picker, you can't select them in 7.0.  This means when you want to pick /mnt/remotes/... for a container, you will have to type the path and can't 'pick' the destination file/folder.

Yeah, It may be confusing, but I'm telling you that I could copy/move files from the File Manager before.

And like you say, now I need to type the /mnt/remotes/  manually since I can't pick that anymore for my containers. Is this a bug or it going to be like this now?
