Thank you so much for the quick reply. I'm trying to use HW decoding/encoding in Plex with the Core Ultra 7 265k but intel GPU Top doesn't appear to work with it and GPU statistics says vendor command issue, then plex can't "see" the iGPU (can't select it in options for HW encoding, etc). tower-diagnostics-20241220-1030.zip.crdownload

As said above no support for this iGPU in the current Kernel version, this has nothing to do with Intel GPU TOP. You have to wait for at leats Unraid 7.1.0 series. Unraid 7.0.0 will most likely stay on Kernel 6.6.x

Weird that other users were saying it was working on the betas - they must have been using newer kernels I think I read. I may go to one of them and try it out. Appreciate you!

Not Core Ultra CPUs, however there where a few betas that had Kernel 6.8 where it was indeed working but Unraid 7.0.0-rc.1 & rc.2 where downgraded due to Kernel 6.8 no longer being maintained and 6.6.x is now a LTS Kernel. Intel ARC on the other hand will work but not the iGPUs.
December 21, 20241 yr @ich777 I would like to test adding my iGPU (780M, Ryzen 7840HS) to the various reset methods in the vendor-reset plugin to see if any of them work. Could you please provide guidance on how to build the vendor-reset for Unraid? https://github.com/gnif/vendor-reset/issues/82

Sorry but I think you are out of luck with vendor reset since it is not designed for this kind of GPU, vendor reset was only necessary for some Vega, Navi and Polaris GPUs.

Thank for the quick respone. Do you may have a suggestion, how I could approach the reset issue for the for the 780m igpu instead? There is also on guy who commented on some the issues that it's worth trying through some of the methods. Since they might work also for other igpus. So anyhow I would like to give it a shot, but I couldn't figure out yet how to compile this for unriad. Edited December 21, 20241 yr by 10bn

Does your iGPU hang when you restart the VM? Gnif abanonded the project a while ago IIRC because AMD wasn't helpful at all. If you like it or not but in my opinion it would be best to get a Nvidia GPU and use your iGPU for transcoding. For example a Nvidia T400 only draws around 2 to 5 Watt when in idle. 44 minutes ago, 10bn said: So anyhow I would like to give it a shot, but I couldn't figure out yet how to compile this for unriad. I got an Nvida P4 which handles the transcoding, the 780m igpu is quite troublesome when used for transcoding. Edited December 21, 20241 yr by 10bn

Granted I don't know what you are using but Jellyfin should just work... 5 minutes ago, 10bn said: I got an Nvida P4 Isn't a P4 a bit overkill for transcoing? 5 minutes ago, 10bn said: I'll check the unraid kernel stuff you linked, thanks. Just be aware, that Vendor Reset was never a real solution and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't... Just a heads up to make you aware of that...
December 21, 20241 yr Quote Isn't a P4 a bit overkill for transcoing? yes ^^, but it was just 90€ and also draws around 5watts on idle. There is also an nvidia vgpu driver for unraid which should work with that card but I had no success setting it up. I might get a new board in the future that has more than one pci slot but for now things have to work like they are. As a last resort option i'll just never turn of the vm. 😅 Quote I'll check the unraid kernel stuff you linked, thanks. ok, thanks, maybe for now then I'll try the never turn of vm option. 🤣 Edited December 21, 20241 yr by ich777 removed link

Unfotunately non of the methods of the vendor reset worked.

From what I see the Kernel module now loads properly (since it was missing in the previous package): Dec 23 14:14:30 Unraid kernel: qnap_ec: loading out-of-tree module taints kernel. The fan plugin also seems that it applies the fan settings, at least it tries: ... What you could try is to remove the FAN plugin, reboot, install it again and configure it from scratch.
December 23, 20241 yr I did what you said. It finds pwm1 and pwm 7. It wont Apply pwm7. When I Apply pmw1 and then fan detect, thats when the fan keeps running at full speed. unraid-diagnostics-20241223-1508.zip

I assume it's more of an issue with the FAN plugin than the module if the FANs ramp up when the script or better speaking the FAN plugin kicks in. I'm really sorry but I don't have any QNAP hardware so I can't troubleshoot this further, however if the FANs at least are ramping up and the module loads fine (which we can see in your syslog) then I assume it's more of an issue with the FAN plugin.
