It seems like the iGPU is not activated since I even don't see it in the output from lspci, only the ASPEED one is visible.

Please go into the BIOS and make sure to set the iGPU to the primary display and make sure Multi Monitor Support is enabled.

After that it should hopefully show up in your system devices and be usable again.

It works now. Thanks again.

  • can i be the first to say, wow!, i can see how this will be VERY useful for people wanting to pass through hardware to containers, and now being able to build out an image is impressive work indeed!,

  • Im still confused by him. He does not want to update to 8.6.3 from 8.6.2 due to personal reasons. Yet he keeps saying the only thing it fixed was a venerability. So I guess that he needs this venerabi

I've took a look at your Diagnostics...

It also wasn't working on 6.12.14 from what I can see since the driver was not loaded in syslog-previous.txt so I assume it wasn't working for a bit.

Did you maybe upgrade your BIOS at some point and maybe forgot to set the iGPU to the primary output and didn't enable Multi Monitor output?

I'm not sure if those diagnostics are messed up because I downgraded to 6.12.14 and it didn't work even after doing that. I did recently update the BIOS but would have sworn it was working fine with GPU statistics after that. I would have noticed it I think but regardless it's resolved now.

Thanks for taking a look.

I don't see anything suspicious from your logs, from what I can tell the dGPU should work, both the driver for your iGPU and dGPU are loaded fine.

I just tried it on Unraid 7.0.0 and everything is working on my Arc A580:

I see you have an A580 working, is this possible right now with the latest 7.0? Or would i need to migrate to a different version of unraid for a different kernel.

Thanks,

Denellum

Intel Arc A-series (Alchemist) cards should work in 7.0.  B-series (Battlemage) support will likely come with whatever Unraid version includes Linux kernel 6.12+.

Hi,

What about "Firewire Drivers" ? Will this plugin may be updated for last unraid ?

The Firewire drivers are integrated into the base OS since Unraid 6.11.0 IIRC and the plugin is therefore not needed anymore.

Does anyone have performance numbers for expected remux 4K UHD streams transcode to 1080p 12Mbps HEVC (latest plex public release) on 12th gen intel?  I have a 12600k, Plex as docker on Unraid and can only just process 2 transcode stream HEVC 4K Remux to HEVC 1080p 12Mbps. Occasional pause / buffer on second stream. Can confirm that HW transcode is working. Intel_gpu_top shows the 3D load at 100%.

If running a single remux UHD Remux HEVC to 1080p 12Mbps HEVC the fastest speed shown is 2.3x but it can drop down under 2x .

I would recommend that you create a post on the Plex support thread since you would definitely get more feedback there.

Has anyone had their Hardware transcoding performance on Arc tank since the latest update? I'm trying to find a way to revert to the October release in case that's the issue, I'm not sure if that's the reason why I'm having issues but at around the time of the latest release I can't use my gpu for transcoding anymore without constant buffering. Nothing changed on my end except for regular plugin updates. It took me a while to notice, my users reported it late unfortunately. iGPU works as expected but its old.

What card exactly?

On my Asrock A580 everything is working fine with Jellyfin.

Can you please share a bit more information on your system?

Diagnostics would be super helpful.

What container are you using? Have you considered that this could also be possibly an issue with the container that you are using since the libraries and runtimes must be shipped with the container.

Please share your Diagnostics but as said, it might be also a container issue, it is really hard to tell with that less information.

I'm using an Asrock Intel Arc A380 6gb and the linux server flavour of plex docker container. I tried using the official one too but I ran into the same exact issue but it was using the same app data folder (only noticed the option to specify a different one after testing) so maybe that's why, i haven't gotten around to doing another test with a separate app data folder. I attached my diagnostics.

Edit: I just ran another test using the official plex docker container (this time with its own app data dir) and ran into the same exact problem. Can someone help me revert to an older version of Intel_GPU_TOP so i can see if thats actually the issue?

plex claims itself there is no ARC support (yet), only saying it "can" work when you take care of the needed drivers yourself ... thats the current state from plex side currently.

I fixed it, I removed some plugins i wasn't using a while back ,one of them was this one. Reinstalled it and that fixed the issue. Weird, plugin never worked on my system... at least its fixed!

If you don't use it then please remove it.

Please note that if you remove the plugin and install it again you would need have to reboot anyways to apply the settings.

It should be enough to install Intel-GPU-TOP.

is this supposed to work with a 9950x igpu? getting device driver error code 43 after the first shutdown/boot up of the vm using the igpu

Hello! First post here

Mellanox Plugin

I've been struggling with a new Mellanox NIC, and wanted to make sure I understood what the correct settings were to set this up properly.

The main issue I ran into is getting VFS exposed/visible.

I was able to update the firmware normally using mstflint and the Mellanox Plugin you so graciously created but I am not able to see any evidence of the VFS or SRIOV in the /sys directory.

Some of the documentation I was able to find from Nvidia states that for Linux it's normally required to manually "echo >" some chosen value into the appropriate directory, but this file is not visible on my system and I'm getting permission issues when I try to do it anyway:

~# echo 13 > /sys/class/net/eth2/device/sriov_numvfs
-bash: /sys/class/net/eth2/device/sriov_numvfs: Permission denied

I've tried multiple flash kernel parameters disabling enabling ASPM (that's a whole rabbit hole) ACS, I'm explicitly enabled all virtualization based features in my BIOS, I've also most recently tried this as well:

=============================================
append pcie_aspm=off pci=assign-busses,realloc pci=nocrs pcie_acs_override=downstream,multifunction video=efifb:off isolcpus=10-15,18-23,28-31,42-47,50-55,60-63 initrd=/bzroot

=============================================

I've tried enabling and disabling Resizable BAR, CSM and allowing IOMMU as "Auto" vs. "Enabled" - SRIOV is explicitly enabled in the bios

I also tried removing bridging from the interfaces, and checking for VFS in the "Tools" and via lspci/mstconfig without success.

All of these attempts had reboots between in an effort to reload.

dmesg shows some information - like that other interfaces on the motherboard support SRIOV for example which is somewhat helpful in understanding what might cause this issue.

Pretty novice when it comes to pcie, subsystems - I've made sure to configure SRIOV and VFS on the card as well - any assistance is deeply appreciated!

Some clues:

PCIe x4 seems to be negotiated - even though it's on a 16 slot which supports 16 (limited by another chipset PCIe device/switch however, not due to capacity issues)

For context: Mellanox PCIe 21:00.0 & 21:00.1 represent PF/physical SFP 25Gb interfaces

Happy to include any logs as needed, I wasn't sure which information was best to include for troubleshooting this problem.

My hope is that this post might help other Unraid users using Mellanox cards to set up some of the cooler features more easily.

Thank you!!

Hi all, im wondering if i can get some help here, im trying to see how much power draw my intel arc a380 is using during idle and transcoding to get an idea what it needs.

However in intel gpu top there seems to be no output displayed related to power draw, is this something thats known about or is it just a limitation of intel_gpu_top that doesnt output power? I've seen screenshots online of other gpus showing power useage thats all

Not all cards support that feature.

Just issue:

sensors

from a Unraid terminal and it should be listed there.

dGPUs work differently than iGPUs and therefore you won't see all values through intel_gpu_top

Ah okay no worries! Thank you for clearing that up, ive checked sensors and its not there either, im assuming itll be available in a later kernel update or something along those lines

It should be listed under PCIe divices.

Yeh its listed there but theres no power stat i mean,
root@Tower:~# sensors
i915-pci-0300
Adapter: PCI adapter
in0:         920.00 mV
power1:           N/A  (max =  43.00 W)
energy1:     485.00 kJ

theres energy1 which with a script i could potentially get a rough estimate

This used to work but suddenly stopped (along with plex hardware transcoding), any ideas?
