The Dynamix System Autofan that I use hasnt been updated for well over a year.

Maybe that's the colprit but I'm not sure about that, it's really hard for me to diagnose because I don't have any QNAP hardware.

As said, I assume that the QNAP-EC plugin is working properly since the fans now spin up or at least spin differently.

Isn't there another fan controll plugin out there?

Hi,

First of all best wishes for 2025 : )

I struggle with getting my iGPU to work.
The system-board doesn't have a video-port but as seen in this video (https://youtu.be/EpAS7ly8p4A) around 12:00.
We guy said the iGPU is working in Windows, But on Reddit someone else said that it won't work because "no power lines for the iGPU" So mayby you guy's can get something clear. Thanks in advance.

My Hardware setup like this:

  • Board: MSI MEG Z690 UNIFY (MS-7D28)
  • CPU: 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-13700K
  • Memory: 32 GiB DDR5
  • GPU: Nvidia Quadro P4000

First of all you also have a Nvidia dGPU installed, therefore you have to make sure to enable MultiMonitor support in your BIOS, what this does is that it simply let's the iGPU enabled if a dGPU is found.

Usually if a dGPU is found the iGPU get's disabled by the BIOS, by enabling MultiMonito support in your BIOS you circumvent that.

BTW, I would strongly recommend for maximum compatibility that you upgrade to Unraid 7.0.0-rc.2 or at least to 6.12.14

You have pretty new hardware and therefore I would recommend you use the RC to make sure everything is working as expected (the RC is as stable as the Stable release, I have it installed on my server since day one).

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

This weekend i did some changes to the server and upgraded it to 7.0.0-rc.2 and to the newest BIOS version.

But there is no change, Then i changed the setting as in the image "VGA Detection" to IGNORE.

In my opinion should would this setting the bios ignore if there is a DGPU or IGPU and just skip the check.

But this didn't change for me the fact that it ain't working.

Do you have some other advice?

Thanks

I don't think that this is the correct option...

You should have some setting that is called Multi Monitor Support but I'm not too familiar with MSI BIOS.

Need to switch from PEG to IGD>

Hi @ich777!

Thank you so much for your work! I saw that you have a new plugin extending NUT. Would it be possible for you to support apcupsd as well? I have an APC UPS, and from what I see regarding this topic everywhere is that NUT doesn't come close to offering the same support for APC devices that apcupsd does, so I do not want to needlessly switch services. But I would love for the ability to turn off certain VMs and containers based on the UPS status.

If support for apcupsd isn't possible, I will try using NUT instead.

Sorry but I don't have a APC UPS and really don't know how this thing even works.

Without any actual hardware on hand it is really hard for me to test and look into that, for the time being only NUT is supported and I only can tell you for me the shutdown and start from the containers is working flawlessly. I have to admit that I didn't have any power outages lately, but from my testing it is working just fine. A few users gave me feedback that everything was working as expected for them, please note that you have to define which containers you don't want to stop, by default the plugin will stop everything, except for the Array (but the plugin will also try to spin down all devices if a power outage occurs).

BTW I'm not sure if NUT lacks any features that you would really need.

Hope that helps.

Do you need it set to IGD to use your gpu in unraid. I have a problematic intel arc card that i cant seem to get to function.

okay so reading through the comments here stil ahve some questions
i have 2 intel arc 770
if i understand correctly the real power management and igpu abilities to use them all and have better power controls will be in linux kernel 6.8? or am i missing something

if I am missing something the reason for my question is that my two intel gpus show as 0 watts but clearly isn't the case when i have my cpu limited power wise to under 100 watts. so the gpus are using something but i want to get their idle lower

Maybe it isn't possible yet though

On what Unraid version are you? Can you please update your Diagnostics.

You have to be at least on Unraid 7.0.0 so that the card will even work, on older Unraid versions it will not work.

Kernel 6.8 is not available yet in Unraid.

Unraid 7.0.0 stable is on Kernel 6.6.x however a new beta build should follow up soon with a newer Kernel.

Exactly, you have to wait for the new beta with a newer Kernel (will be possibly Kernel 6.12.x since Unraid is now tied to the ZFS development and this is the highest version that ZFS currently supports now)

I am currently on Unraid 7.0. I have attached my diagnostics. Not to sure what the issue is. I just switched things back to my intel chip for transcoding for the time being.

I don't see anything suspicious from your logs, from what I can tell the dGPU should work, both the driver for your iGPU and dGPU are loaded fine.

I just tried it on Unraid 7.0.0 and everything is working on my Arc A580:

Maybe i got a bummed card? it seems pretty straight forward to get working. I haven't tried the card in another pc.

Maybe, you could try to reseat the card in the PCIe slot and check the power cables if they are all the way plugged in.

Tried it. Same result unfortunately.  Its weird its outputting video to a monitor so it is working in that sense.

I have a 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12500 @ 3000 MHz on a Supermicro X13SAE-F. Today I started emby and used the transcoding feature. I noticed high CPU use.

intel_gpu_top -L shows:

root@Tower:~# intel_gpu_top -L
card0                    1a03:2000                         pci:vendor=1A03,device=2000,card=0

It seems that it is not longer working. Is it correct that it will not longer work on the current kernel?

Good Afternoon,

After upgrading to 7.0 stable my Intel Quicksync no longer works on my i5-12600k. I have tried plugging a monitor in and multiple reboots but no luck. It was working fine before the update.

Edit. I was able to resolve this by going into the bios and changing the chipset settings from auto to integrated graphics. Not sure why it worked fine for over a year on auto prior to 7.0 but it's working now.

It sure does, please post your Diagnostics.

What container are you using (repository)?

I've took a look at your Diagnostics...

It also wasn't working on 6.12.14 from what I can see since the driver was not loaded in syslog-previous.txt so I assume it wasn't working for a bit.

Did you maybe upgrade your BIOS at some point and maybe forgot to set the iGPU to the primary output and didn't enable Multi Monitor output?

Installed is embyserver (not the beta one).

dri is added in the settings with /dev/dri.

It seems like the iGPU is not activated since I even don't see it in the output from lspci, only the ASPEED one is visible.

Please go into the BIOS and make sure to set the iGPU to the primary display and make sure Multi Monitor Support is enabled.

After that it should hopefully show up in your system devices and be usable again.

Ah...you might be right. I changed the mainboard (RMA). Maybe I haven't switched it on after I changed it.

I will check....thanks.
