  1. The LSI controllers also come in 16 port variants (although they work out to be more expensive per SATA port) just in case your motherboard is short of free slots.
  2. I can see ‘make’ as one of the Devpack pakages. Whether that is enough to resolve your original problem I do not know.
  3. The DevPack plugin allows one to select from a wide range of development related tools. If you install the plugin do not forget that no packages are actually installed until you go to Settings->Dev Pack and select them for install.
  4. Just to clarify, all devices attached to the server at the time the array is started count regardless of whether they are being used by unRAID. Once the array is started then you can plug in additional drives that will show up under Unassigned Devices. However since you upgraded your unRAID license this clarification is probably no longer relevant
  5. What license do you have? The check on the number of devices is only carried out when starting the array, so if you have the Basic license then you probably did not have the unassigned device connected when you last started the array.
  6. Just a guess, but it is likely that the source files only get removed on completion of the move.
  7. Although I have no idea on the mining it is worth pointing out that unRAID will never allow a vdisk to be bigger than the physical disk on which it resides. With unRAID each physical disk is a discrete file system and an individual file always has to reside on a single disk, which is why no file can be bigger than the physical disk.
  8. Missed that in the screenshot! Was intent on looking for a more complicated answer
  9. Maybe you are going to need a more relaxed Split Level setting to get the behaviour you want? Without some example of the paths of your files it is difficult to recommend an optimum Split Level Settings and even whether that is your problem in the first place. However I must admit I would have thought that new movies should end up on the new disk. have you tried leaving the Included/Excluded disk entries empty for the share (I.e. all drives allowed by Global Settings can be used). I would also recommend leaving the Global Level entries blank unless their is a good reason not to. With such a long list of drives if there are any to NOT be used for User Shares maybe the exclude entry makes more sense (you should never use both).
  10. What Split Level do you have for the share in question? Split Level will over-ride the Allocation method if there is any contention as to which disk to use.
  11. Whether the WiFi on the Pi Zero W is as good as your phone I have no idea, but my Pi Zero W connects via WiFi without problems from anywhere in my house so I would expect it would do the job for you.
  12. There are multiple Pi Zero models! The base (cheapest) one does not have WiFi. The Pi Zero W is the one that has WiFi (and Bluetooth) support added ar a little additional cost.
  13. The latest unRAID 6.5.2 release has an option to open a command line shell within a running docker container. This might allow you to poke around inside each docker to try and work out what is using up the space.
  14. I would it is time to update the minimum requirement for unRAID v6 to be 2GB?
  15. There is not really an OK number - just that the number stays stable. If it keeps increasing then that is a typical sign of a disk that might fail in the near future. Having said that I would be worried about any disk where the number is not in single figures even though technically a disk typically has thousands of spare sectors that can be used for reallocation.
  16. Yes - simply enter the address of the one you want to use. As long as they are all on the same LAN this should work fine.
  17. The dyndns feature is aimed at keeping your networks external IP address synchronised with a domain name (your ISP can arbitrarily change the external address unless you explicitly pay to have a fixed address). As such it is independent of the incoming VPN other than to allow a constant network name to be used when connecting externally). The VPN feature applies after (using the dyndns address) you have tunnelled into your home network. At that point you can see anything on your home network that is visible to the VPN server on your home network. You now use addresses on your local LAN to access such devices. it is important to realise that these are two independent services that are typically used to solve two different problems you encounter when trying to set up external access. the dyndns service gives you a consistent network name that can be used externally to refer to your home system the VPN service allows you to securely tunnel into your home network so you have the same capabilities as when you are locally attached to your home network.
  18. How do you see the files from your Android device when it is locally connected? You should do the same thing with the VPN active. Presumably you run sort of File Manager app on the Android device.
  19. You access them just as if you were locally connected to your LAN. With a VPN connection active you are emulating being locally connected.
  20. If you click on the orange icon in the Dashboard page there is an option to acknowledge the value there.
  21. You CAN use the array while a disk is being rebuilt as the missing disk is emulated by the combination of the other disks plus parity. However you will notice performance degradation - the amount being dependant on your hardware. Many users prefer to not use the array while a disk is being rebuilt but that is a personal preference and not mandated by unRAID.
  22. Any top level folder is automatically a share whether you create it via the GUI or not. If the files are not in a folder then mover will leave them alone anyway.
  23. Thanks for that information - it explains why there is no such option. I think I will have to continue to use a ‘stop’ file then. I have some actions that I do not necessarily want to happen when the array stops if the system is then not going to shutdown. Maybe I should be requesting that unRAID introduces a shutdown event?
  24. I was wondering if a new scheduling option can be added to run a script on system shutdown? At the moment I do by a config/stop script but it would be nice to move this to something I can maintain via the GUI.
  25. With the current unRAID implementation if you use a cache pool running in BTRFS RAID 1 mode (the default) then the contents of the cache are protected until mover runs to transfer the files to the array. Not decrying the idea of something more intelligent but I suspect what you are asking for may require a significant development and thus not likely to appear in the near future.
