  1. RX 5700 XT working flawlessly now. Also, this post helped a bit. unraid v6.12.6 Thank you ich777!
  2. The plugin suggestion and your instructions made my wildest dreams come true. RX 5700 XT working flawlessly now. unraid v6.12.6 Thank yins.
  3. I’ve experienced a similar issue attempting to pass through an rx5700xt to windows VMs. XFX Rx580 passthrough on the same unraid box is successful to all my VMs. I’ve been booting via uefi so the next step of my troubleshooting is to try legacy boot. It may be important to note that my 5700xt is an Ali express card. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I was chasing disk errors that were spamming my logs for quite a while and stumbled across Scrubbing. The correlation between unclean shutdowns and my numerous disk errors did not register between my ears. Plus, I had a disk fail during the dark phase of this journey. I chalk it up to being a a newer unraid user, unfamiliar with Linux, unfamiliar with btrfs, and with NAS practices in general. Pain is an opportunity for growth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Many thanks to ya'll for this info. I've been trying to reduct Disk IO Wait. Based off of what i've read this is a logical step in that process.
  6. I eliminated the disk. Errors are no longer spamming my logs. I'll continue to monitor but it appears either the port or disk was the problem. Thanks again for your persistence in helping me diagnose this.
  7. I'm going to RTFM for replacing the SSD. I may shrink my cache pool. Dunno yet. Thanks again for taking the time to assist. I greatly appreciate it.
  8. Thank you sir. By device do you mean the disk or mobo sata port being the culprit? I am planning on replacing the disk. I’m out of sata ports. thanks again for your assistance
  9. JorgeB, Thanks for your assistance. I've replaced the cable feeding WDC_WDS500G2B0A-00SM50_21101A803695 EDIT: After replacing the cables I noticed continued errors spamming my logs. So I updated MOBO BIOS. Errors persist. Log 2355 is the most recent. Thanks again ashla-234-diagnostics-20230911-1758.zip ashla-234-diagnostics-20230911-2355.zip
  10. Hello, I've been trying to troubleshoot a nearly full Log. I would appreciate any information ya'll could provide for resolving this. I've reviewed search results within the forum but I'm having a hard time pinpointing the cause of my syslog being spammed. I'm a combination of relatively new user and idiot. NerdTools is no longer installed, error persists Smart tests of cache disks are completed w/o error. Functionality of server is fantastic apart from when the log fills to 100% Rebooting temp clears log but quickly fills again Diag has been attached. Thanks bunches. ashla-234-diagnostics-20230910-2228.zip
  11. Thank you sir. This is my first adventure into lxc containers so I automatically assumed I had F'd something up as per usual. I'll investigate the syntax and whatnot for installing from the terminal. Thanks for creating and maintaining the plugin.
  12. Just to bump this, as of 115EST installation of alpine 3.18 was functional. Thank god I read through a bunch of comments. I was losing my mind. Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian creations gave the impression of success but failed. I didn't try any others. Thanks,
  13. Thank you kind sir @shakinbacon. You are an angel. This is a still a viable solution. Windows 10 VM Steam Elden Ring I did not delete references to hyperV, however. I'm lazy and will procced down that path if performance sucks. Thanks again for your information!
  14. I'm passing through an AMD Dell RX570x w/ windows 10. I had a few Linux VMs passing thorugh the same GPU w/ no problem. I rolled back to 6.11.5 now i'm all good.
  15. Guacamole is a great tool but exposing it makes me nervous. I setup a quick and dirty VPN w/ tailscale. Package is available in Apps but I installed TS in pfSense.
  16. Looking for a push in the right direction. I've had GPU passthrough working for quite a while until today. I swapped GPUs for a bit and reinstalled the original. The GPU i tested sucked so I rolled back to my original, AMD RX570X. I was able to boot a VM successfully once. Now unraid is complaining about VFIO_MAP_DMA failed: Invalid argument What I've done so far: Rebooted Bind/Unbind GPU Reseated GPU I've searched a bit but couldn't find a solution to this problem. Any ideas? I've attached my diagnostics. Current GPU: AMD RX570x Error: qemu-system-x86_64: VFIO_MAP_DMA failed: Invalid argument Unraid 6.12.1 Edit: Attached additional error msg ashla-234-diagnostics-20230626-1718.zip
  17. I dig it. From the point of view of a relatively new Unraid (and linux in general) user, documentation is rather plentiful. However, a lot of info i've found, while absolutely valid and effective, can be a few years old. (Example being VM HW passthrough.) Thats not necessarily a complaint due to the consistency of Unraid. This is by far the most intuitive NAS OS I've ever used. Having a centralized, simple to navigate, up-to-date documentation DB would inspire a bit more confidence. I could be way off base and missing a bunch of info. This is just my perspective at this point.
  18. Solid move, team. Documentation is strong within Unraid. I'd like to contribute to modernizing docs if I could. I'm still green AF w/ linux but still could be a useful idiot.
  19. Although I was not able to successfully use the script, I was able to follow the manual method successfully. In hindsight it was fairly simple. After restoring a VM for the first time, I noticed a few things: In the future, choose VM names carefully. No spaces or weird shit. Remember previous rule. I suspect the issues I had w/ the script were a result of my naming scheme for vms not being consistent or based in reality. I noticed my mistakes while reviewing the .xml file. VM name was "Windows_10" but I must have renamed it at some point in the past because within the XML i noticed "Windows 10". I also removed the date from the .fd file. The XML referenced an .fd file w/o a date in the name. Unraid v6.11.5
  20. I may have overlooked the instructions in the forums but where do I submit my diag zip? I encounted issues running VMs on latest RC so I had to roll back to stable. Here's a snapshot of the error I was experiencing: 2023-05-10T19:39:07.746549Z qemu-system-x86_64: VFIO_MAP_DMA failed: Invalid argument Rolld back to stable and all is well in the world now. Edit. Disregard. I'm a fool. Got a local issue that may not be related to the RC. I have no shame though. I lost my self respect years ago in the meme wars.
  21. 40gb non-ecc in primary as well as secondary box. Magically each machine that I acquired arrived w/ 8gb.
  22. This is a pretty cool product. I've successfully spun up my first NAS and created a few containers and VMs (with gpu passthrough to boot) and couldn't be more pleased with the OS. The documentation and supplemental content (YouTube, other forums) that I've found for Unraid has been fantastic. Thanks again for all the work everyone has put in to this project.
