@ljm42 i did check today when i tried to follow the instructions and run the script to shrink array article.. everything i have is reference the first 2 drives then let loose on the rest lol so i think im safe there?

@ljm42 ah i didnt see that when i did the new config there was just none all slots and all i chose all as i usually jsut replace a bad drive never downsized lol... learning moment lol excuse to buy another 12 or 14tb to shove in the disk 4 slot lol

@ljm42well i have 27tb free well not 25tb free.. and i wanted to take out the 2TB drive as my others are all 12 and 14tb drives but i may have to add another 12 or 14tb i removed disk4 the 2tb drive well now it goes disk 1 2 3 5 6 7 lol guess i did something wrong i preserved it all as i feared if i do none i loose all my data i usually add a drive or replaced a drive never reduced a drive lol

ok i re paritying least i got the drive removed.. just the save parity never worked..... go figure.. but least its pariting and array back online

ah ok.. and ya its showing now.. i dunno if something broke in unraid int last couple weeks.. as it was working but when i did a reboot i wasnt able to mount anymore... but ya when i search it shows up the shares.. and i can mount it now.. dunno what happened ... weird

ah ok it jiust can create the share successfully just cant mount it afterwards.. what about hidden shares

i guess its working again... after couple reboots and re creating the user name i had before.. will allow me mount the it.. dunno why it didnt before? so what i did was i erased the user name on my main server .. and re created it... as i guess user name root isnt allowed to be used.. but i did use a user name prior.. but i deleted it rebooted everything re created it and now its all mounting again... on the other unraid servers i didnt delete the remote share links i hit mount and they mount again.. as i was testing on the backupserver... so not sure what when wrong.. but too late to find out diagnostics i guess as i rebooted and re created teh user name

the only other thing i can think of it is recently did the "docker update" addon.. dunno if it has anything to do with it.. other then that everything auto updates each night too.. so i dunno what to check? update.. so i apparently can't mount any smb share so i create a remote share i do a search it finds my servers.. so i can do hostname or ip address i type in root for user and password i click next on the domain i click search for shares.. but it never finds any.. so i manually type it in.. then click submit then i get success... then i try to mount the share and it wont if i create a user name and use it to create a link to a rootshare i can see the share names and when i click submit.. it says sucessful.. but i still cant mount it ill try deleting all remote shares on backupserver and main server.. reboot everything and then re try the user name i used.. since i could see the shares but it wouldnt mount.. maybe a another clean reboot will help

@dlandon yes correct ip so if i do the ip or host name i enter the user name and password and then the share "root" i click submit.. it then says successfully created.. and then when i go to mount it it throws me the error.. it was working a week or 2 ago and if i do a Windows mapped network drive to the same directory that works fine so like z: = \\192.168.0.3\root that has no problem mounting z: the problem is unraid to unraid i was thinking it might be one of the last ud updates in the last couple weeks that maybe stopping it to mount.. i only found out when i rebooted the unraid servers.. that it wasnt auto mounting anymore

@itimpi it used to work i only noticed last couple days.. as i could no longer access it from any of the servers... as i use my other unraid servers as backup and tdarr nodes and it wasnt able to do it anymore main server is set for smb security public auto case sensitive and yes to force a nobody as i used to use rootshare as my rootshare.. in the one section but with the one of recent space invaders videos he no longer does the hard code the rootshare and does the UD rootshare.. but i could not use the name rootshare in UD guess its protected. so went the root name but now its not mounting and i get that error

hi im unable to mount remote s hares i have on my main server... a rootshare called "root" and its mounted but when any of my servers try to mount to it i get this error Mar 9 10:08:20 backupserver kernel: CIFS: VFS: \\192.168.0.3 failed to connect to IPC (rc=-13) Mar 9 10:08:20 backupserver kernel: CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -13 i have tried removing all shares and re adding doesnt help here is a diagnostic from my backup server i wanting to connect to the main server backupserver-diagnostics-20230309-1010.zip

so i finally got it setup.. but am i doing something wrong? its horriblly slow choppy mostly black screens i going to have least 30 reolink cameras hooked up to shinobi if it works .. right now i got 6.. but its god awful slow. its not perfectly smooth like the Reolink software in windows.. if you double click in shinbio the camera it may work and the clock shows it updates like ever 4 5 seconds.. not every second.. so its not streaming like 30fps.... or it a gray screen with a spinning wheel in the center.. or its just a black screen.... what is going on.. why cant it just load and work like the reolink software... is there something i need to get it to work smoothly ?

is this app broken? one the icon is always the gray ? mark from the Community app page.. and every time i install it and try to run it once you login /super page it tells me the maria database didnt work.. and in the video doesnt show how to make this database.. and the link for it doesnt work inside unraid the mysql etc ive uninstalled deleted the folder.. rebooted re installed 10 times always cuz i wanna fix the root/root (0) i used to get the "test .txt" file errors with the wrong spacings that are not compatible in windows and also scan for errors of like same folder names videos Videos unraid considers them 2 different but windows buggers up and only chooses one.. so i need a scanner to tell me these errors is there another scanner to scan these then? for these common issues

ah ok cuz i used it to remove the non windows files with the extra space padding extended scans found that are not compatible for windows shares but were there in for unraid so how do i scan for those files then as i used it to clean up those files is there another program plugin to scan for incompatible windows files etc

the extended scan has gone missing... is there a glitch or something that removed it as i wanted to run an extended scan but i cant find it

is there a way to set that when tdarr is encoding to the new mkv that it doesnt save any of the meta data.. like start blank it seems to copy over the meta data.. and i wanna erase it so there is no none.. is there a setting to do this

hi i have slow internet.. and id like a feature.. i have 5 unraids on my network.. when an OS comes out it takes along time.. sometimes Web browser closes the popup and causes me to have to re start over very frustrating... as i get to like 80% downloaded then browser closes the pop up and i loose all the downloading takes over and hour to get to 80% and then boom gone and now i gotta restart.. frustrating id like to see a couple features... 1.. have option in "Settings" for a OS UPDate, so it 1. Auto Update when an update avaiable... 2. Broadcast to a List Of Servers You have say 5. or 10 and you list the Servers.. it willl copy the Update to to 5 or 10 servers to a folder.. instead of having to copy to each flash yourself or have to re download.. 3. auto reboot after update option,, auto reboot all servers after update if selected 2.. download the Update automaticlly... like home assistant,, or windows update, or a norton antivirus corporate and download like when you install LibreElec OpenElec, or VM Vmanagers Virto drivers so it downloads 9% 20% done etc.. so if the exploer pop up closes it doesnt screw up the update and make you start over from scratch. make it so it downloads direct and can "resume" if loss of internet... not all have fast internet.. i get like 3 megabit internet if im lucky.. and any features maybe to add later.. but its a start what be good too is if the plugins and docker page.. if you say you have multi apps across unraids like krusder, plex, whatever and unassigned devices... if the main server updates.. be able to push those updates to the other servers too.. as some take a long time to download when you have piss poor internet speeds.. just like how the norton works or say a workstation updates 1 downs and pushes them to all the other nodes

ya doesnt show in the Samba shares so when i access my server after i share the UD "transport data" it doesnt throw it in the SMB shares of the server.. it used to work but i dont remember which ud plugin it worked last on as i constantly update it ive tried saving a default script to see if thats what i needed to get it to share.. but wouldnt work either tardis-diagnostics-20220918-2206.zip

what do i need to do to get the UD to share... i know it used to work in the past but i was trying to use it again but it wont share the share is enabled.. for the NTFS 1TB drive i have in UD but it wont show up as a windows share... is there something new that has to be done extra to get it to share even reboot doesnt help

how do i setup tdarr with a AMD radeon video card.. i watched space invaders video but he only does nvida and installs a nvidia driver i tried searching apps for a radeon drivers it only had radeon top i installed but i cant find any info or what not to setup more.. any instructions?
