March 29, 201313 yr I had transmission running, with several active torrents. I had need to reboot the server and when it came back online, all my torrents are missing - shouldn't they be preserved over a reboot? Since we often have several powercuts a day, this won't be very usable. Edit: It's also forgotten the downloads location. Edit 2: Okay, resolved! It wasn't clear what information is held in the Transmission 'Data directory' and I had assumed, foolishly, that if the data was critical, it would be copied away to permanent storage on shutdown. Clearly, the data is critical, and it isn't preserved. Having assigned the 'Data directory' to non-volatile storage, all seems well. I guess that the relevant advice about this is on the forum somewhere, but with ten pages in this thread, 120 pages in Influencer's thread and 47 pages in the original unMenu package thread, it is difficult to know where to begin looking! I also have another question - on the Transmission plugin configuration screen, there are two fields whose function is not clear: 'Show storage memory usage' and 'Show data persistency Information'. Both of these appear to default to 'Yes', but I haven't got a clue where this information will be shown. Can anyone give me any guidance? Edit 3: Oh, and one more question - how can I discourage Transmission from filling the syslog with all its informational log entries?

September 8, 201312 yr None of the links above are working for me. Let's just say someone was considering keeping this up to date. Could someone give me an idea of what's needed to port the version on transmissionbt.com to unraid? I need another hobby.

October 22, 201312 yr I appreciate the feedback. I've tried to do some reading but most of it goes over my head! Do I need a pay service? I have a ddwrt router which means I think I can make a secure tunnel to that and then access both my pc and server from there? I just haven't been able to locate an install guide for 'dummies'!

If you have a router with DDWRT you are likely half way there. The DDWRT site should have a little writeup in there wiki on how to set it up. You are correct in that you can set up the VPN on the router then from the computer you are on make the secure VPN connection. From there your computer will act as if it is sitting on your home network.
October 26, 201312 yr How come all my settings are erased and downloading torrent are cleared out when rebooting?
November 23, 201312 yr Hi, All download links are broken. Can anyone post a valid link to update to 2.81? Thanks
December 23, 201312 yr Hi, All download links are broken. Can anyone post a valid link to update to 2.81? Thanks +1
December 23, 201312 yr You can have my version of 2.82 @ https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzcy0tb0hgzs2bk/transmission-2.82-i686-1PTr.txz You could even update the plg with that address if you wanted to have it as part of the plugin. If not simply add it to packages folder on your flash drive.
December 24, 201312 yr You can have my version of 2.82 @ https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzcy0tb0hgzs2bk/transmission-2.82-i686-1PTr.txz You could even update the plg with that address if you wanted to have it as part of the plugin. If not simply add it to packages folder on your flash drive. I'm currently using influencer's plugin for transmission. So I guess editing the plg with your txz would work just fine? Thanks in advance. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
December 24, 201312 yr yeah works fine.....if you already have transmission installed previously, just add that file to your packages folder on flash and through telnet run the installpkg command.
December 25, 201312 yr removed the old pkg, installed the new one, and have also edited the plg to point to your dropbox. 2.82 seems to be working well. Thanks for the share, Ockingshay.
December 27, 201312 yr If you go to the upgrade branch on influencer's github that copy has all the updated packages. Not only transmission 2.82 but the dependency packages as well. https://github.com/Influencer/UNplugged/blob/Upgrade/transmission_unplugged.plg
December 27, 201312 yr If you go to the upgrade branch on influencer's github that copy has all the updated packages. Not only transmission 2.82 but the dependency packages as well. https://github.com/Influencer/UNplugged/blob/Upgrade/transmission_unplugged.plg Nice one, that saves a lot of work for people....influencer has been a busy boy Although i do recall there being issues with these updated packages conflicting with other dependencies. Simply swapping out the txz file at least i know works 100% and is what i've been using for a while now.
December 27, 201312 yr Yeah you're right it's borked. Something must have changed since last i updated from there. Would probably be better to use the url package from it for updating so your dropbox isn't getting hammered. <FILE Name="/boot/packages/transmission-2.82-i686-1PTr.txz" Run="upgradepkg --install-new"> <URL>--no-check-certificate https://copy.com/8Zye0EQw7L6sy72K/unrad-generic/transmission-2.82-i686-1PTr.txz</URL> <MD5>e4ee16ff27d8a591cda0c958489855cd</MD5> </FILE>
January 29, 201412 yr I deleted the 2.76 file reference and added this to the .plg file. <FILE Name="/boot/packages/transmission-2.82-i686-1PTr.txz" Run="upgradepkg --install-new"> <URL>--no-check-certificate https://copy.com/8Zye0EQw7L6sy72K/unrad-generic/transmission-2.82-i686-1PTr.txz</URL> <MD5>e4ee16ff27d8a591cda0c958489855cd</MD5> </FILE> I did a manual install and it failed with a bad MD5. So I just deleted the MD5 and it installed and Transmission 2.82 is working on my testbox. Will bad things happen? I really don't know the ramifications of deleting the checksum, if the file downloaded without it, why did it need the md5 in the first place?
