Unraid OS Version 7.2.0 available

Is anyone having an issue with the layout of their dashboard since updating to 7.2?? I am stuck with having only two columns of tiles and cannot get it to display three columns.

When I was on 7.14 the dashboard display was working well with three columns. This situation only showed up after updating to 7.2. I tried to rearrange the tiles after "unlocking" the display by using the padlock in the upper right corner but no luck. Beside this very minor problem everything appears to be working well.

I know this is a very insignificant glitch on my server but I would like to resolve it if possible. Thanks for any help . . .

I've attached an image for clarity.

Click the blue wrench and reset layout.

Do the manual install process.

Unraid keeps the previous version on the stick so you can downgrade, 2G is too tight. Got about 2.3GB used on mine.

Could you point me to the manual install process? 🍻

I'm feeling pretty good about this update. Enough that I will likely take the plunge and bring the main server up to date from 6.12.10 to 7.2.0. I have time the next day or two, so we will see how it goes. Those who know, I'm hesitant to update unless I have a compelling reason to do so. 7.2.0 looks like a stable point to take the plunge.

Well, I took the plunge. Fortunately after being greeted by this screen, things seem to be working nominally after a power down restart and cancelling the parity check.

Oddly the Processor graph from the dashboard view is now blank (save for temp) after update. On a AMD Ryzen 5 5600G server. Tried a restart as initial diagnostic, no joy.

Stats page shows CPU load graph correctly.

Do you have the connect plugin installed? If yes try removing to see if it fixes?

To restore the availability of 3 columns:

Delete the dashboard_setting.json on your flashdrive. It's in /boot/config/

Update: the stuck needed just a "good old" unplug and re-plug

I would suggest making a backup now just in case the issue returns so you can perform a clean wipe (sometimes all that is needed), or to migrate to new usb

Is this really an error? It does highlight lines red if they contain the word error as far as I know.

I have the same line at boot but that's just info from the api (I have Unraid Connect installed)

Nov 1 22:45:24 Server rc.local: namespace : default

Yes, it is an error and highlighted as such in the system log.

Because it tells you the location of the error log for graphql-api. Not an error per se. But that's my interpretation (that could be wrong).

Thanks. Worked like a charm!!

I have deployed two Unraid servers on my local network, but I discovered that their machine-id are identical. This is causing a WSD (wsdd) discovery conflict for network sharing, and as a result, I cannot see both servers at the same time. How can I properly change the machine-id on one of the Unraid servers?

Even when I use a brand new 7.2.0 system in a VMWare VM, I still get the same result. Can anyone else please check and see if their cat /etc/machine-id result is also identical?

Rename it.

Thank you for your reply. I changed the server name, but after rebooting, the machine-id still hasn't changed.

If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to discuss them in the thread below.

Updated my Backup Server from 7.1.4 to 7.2 2 days ago (No docker, no VM) I found no issues

Updated my main Server a few minutes ago from 7.0.1 to 7.2 ( 2 VM, several dockers) no issues found so far.

Hello,

I am reporting severe stability issues with the array after upgrading to the Unraid OS 7.2.0 Stable release. I was forced to roll back to 7.1.4, which is currently working perfectly and stable.

The core issue is array instability:

  1. Array Stops/Crashes: The array would frequently stop itself and had to be manually restarted multiple times a day.

  2. Parity Check Failure: The scheduled parity check never finished, as the array kept crashing during the process.

  3. Catastrophic Service Failure (Docker/Jellyfin): During system-intensive tasks, such as running a Docker update, the array would halt/crash. This caused a chain reaction where the entire pool/array subsystem would stop, making services like Jellyfin unreachable. I had to manually go and start the array repeatedly.

  4. Inconsistent Behavior: The system behaved randomly—sometimes a Docker update would succeed on the second attempt, but the instability would soon return.

Why this is concerning:

  • The system works 100% stable on the previous version, 7.1.4, using the XFS Array + BTRFS Cache configuration.

  • This strongly suggests an underlying bug in the 7.2.0 core system (kernel, I/O, or emhttpd process) that is causing critical stability issues under load.

  • For a release labeled as "Stable," this level of array instability makes the system unusable for reliable 24/7 service.

I strongly recommend other users facing similar critical instability issues to roll back to 7.1.4 until an official fix is released (hopefully in 7.2.1).

Thank you.

Hello,

I'm on 7.2.0 since beta, very stable. Not seen any of those problems.

This is not a general problem. To try and see what is happening in your case, please create a new bug report in Stable Releases - Bug Reports and add the diagnostics after upgrading.

No issues on two servers and 7.2 seems to be running more efficient. Great update!

upgraded 2 servers without any pain or issues. also accessed the servers via my andriod phone, wonderful access experience.

congratulations to the team! outstanding job, as always.
