March 18Mar 18 Unraid 7.3.0-beta.1 is live, headlined by Internal Boot — the ability to boot Unraid from an NVMe, SSD, or eMMC instead of a USB flash drive. Also in this release: ZFS improvements, File Manager performance, VM fixes, a new onboarding wizard for fresh installs, and Tailscale now has a proper home in the WebGUI.Full details in the blog post: https://unraid.net/blog/unraid-7-3-beta.1
March 18Mar 18 The new licensing to a tpm on motherboard is interesting. Saw no mention of the process going forward to transfer license from tpm to tpm when upgrading to new hardware.

March 19Mar 19 Whats this? Unknown for both of my ZFS pools. One mirror (2 ssd drives) and one stripe (2 ssd drives). Nothing fancy or special. ;) Edited March 19Mar 19 by Niklas
March 19Mar 19 Chaps, what am I missing ? I really want to be able to finally free up the motherboard usb controller for my VMs !!
March 19Mar 19 Since the Linux Kernel used in version 7.3.0 is now version 6.18.18, that means that there are no reiserfs drivers in the kernel. (This information should probably be included in the release notes...)

March 19Mar 19 Anyone moving to internal boot make sure secure boot is off. It typically isn’t a problem for USB Boot but it will be with internal boot.

March 19Mar 19 I have a 6 drive licence and would like to use a dedicated 16gb intel optane drive exclusively for this. Will the licence let me have this as a boot drive (no data/array) and keep my existing 6 drives?

Fingers crossed this might change. I have another server with a pro licence that I also want to use this on, hopefully the 50% restriction won't be an issue.

Having the USB controller free would make life so much easier. I understand you're covering your arses, but what’s stopping unRAID from pairing to the motherboard's physical TPM on a bare metal boot but continuing to work afterward in a VM with that same TPM passed through? What's the problem with this approach if any?
