I've solved the issue. The Issue seems to stem form the MariaDB server. It looks like the password or something else expired and the solve is to root into MariaDB and reset the password the same as it was before.

Logging in as root on the MariaDB server

UPDATE mysql.user SET authentication_string = PASSWORD('same_password_as_before')
WHERE User = 'nextcloud' AND Host = 'localhost';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON nextcloud.* TO 'nextcloud' IDENTIFIED BY 'same_password_as_before';
exit;

Hi every1,

went through the whole thread but could only find some small hints towards my "problem"

running nextcloud on unraid which is not exposed and not using letsencrypt for reverse proxy or smth, only local use

if there a way to delete files from nextcloud folders via windows explorer?

I connected the unraid nextcloud share in Windows but can only read, but not write/delete.

already tried to set the share to public with no luck. any ideas what else can be done?

thx in advance

You can to go Tools > New Permissions and run it on nextcloud share.
But after you delete the files. you have to initiate a scan from nextcloud's console.
But nextcloud docs say that should be avoided.

Do you want to do it for one time? Or part of a workflow?
If its one timer, ok. But not as a workflow.
Look for other solutions

thx, it should be a permanenet solution. i got lot of stuff auto uploaded from phone to nextcloud and i would need an option to sort those things, but not via nexcloud UI ;(

Instead of mapping the smb share to your phone. Map webdav folder.

Hello all,  I know this is likely a simple question But hoping someone can help me understand and setup something.
So I am trying to setup the extract app. --> https://github.com/PaulLereverend/NextcloudExtract

Just wondering where I would run the following commands "sudo apt-get install unrar"   and "sudo apt-get install p7zip p7zip-full"    so that I can have the pre-requisits for the extraction app.    Sorry if this is a simple question.   Also wondering if this would be persistent between version updates. ?

Thanks in advance!!

You can use our option to customize the container to make the changes persisten over updates. https://blog.linuxserver.io/2019/09/14/customizing-our-containers/

This container uses Alpine Linux as the base, so apt-get will not work. Check Alpines package repo for the packages needed.

Try without the sudo -u abc
If not working try
su abc
Then execute the rest of command.
Not near a computer to test

boy thanks i was just going to beed hehehe ... I tryed and this is waht comes up

# php /config/www/nextcloud/occ maintenance:mode --off
Could not open input file: /config/www/nextcloud/occ
# pwd
/var/www/html
# php occ maintenance:mode --off
Console has to be executed with the user that owns the file config/config.php
Current user: root
Owner of config.php: www-data
Try adding 'sudo -u www-data ' to the beginning of the command (without the single quotes)
If running with 'docker exec' try adding the option '-u www-data' to the docker command (without the single quotes)
#

# sudo
sh: 15: sudo: not found
#

I have setup Nextcloud in a docker and all works perfect except the following. I can connect via any web browser and upload/download files, but if I go out of my network I cant access Nexcloud with Safari or the ios app, but if I am in my network I can access it with Safari and ios app, but even outside of my network I can access via pc browser. Can anyone help me with this? I just dont understand what is going on with it. I am using Nginx Reverse Proxy as well. All works great except the access outside of the network with iphone. If you have anything that I can try, I am all ears. Thank you in advance!

I'm not sure you are using our container as we don't have a www-data user or a /var/www/html folder in our container. So if you are not using the linuxserver.io container, please use the correct support thread.

Back Again... Still not working i tried:

occ maintenance:mode --off

and

./occ maintenance:mode --off

./ worked but gave me this :

That is not ours. Please use the support thread for that container and not here.
