This is not possible with my container, but you could easily set up multiple containers...

However they have their own Docker and installation is described here: Click

I am trying to set up The dedicated Server for ConanExiles but i always get the message

Another thing i was wondering: Is the Installation via Wine still necessary, since i saw you can Install steamcmd natively in Linux now and Conan Exiles is not flagged as Windows only on this website: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Dedicated_Servers_List

Did you have any mods installed or something like that? Does the server crash too?

Maybe not because even here it's now listed to be compatible with Linux.

But this would require a second container because for existing users migrating can/would be a nightmare...

However, AFAIK the Windows version on Linux should work fine too for now.

Since I don't created the container I would recommend that you create an issue here on the official GitHub.

I don't know if the server is actually running because of the errors. When I start the game in Singleplayer it doesn't crash though

I can‘t even read what the error is because it‘s cut off.

Some errors are displayed because some things from the full games are not found but thats not an issue at all usually.

Apologies but I've only just see your question - the answer is yes I eventually got a server working just fine....but it was so long ago that I have no recollection of exactly what I did - sorry!

This seems fine and shouldn't prevent the container from running.

How much resources is the container using (CPU, RAM)?

I guess too little. How much ram is needed for it?

Hello,

I am using your Project Zomboid docker container and am curious how to allocate more RAM to the game instance. I have tried editing the .json on multiple occasions.

The container or better speaking the game server should automatically manage it's RAM, why do you need more RAM?

IIRC the game is Java based, you can play with this values and append them to the GAME_PARAMS:

"-Xms" is the minimum ram assigned to java (but don't expect that if you set it to 10G that it actually consumes 10GB, it will only consume as much as it really needs but 10GB are reserved)

"-Xmx" is the maximum ram assigned to java

Append something like this to the GAME_PARAMS to set the minimum assigned RAM to 8GB and the maximum allowed RAM to 16GB:

-Xms8G -Xmx16G

I actually don't know if this will work but you can try, but as said above, the game should manage it's RAM allocation automatically.

That's the method I tried. And our group "needs" more max RAM allocated due to the events we run that are mod intensive.

The problem is when I make those edits and then start the container, the file reverts to 8gb max RAM allocation.

I don't think that it's using by default 8GB since the 64-bit version which is used by my container uses according to the documentation a Xms configuration of 16GB, but I think the documentation is a bit outdated.

After looking further into the files it mentions that you should edit ProjectZomboid64.json in the main directory and add the parameter there:

grafik.png.3765ff4cbe594913b018aec7b76e2cc1.png

I think something like this should do the job just fine in ProjectZomboid64.json:

That is exactly what I enter... and every time I restart the container after uploading the new file, the ProjectZomboid64.json reverts back to saying, "-Xmx8g", on line 27. There it removes the "-Xms##", line entirely as well.

Is there an originating file that I need to edit? 8gb maximum is not enough for our purposes. Our machine has 256gb of RAM to allocate to game containers.

Did you stop the container in the first palce and then edit the file or did you leave it runnig, edit the files and restart the container?

That I did, every time I would stop the container. Wait till it was fully brought down. Then go mess with the files.

Would edit the file, then double check it was in the right spot, then double check that it still had the edits in it, and then start the container. Once I started the container and went back to look at the file, line 27 in the ProjectZomboid64.json would have reverted from whatever I entered to "-Xmx8g",

I can't reproduce this on my machine, everything is working just fine and even the log mentions that I've added -Xms4g and edited Xmx to -Xmx10g:

Absolute genius! I knew it would be something simple that I didnt check.

Turned off validation and reapplied the template, the changes stuck in the .json and when I logged into the server the new values are reflected in the server statistics on the admin panel.

Why did you even enable it? I think you also don't validate all games that you play on your local PC before playing... :P

Ha! No I dont, but I had initially followed the SPX Labs forum & video guide for setting up the container and server. Now I know!
