  1. I use the daapd docker to run an "iTunes" music server on my unRaid box. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=44210.0 I can control it by using my iPhone (Remote App) and it will play to multiple Airplay receivers and keep them all in sync so I have whole house audio. I use a Shairport app on my Windows computer to make it an Airplay receiver. I use Shairport running on 2 Raspberry Pi devices connected to powered speakers to make them Airplay receivers. My Yamaha Receiver in my family room has Airplay functionality. And I have Apple TV devices connected to a couple TVs in the house. I have 8 total zones that I can stream music to. I can play music to any or all of the devices at the same time, with all the zones in sync and the ability to control each volume level independently or simultaneously, all from my iPhone or iPad. And I don't have to keep the iPhone connected, it just interfaces to control what is playing when I want to change something (i.e. skip a song).
  2. When you installed Plex via Phaze Plugin, you installed it to RAM memory location (usr/local/plexmediaserver), not to a cache drive or array drive. You need to change you installation location (which should be giving you a big warning on the plugin setup screen) otherwise every time you reboot your server, your Plex install will be lost along with all of your setup configuration.
  3. You should not be concerned about the heavy load on disk2 vs disk1.
  4. Slingbox changed from paid mobile apps, to free apps with ads. At the same time they wanted to increase the cost of their hardware, so they released the M2 version. Same exact hardware, that was released along with free apps on mobile devices (though with ads). The original M1 version was cheaper, but required paid apps on mobile devices. But the new free apps work just fine with the M1 boxes. I'm not sure if you can pay to remove the video ads or just the banner ads. I have never paid anything beyond the initial cost of the M1 box.
  5. I have a Slingbox M1 (it is the exact same hardware as the M2, and is cheaper! Don't waste your money on the M2!!) I use it to watch NFL games when I am traveling outside of the country. Works great. I use the free apps on my iPhone, iPad, and Laptop. There is a 15 second video add when you first start the app which is a little annoying, but not bad enough for me to pay to remove the ads. Once you connect to the video stream and make it full screen, you don't see the banner ads any more. http://www.amazon.com/Sling-Media-SB370-100-Slingbox-M1/dp/B00LIP10KK/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1456670646&sr=8-4&keywords=slingbox
  6. Slightly off-topic but this my setup: I use the daapd docker to run an "iTunes" music server on my unRaid box. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=44210.0 I can control it by using my iPhone (Remote App) and it will play to multiple Airplay receivers and keep them all in sync so I have whole house audio. 7. Except when there are only two disks in the system, parity will be an exact mirror of data disk. How about a warning message before the array starts that says "WARNING!!! Assigned Parity Drive has a valid file system. Are you sure you want to proceed? Doing so will erase all files currently on this disk." and requires the user to select yes or no?
  8. I also bought my own domain name so I could keep the same email address and not be tethered to an ISP or other company. I used Outlook to host the email server until they stopped providing that service for free. I recently switched to using Zoho for free email hosting. http://www.blogsynthesis.com/zoho-free-email-hosting/
  9. Click the Wrench icon in the bottom left to open a settings menu.
  10. I use the FileExplorer app on my iPad and easily move files around between shares. With it, I can also directly save a downloaded NZB file directly to the SAB watch folder. And it also provides the ability to rename files.
  11. Yes playlists are supported and your original iTunes playlists should work. I also use mostly SmartPlaylists which are very easy to create. You could easily create a SmartPlaylist for recently added music with your own definition of "recently added". See this link. https://github.com/ejurgensen/forked-daapd/blob/master/README_SMARTPL.md
  12. I replaced the original fans with these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KHRGAH8
  13. I am very happy with my MS800 case, which has 10 5.25 bays. I installed three Norco SS-500 5-in-3 cages. Provides room for 16 total drives, I am currently using 13 (1 Parity, 11 Data, 1 Cache). http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-ATX-Mid-Tower-Case/dp/B00BG5CBJG/
  14. I personally have found cAdvisor completely worthless, as it does not accurately report the true size of the images inside the docker image file. My image usage percentage would continue to grow and the sizes reported by cAdvisor would not change at all. I have had issues with the Couchpotato containers. 1. Make a note of your current docker image percent usage 2. Remove Couchpotato (both the container and the image) 3. Note the new docker image percent usage 4. Reinstall Couchpotato from your user template 5. Note the new docker image percent usage
  15. I recently converted from Needos to the Linuxserver Plex docker. My only issue was waiting long enough after starting the Linuxserver Plex docker for the first time, it took about 5 minutes or so before I could access Plex. I think the docker may have been scanning (or changing file permissions or something) on my huge Plex metadata database. But all my setup and watched status all transferred flawlessly.
  16. cadvisor was useless in resolving this issue for me. The sizes reported in cadvisor never changed while the docker image continued to fill up.
  17. I had issues with my docker image growing larger periodically. I narrowed it down to CouchPotato and I believe it was because it was auto updating inside the container. I switched to the LinuxServer version and disabled auto updates in the CouchPotato settings. Problem completely solved for me. The way I narrowed it down to a specific app was to remove each app one at at time (container and image) and then reinstalled from my template. Each time looking at the docker image size reported on the unRAID Dashboard. For all my other apps the size before and after didn't change much. For CouchPotato the image size was significantly smaller afterward the reinstall.
  18. Is there any way to stream Pandora music through daapd? I found this: https://github.com/b-fitzpatrick/openpipe Which connects with this: https://github.com/PromyLOPh/pianobar http://6xq.net/pianobar/ Is it possible to add this to the daapd docker? Or create a new docker that has the openpipe/pianobar functionality?

  20. I hated that "feature" too and disabled it. To disable, go into Settings->Preferences->MISC-> and uncheck "Remember current session for next launch".
  21. PlexWatch only works in HOST mode. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=34069.msg320316#msg320316 From Needo's installation instructions: Run the docker in host mode
  22. FYI, I run PlexWatch in a docker, and I run Plex Server using Phaze's plugin.
  23. Gigabit ethernet requires 8 wires (4 pairs).
  24. These are both just a little over your max 18" height, but they are in stock. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021&cm_re=antec_900-_-11-129-021-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G28M5375&cm_re=ms800-_-11-235-039-_-Product
