  1. Just to clarify this, Unraid NEVER has "phoned home" for paid licenses. All key validity checking is done locally. Trial keys, yes, they verify expiration time, but paid keys don't expire, and aren't checked externally. If you use your own domain for remote access and don't sign in to the UPC, nothing will change with 6.10 except for the sign in screen for UPC will be present and nag you to install the my servers plugin. The my servers plugin is optional, so if you don't want the unraid.net domain or flash drive backup on unraid's servers, don't install it. As far as the key purchases, trial keys will require sign in. Paid keys can still be handled externally if desired.
  2. Have you run tests on how long it takes the CPU to heat up with no coolant? When running unattended I'd be afraid of not getting it shut down quick enough to avoid frying something. That's the major advantage of air cooling, typically when a fan fails you still have a big ole chunk of metal to absorb the heat so the CPU doesn't skyrocket temps.
  3. What mechanisms are in place to alert and react to cooling loop leaks and / or pump failure? Is the rig running unattended for any amount of time?
  4. Because the Unraid parity array is a complete rewrite of the mdadm modules.
  5. Dunno, that would be a question for the UD support thread. Frankly as long as it's still accessible I'd wait to see if the display returns, then if you feel like it follow up with an observation in the support thread so @dlandon can follow up on it if he feels it's necessary.
  6. Only if you can lay out exactly what would need to change at a basic level, and how it would effect current operation. The parity function is in such a low level of unraid, and so much is built on it, it would take a major benefit case to even consider putting in all the labor to make and verify the changes. I don't see it happening unless the possible upside would be extremely valuable. On the face of it, a setting that would appear to crash the server (all operations would have to freeze immediately on errors) is not something that would be seen as a benefit, but if you can articulate it compellingly, go for it.
  7. Do not discuss things that violate Nvidia's TOS on this forum. There are plenty of other places on the internet for that, don't do it here.
  8. If this is the only VM on the machine, just create a new VM, change to the XML view, paste the saved XML into the form, save it and put the vdisk.img file into the path specified by the XML.
  9. @BarryrodIt's not mandatory, but I recommend a parity check before replacing data drives. The parity sync isn't immediately verified, I've seen issues with new drives that aren't caught until the first check.
  10. It would be safer to power down to swap the drive.
  11. I'm not aware of anyone running an audacity container on Unraid, perhaps you could post in the support for that specific app? Containers don't really use pass through in the same sense as a VM, but they can utilize resources that have drivers and are mapped from the host.
  12. In that case, you need to disable cache for those shares and download directly to the array, or set up a larger pool so that mover can be run during off hours. The high CPU is to get the move done ASAP.
  13. Mover is meant to be scheduled when nobody is using the server.
  14. Are you sure the drive doesn't need the 3.3V pin mod? Is it showing up in the BIOS of the Unraid machine?
  15. Understandable, but everything you have posted about the issue points to a power delivery problem. Until that's ruled out by part substitution, it's going to be an issue on the table. New doesn't mean it's good. Plenty of partially defective parts get shipped every day. Also, those modular cable assemblies can have connector issues, so it wouldn't hurt to pull out and reconnect every power cable connection, especially the ones at the PSU itself. When swapping a PSU, make sure ALL cables are swapped, since modular cables often aren't compatible between different PSU's, sometimes even of the same brand, and also the cables themselves can be the problem.
  16. Unraid doesn't have native audio support. It's not meant to be a full featured desktop OS, the only thing you should be using the built in GUI mode browser for is managing Unraid. It's possible you may be able to pass it through to a VM, but that can be problematic on some boards as well.
  17. Install nomachine in the VM and your desktop and use that to access the VM. VNC doesn't support audio.
  18. How are you accessing them?
  19. Sorry, I wasn't asking a new question, more just trying to clarify the concerns. The UPC component looks like it's part of a phone home system, and it's being added as a mandatory piece of the OS. I'll add an example of a change made to Windows 10 last year, where new installs require using a MS account to complete the install, unless you proactively remove the network before that stage of setup and tell it you don't have internet. I personally realize that comparing LT to MS is rather insulting, but to newcomers to the LT family, it could be hard to differentiate the behaviour.
  20. Or HPA, or some OEM resizing for an external enclosure.
