What music do the dev's listen too?

I like a bit of trance if it's a early hours session or bbc 6music radio if daytime.

I got a bunch new SSDs and HDDs and need to restructure my whole Homeserver.. Would you:

A) Do it now with latest stable Version

B) Wait for RC with ZFS

C) Use latest Beta

    - Is there any way to migrate later to RC or Release Version (simple Update or with little manual effort e.g. exporting and importing config..)

I must say that I don't rely on the Server cause I don't even use it as it is but I want to start and the project is on hold since I heard the frst time of the ZFS Support in 6.12..

A) You already can set your server with ZFS plugin if using ZFS is what you're intending to.

C there is no public beta yet

Just spent the past 2 hours unsuccessfully troubleshooting an issue.  Before I dive back into it some more:

Will 6.12 address the issue where Realtek 8125 NIC has the r8169 driver loaded?  Or at least allow the r8169 to be blacklisted without getting  'device eth0 does not exist'?

The r8169 cripples this NIC to under 300 Mits/sec.

Is this a known issue? I get close to line speed with an rtl8125 using the r8169 driver.

Yes.  There are quite a few different posts/threads here in the Unraid forum.

Hey... how to apply for the beta access? I will migrate to a new server, but can keep my "old" system running - while I could use my new one for testing.

rc1 has just been released.

Can you confirm if your device is exactly the same as mine?

03:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8125 2.5GbE Controller [10ec:8125] (rev 05)

This is what I got using the default driver:

P.S. I don't remember if I did this with v6.11.5 or one of the 6.12 betas, so worth retesting yours with v6.12-rc1

I'm still on 6.10.3.  I generally avoid releases that end in ".0", and for 6.11 that was a good choice, as the 5 releases quickly after one another proved out.  I've not moved on to 6.11.5, as I have questions regarding AMD and wait states with the current kernel.

Which brings me back to the question I asked:

It looks as it worked correctly in 6.9.x, then confirmed not working (well) in 6.10.x.  So was just looking for possible insight into the future.

Like mentioned it's working for me, so not a general problem/bug, you can create a bug report if you still have an issue after upgrading.

Sniff! Can't taste this RC release due to having a 6 disks mirror vdev instead of 4.

Looking forward the release delivering the support to more disk @limetech. The logs related to it are whatever pretty solid, I didn't expect this way to support ZFS. Sounds promising! 😁

Do you mean you are using a 6 way mirror? i.e., just using the capacity of one disk?

My english skill might be broken then. As specified within my signature, I'm using the capacity from 6 disks divided by two or "3 MIRRORS STRIPPED"

Is it usable with the release?

Just now, gyto6 said:

Yes, you can have as many stripped mirrors as you want, and each mirror can be up to 4 way mirror.

Thanks, I know what to do tonight! Improve my english skill. 😉

Just asked a simple question.  Thank you for one data point.

awesome! i tried updating RC1 on my system and also tried on a new installation/ USB as well; i got a black screen. do you guys think that it's a hardware compatibility issue?

Try preventing the GPU driver from loading by blacklisting it, see here how:

https://wiki.unraid.net/Manual/Release_Notes/Unraid_OS_6.10.0#Linux_Kernel

i created a blacklists on flash/config/modprobe.d; it doesn't help with booting in my case.

even a fresh 6.12.0 rc doesn't boot nor seeing the gui. I won't be able to generate a log, do you have any suggestion? or should I just wait for the next release?

here is my spec, is any of these items not compatible with the lately build?

Gigabyte x570s Master Aorus

Ryzen 5950x

Kingston 128 ECC ram

3.0 usb flash but on a 2.0 slot

Intel X540-AT2

Gigabyte Titan Ridge (use external GPU in general; also tried & swapped out the first slot with an actual GPU, doesnt work either)

LSI OEM 9201-16i

Do you still see the green screen with the driver blacklisted? If so it could be a compatibility issue with the new kernel, try rc2 when available but the kernel will be very similar, or even the same.

Hello everyone i don't have any dashboard on rc2 it's empty now :)

edit i just delete GPU stat plug in and everything is back
