I don't think the bar graph to the right of 'Tools' is in the new release.

Remember the old Dynamix was installed from /boot/plugins. Remove that directory.

It's hard to see your screen capture with the black theme.  Can you turn it off and get a new screen capture?

here you go...

on a side note, if i stop the array, then the dashboard populates! then i start the array and the dashboard is empty.

The dashboard uses "smartctl" to do SMART info reading of each disk, this may take a while when all drives are spin up.

there is only 1 parity and 1 data disk

system status does NOT load either when the array is started

On the Main page the parity and data disk are shown as normal operating condition, after starting the array ?

He has an array usage graph in the menu bar that confuses me.  The new version doesn't have the graph there that I know of.  Is that there until the stats plugin is installed?

Notify the plugin authors.  They need to make changes for beta 12.

What changes?

The emhttp file structure has changed.  Rather than having a .page file and a separate .php file, the php needs to be included in the .page file separated with three dashes '---'.

Woulda been nice to see that mentioned somewhere in the release notes.... I fought with that for hours last night.

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I am getting the same types of issues that spl147 is experiencing on my install of Unraid 5.0.5. With my array started and running, I am getting nothing displayed in the dashboard. If I go ahead and stop the array, then everything seems to display fine in the dashboard.

I have a feeling that our issue is related so I thought I would chime in here.

I don't think the bar graph to the right of 'Tools' is in the new release.

It's hard to see your screen capture with the black theme.  Can you turn it off and get a new screen capture?

here you go...

Changing file format does not preserve parity.

If you make all the changes with the array up and running, then it should.  However, if you perform any part of the process with the array down then, yes, parity does out of the window.

Not so.  Changing from ReiserFS to XFS breaks parity.  It cannot be preserved.

Are you referring to the data on the drive?  If you convert them through the unRaid gui you would loose data on the drive being formatted, but the parity is still intact.  The formatting is done on the meta device so the format is captured in the parity.

This has been discussed in detail here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=34771.msg324758#msg324758

It doesn't need to be re-hashed in this thread.

Bottom line - if you change the file format on a drive, parity is broken so files on the re-formated drive are lost.

Of course the files are lost (you've just reformated the drive!), but it doesn't break parity.  Provided that you have some other place to copy the files to/from, they can be copied back to the newly-formatted drive.  I state again - if this is all done (particularly, the format) with the array up and running, parity is preserved.  Every write which is performed on an 'md' device is reflected by a corresponding update to the parity drive.

I suspect that you may be confusing 'preserving data' with 'preserving parity', because the phrase "parity is broken so files on the re-formated drive are lost" is faulty logic.

Any plans to add "Cache Dirs" into the new interface as was done in ver 5 of Dynamix? Or will it be a separate plugin?

In beta 12 cache_dirs is available as an optional Dynamix plugin see this thread

Thanks, one difficulty with unRAID is being able to find threads which contain information regarding the availability of plug-ins and, I imagine, dock containers that will work in each current release.  Perhaps, someone from LimeTech could modify the first post of the release thread with pointers to the threads which contain this type of information.
