Fix Common Problems flagged for me this morning that "The plugin disklocation-master.plg is not known to Community Applications and is possibly incompatible with your server" - does this mean the Overhaul '25 version is imminent?

I don't know why it should be flagged, makes no sense. Did you install it manually or via community apps?

It's however safe if you already have current stable running.

Ah, I see why. I copied the 2024-edition install script over to master and forgot to change the branch name.

But it's safe to use, I will fix it later today.

Thanks. FYI, it reads "not available" as status when checking for updates too.

Won't show update available. Just "not available". I guess we'll need to use the url to upgrade?

Yes, you must wait until CA update its database. I don't know how often it does it.

That's TrayID, not tray number. It's written in red bold text above it.

I installed devel.

On the smart tab I don't see any drives...so I'm assuming I need to run smart tests on all drives via the plugin to get that data.

Will report back once my parity check completes.

The SMART tab will only show drives if it find anything reported as errors defined by Unraid config. If you see none, that means none of your drives have like reallocated sectors etc.

I'm a bit more curious of why you had flashing backgrounds. That would happen if there's no SMART data available, but this was detected and should put a big red message about what you need to do. I can not reproduce it either, so I must do some more investigations of that.

i have a lot of disks that has a black icon (device not present) as seen in the first image (from the dashboard). allt the yellow background ones should be green.

they are all very much present and working. so why is the plugin saying otherwise?

You must do a Force Update All, if you have installed the newest stable version, this should now be fixed as Force Update All is executed at boot. What you see here is a misalignment between drives and drive PATH. Some of these LEDs might even be for wrong drives. I think I will adjust how this detecting works by using a different method. But for Overhaul '25.

Installed devel, main issue so far is that all drives are showing up as "Warning" except the parity drive which is showing up as "Critical." Unraid GUI shows all of the drives as Normal.

I've run the Force SMART + DB button, and the smart folder exists under /tmp/disklocation/.

Do you need logs or anything? Just let me know and I can pull them :)

I updated devel (2025.02.06-0014) once again, please update it (regular way via Plugins if it's already installed).

If you see any changes, good (red text is good in this regard). If nothing, then yes, logs would be fine. Please do following:

  1. Go to System tab
  2. If "Delete debug file" is visible, click that.
  3. Click "Enable"
  4. Then just click "Disable" right away, no need for refresh or anything (log file will increase size quite drastically every refresh)
  5. Then download the file and send to me as private message, WARNING! serial numbers, comments etc. are exposed!

Also, which warnings/critical messages do you get?

I have 2 unraid 7.0.0 stable systems active.

On both I have this Disk locaion Plugin

On System #1  I did update to 2025.02.06  and after that I did get the message "not available" (mentioned above).
So I did not touch system #2.

Today System #2 offered update to 2025.02.07 and I did it.
System #1 still tells me the message "not available".

This bugged me so I downloaded the disklocation-master.zip and found mentioning the direct link:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/olehj/disklocation/2024-edition/disklocation-2024-edition.plg

With this I updated the #1 system and now I also habe 2025.02.07 on that machine.
But now unraid plugin page tells me "checking" for a verrry long time (I waited several minutes, but still "checking"...).

I guess installing it sideways with the direct link was not the best idea.

Can this be fixed without loosing my allocation data for this plugin oder do I have to uninstall, new install and configure new?

You will not loose any data by uninstalling. Just uninstall and install it again. Even by installing devel keeps the old config, also backs it up.

Use "master"/CA for stable release.

2024-edition is for future if some wants to stay on this system and not the new one. 2024-edition is not compatible with CA and must be manually installed.

Newest version won't fix the issue right away, you must do a force update all. New version will do that when booting your system next time and then it should prevent these things from happening. Overhaul '25 have an additional check added in place for this now (last update)

Overhaul '25 update: 2025.02.07-1551!

See main post about additional changes.

Does anyone know what happened?

I added a drive and everything went blank like it reset to default. Then I updated to the latest version (apparently out today), re-added all my drives and this is what I have now. All the details are gone.

i have been running the plugin for some time now, so wasnt a fresh install. and been keeping up with updates (was on the latest when i posted the question). not sure what you mean with boot, if you mean boot of unraid or boot (i.e start) of the plugin. but i havent rebooted unraid for quite some time now (since update to 7.0.0). ran a force update all now and seems that did solve it since they are all green now. thanks!
