  1. You just need a "reverse SAS" cable to connect 4 more SATA drives. No adapter needed. From the manual: - 1 x SlimSAS Slot Support SlimSAS NVMe device (supports PCIe 4.0 x4 mode and up to 4 SATA devices)*** *** SlimSAS slot can support up to 4 SATA devices via a transfer cable. the cable is purchased separately. I would not waste the 16x slot for a single LAN card. If you want twisted pair (which is a very risky descicion...), 4x (PCIe 3.0) should be enough. Avoid the outdated cards with 8x (PCIe2.0) only. Besides the Bus Interface they are the same. But again, you have been warned! Better consider a card with an SFP+ cage and get a proper module. Its more expensive, but if TP turns out to be unstable at your home, you can just throw away the module and cable and switch to fiber or DAC. These are considered to be "safe" for 10G. I have thrown away about 10 X550 cards here because of this, wasnt a cheap experience too.. Any cheap one will do. But be cautious too. Get the Mobos Manual first and READ IT CAREFULLY! Today it is common (and evil) practice to "overload" the boards. Many of them have strange restrictions like "if you use SATA 5-8 the 4x Slot #2 will not be available" or many other stuff. So make sure to READ CAREFULLY, look for *** and make sure that your desired configuration is really available at the same time.
  5. Guck Dir ne LINC Station an.
  6. Also mein Schnittrechner hat natürlich eigenen NVMe.
  7. Ok, I see, either I need to rephrase (see my disclaimer) or both of you do not really know how to handle python... What I mean: * YOU should supply python with your plugin * @ich777 should delete it from his plugin Yeah, now he says, he needs special modules to be installed for running his application, this shows that you don't know how python works... * there is no difference between a local program and a module! you can simply download the "module" and copy the *.py file into the directory of the application (where his *.py scripts are located). Local files are looked up and used first, then the local module store ("virtual environment") is checked. last are "global" modules checked. So if you "pip install <module>" it just download that module and store it in a certain folder. Copy it out into the program's directory and you are done, no need for "pip" anymore! (of course, if these modules need updates, you have to reload and copy them over manually, but this does not happen very often...) So it is really easy to do a "clean" shipment of "pure" python and "application with modules".
  8. To make it clear: I don't use any of these plugins myself. I once had the need for python, but that is gone already. I am just talking about how to keep a system clean and without interferences like it happened now here. And how to avoid to confuse users. It would be no big deal to tell your "customers" that they need to install python from another source. And I guess, nobody would complain. Its the same like things as nextcloud for instance, that need a additional database to be installed. But then, its your desicion... just my 25cts...
  9. yeah, but I am thinking a few months/years ahead. When versions increase and updates are needed. Its better to have a single point to think of... And, as we can see from the current problem here, no normal person is aware about the coupling now ( I wasn't either, which does not mean a thing, but can be taken as a symptom). So there will be more complains like this. Takes time, needs clearup, some people will become angry or so. Not needed. And having two people working on the same thing (updates) isn't really helpful either. Just a waste of time. Docker are already evil, but a least they seperate their environments from the others. So less interference happens. Plugins should be the same and focus on their single use, not combining stuff that does not directly belong to them.
  10. MAYBE you should think about dropping this version (and pointing to the new plugin instead), OR rework it so it uses a private virtual version? It is not really a good idea to have 2 things doing the same and blocking each other. And its enough that one implementation keeps an eye on updates and so on. As I cannot see any direct connection between ISCSI (besides it depends partly on python) and python itself, I would recommend to delete it from ISCSI and tell the users that for fully operationalbilty they should also install the Python Plugin.
  11. surely not. look elsewhere
  12. So what? Take the messages literally and look into boot/extras. If you find something there either leave it alone (and dont use this plugin), or delete it (if it is called python... somehow, likely an old and outdated version) and rerun the plugin. Simple.
Maximaler Datenverlust wären also weniger als 24h.
  14. NVME mit 2 Lanes: System Shares, Appdata und Co. Ist das dann ein eigener Pool? Jep!
  15. na ja, aus der Anleitung, die @alturismo zitiert hat, geht ja klar hervor: root@swraid:/dev# mdadm --create /dev/md/md_test --level=1 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sdb1 /dev/sdc1 mdadm: Note: this array has metadata at the start and may not be suitable as a boot device. If you plan to store '/boot' on this device please ensure that your boot-loader understands md/v1.x metadata, or use --metadata=0.90 Continue creating array? yes mdadm: Defaulting to version 1.2 metadata mdadm: array /dev/md/md_test started.
  17. Your problem was that you have tried the user "root". This one is forbidden SMB access for all Linux Systems. Any other username will do.
  22. Unlikely. the keyboard and mouse lightshows are detected seperately. Must be something on the motherboard I would say.
  23. I've checked all the logs and settings but cannot find anything wrong. The only "problem" caught is the unreachablilty of the router (checked only on V6,so by turning it off, you just surpress the messages not the culprit). Seems that some devices (LAN Card, some USB Light Stuff (is this a computer or a lightshow in a disco??? 🙂 ) ) dropping off frequently, beeing reset and working again for some minutes. Unlikely that this is a software problem, looks more like the hardware on the mobo is failing now and then. Can be anything from bad capicitor, to bad power supply to... I am afraid, by changing some settings you will not be able to fix this 😞 But you could try to reset the BIOS to defaults (no overclocking and such evil things) and pray.
  24. Too bad, the current logs do not show anything that points to an error. Let the box run untouched until it happens. Then reboot and supply new diagnostics. But my educated guess currently still would be "cabling problem". What kind/brand of switch is the box connected to and what kind of router do you have??? (Its strange to see address leases for V6 given out for only 1 hr. That looks like a mobile connection...)
  25. hmm... what happened at 22:09 yesterday? Did you manually stop the server and (re)configured the LAN settings, or was it a crash?
