  1. Found this on Reddit, hope useful... Commenting on an old thread here, but I've found that drives are not recognized with firmware v20 on the LSI 9201-16e. I downgraded to v15 and that seems to work great (drives are recognized, etc). v16-19 might also work, I don't know - and re-flashing v20 might also work. I used v15 because I had another card with that firmware which has worked very well. Note that you cannot downgrade from v20 from within Windows, Linux, etc. You must use a bootable DOS or EFI shell USB disk and the associated sas2flash utility. And you must first erase the current firmware before flashing different firmware. More info: https://www.broadcom.com/support/knowledgebase/1211161501344/flashing-firmware-and-bios-on-lsi-sas-hbas
  2. Saw something like this somewhere before. Think fix was to verify all virtualization settings in bios are correct.
  3. Xfs for array drives. Btrs or zfs for cache drives. Trim function does not work in array. Keep nvme and ssds as cache pools. Use the nvme as cache to your hdd. Mirroring them would slow it all down to hdd speeds. If this is only a back up machine, maybe skip the nvme and get 2nd hdd and set it up as a single parity with one array drive. (Note parity drive needs to be same or larger than array drives.). I have no opinion on using the SSD externally. Dunno You can setup shares accessible to your network. Unsure if that answers that one. Theres alot to play with in unraid and I am far from an expert. My go-to for info is spaceinvaderone 9n YouTube. https://m.youtube.com/@SpaceinvaderOne Good luck with the new adventure.
  4. The one working at kbps probably something wrong. Post diagnostics and someone is more likely to give you useful feedback.
  5. Pretty brave to OC that processor. If damaged, it cannot be undone.
  6. 70C is a recurring number for max temps on various nvme drives, but as trurl states, best to look it up from manufacturer.
  7. Primary storage should be Array if that's where you want it
  8. There might be some apps that could help. Searching 'speedtest' shows some that might give you some info. They have some network monitor type tools in there too.
  9. If it is working correctly, no benefit I can think of for doing a fresh install.
  10. Check network for IP conflicts.
  11. Swap data and power cables. Also try not to split the power connector. Fingers crossed it's not just dead.
  12. Yes you can write directly to the array drive skipping over cache. That's what I would do.
  13. Have a look at unBALANCE plugin. That should do the trick.
  14. Some things to try: Disable secure boot Disable TPM 2.0 Disable CSM
  15. Ensure bios is updated. Edit: Seeing 13 and 14 gen Intel CPU makes me nervous with failing equipment. If a spare drive, see if you can fire up a different OS and maybe you can glean something from logs. Afraid I got no idea beyond that.
  16. What is the hw you are working with? Maybe some listed bios settings and/or fw versions somewhere that play best with unraid. There's not a lot of puzzle pieces here to work with.
  17. Did it work before or is it a new build? Try a different USB port. Maybe a bios setting. If a new flash drive made no difference then that may not be the problem.
  18. I notice the CPU is an Intel 13900k. Some problems been coming to light with 13 and 14 gen Intel's. Dunno if that's the problem, but barring any other explanation, that could be a good gremlin to blame.
  19. Is Jellyfin storing cover image type things on your nvme? The space should free up when deleting container but may need to manually delete the container files. Those have caused me trouble in the past.
  20. I have used a raid0 for parity and jbod for the rest. Allowed me to double drive size so adding hdds later on I was not confined to 18TB (in my case) drives to add to array. Also speed benefits in certain cases. The downside of course is losing one means loss of parity.
  21. In a home environment running 3 vms (Pfsense, HAOS, and Ubuntu) I saw no difference switching from 128G non ecc to 128G ecc. Used non ecc for 2 years, and have been running ecc for a year now. If the budget is tight, I would skip the change. If down the road you determine it is needed, go for it.
  22. You can choose your interface, default is likely br0. You can also assign an IP. Seems pretty straightforward if not a bit unique.
  23. Probably. I didn't find the airflow requirement or how well the z620 breathes, but it looks like you could put a small fan on it if needed.
  24. The asr 71605 works great with unraid. You NEED to add a small 40mm fan to the heatsink or ensure (I think it is) 200 cfm airflow through a server type chassis. Refreshing the paste or pads is a good idea too.
  25. Is there another port on MB to try hba in?
