That the settings do not persist after I reboot (using the info provided on how to do that a few pages back)

How about using this with btfrs? or should I just use the scrub option on the disks? (anyone know if that is per disk? i'm used to zfs scrubs so seems weird a pool would scrub 1 disk at a time.)

I rebooted and a drive I put into a pool yesterday was showing back up under unassigned devices, while still being in the pool. I tried to stop the array and reboot, and then saw this in the log: I had to shut it down and it made a diagnostics zip; orbitalhub-diagnostics-20230814-0919.zip After restarting the disk was in historical devices and still in the pool, and everything seems fine. Was able to stop array and shut down cleanly.

@ich777 Setting turbo on all my cores manually and using the persist file with; options corefreqk TurboBoost_Enable=1 The cores aren't boosted on restart. Do I need a switch to enable each one? because that's how I turn it on manually, there's an option for each core / or thread. I've noticed after I turn it on, even if I turn it off manually each core seems to stay at max boost, or at least it never drops as low as it did on a clean boot. Edit: I just noticed enabling turbo, my freq doesn't go as high as it used to:

Honestly the whole webui needs a re-work imo, the fact that plugins like this exist is evidence of that. Do we know if anyone is working on that? I do some UX design and would really like to help.

All I did was go to settings > tools > turbo > turned them all on. I have these options on the settings: will turning any of these on help my CPUs performance in any way? Thanks.!

If my server runs fine with boost enabled on all cores 24/7 should I just leave it like that for performance? any way to save the boost config setting on restarts?

I can't stop my pool ever normally for some reason. Found this thread, umount -l /dev/loop2 worked instantly. it's something there anyway. no idea what though.

could it not generate a hash based on the hardware device ID or something of 1 second USB stick only (basically however it identifies the mai none) that ties to your key, and will only work on that second usb stick, while in conjunction with the first? that way you won't get people sharing 1 key to 2 people etc.

oh ok thanks. I was actually wanting to 'preclear' some 8 year old drives and see what happened because they may be dying I'm not sure, what else could I do to sort of stress them and see if they fail?

Is this still the way to preclear? seems awfully convoluted I was hoping it might just be a few gui clicks.

There's lots of tools/apps that put a 'link' in Settings (or.. Tools, or just have a settings page and a port number for you to bookmark and no way to launch them from the webui itself.), and I'm constantly going back and forth trying to find what it is i'm looking for. If the UI has to be messy like this, make it customizable at least for the end user. I'm using ublock and greasemonkey to change a lot of these things myself to make it more usable. Eg here I've blocked these icons as they seemed pointless here; 'I only kept the help icon because it's the only way to easily toggle help on for everything on a page. shouldn't be way up here in the corner next to the notification icon anyway. How about moving it here, and have it toggle the help for the table it's on rather than the entire page too, and have one at the top of each table? For new users especially having it hidden in the top corner of the screen like this is iffy.

When adding a pool, if you type the name in the wrong syntax, you get this big angry popup: Instead it could just not do it, grey out the submit button, and insert some small red text under the name with the "Use only lower~*" text, disappears when you fix the name and lets you click create again. Edit: Settings > Docker and turn on Template Authoring mode should be more clear this is how you enable persistent/default Advanced View also, it would be cool if it told me what shares were deleted afterwards and not just a number of how many.

On TrueNAS you could mirror the boot drive and if one failed the other would boot and it would resilver the first, why can't unraid do that now?

This will not be very organized because i'm super busy but I just wanted to document things I think could be improved or changed to better enhance the UX experience and make things have a better workflow, because sometimes I am scratching my head for an hour wondering what to do when the problem isn't even a problem, for example: So tldr there, the warning window that pops up is too agressive / big / scary looking, when the UNRAid web ui could simply compare and highlight the conflicts like chrome search is doing there, with a "* This entry conflicts with X docker container and must be changed in order to continue" and would have saved me about an hour here. Maybe even don't have the popup window at all, just don't let the create docker button become clickable until the conflicts are resolved. (With a message next to the button explaining why). There's more I will add later from earlier/past few days, and will add more as I go. Data shuffling 75odd TB from ZFS over to btfs on UNRAid, finally free from the shackles of kubernites and to a lesser extent these days, bsd jails.
