  1. I have a Norco RPC-4224 case running with 15 drives and a port on one of the backplanes died. It does seem this company is out of business. This 24 bay case was priced at $399 and anything even close to this capacity is like $700 to $1000. Anyone know of a source that has backplanes? I believe I have version 2.0 of the backplane. Also, can anyone recommend a case that can hold 15-18 drives? I am trying to consolidate/condense but it is a slow process and the largest drive is 10TB. I refuse to start all over again and upgrade my parity to 18TB or larger. Just more money.
  2. BTW, can a MOD please move this thread to the unassigned devices section? Thanks.
  3. Where would I check my sig? I don't see anything that I've added. Getting old, wearing glasses all the time now.
  4. I'll check my signature. I don't see it myself.
  5. Here is my smb-extra.conf file prior to me doing anything. smb-extra.conf
  6. Well, posting the conf file may not help now, unless it is part of my diag zip I grabbed prior to me reinstalling. Yes, I reinstalled unassigned devices and plus and noticed those entries have stopped. Very strange. Let me take a peek in my zip diag file to see if that smb-extra.conf file is there. Funny someone asked to see that, as I was checking out several conf files just to see if anything out of the ordinary was there.
  7. After I uninstalled UNASSIGNED DEVICES these entries stopped filling up my syslog. Any advice?
  8. I have been troubleshooting this, and after I removed UNASSIGNED DEVICES these syslog entries stopped.
  9. My syslog is being filled with this. Some kind of SMB issue. any ideas? 10. First question. Is this docker in forward development and active? Anyone know why none of my containers are not listed in the right column?
  11. Hello. How were you able to get a nice formatted docker log size output like that? UPDATE: I've been reading the DOCKER FAQ's and general use, and it seems that I can probably use the DOCKER command line or execute a command using the docker command. I've used and setup several dockers, not a maniac on having 20 dockers. Just 10 or less and 5 or less are probably running 24/7. I'm gonna keep reading.
  12. Thanks. I'll take a peek at both. I've heard of UUD before, but though it was a little too much. Who knows, maybe I will like it.
  13. Looked over some tools that I have. I have installed the Dynamix tools, but I want to see what specific files are being moved, the speed and what program is moving them. Is there a plugin or docker that would supply realtime information like that giving details on what's happening with all reads/writes, what files and programs are doing it? Right now I'm just looking at the attached plugin, but I need more.
  14. I always buy 7200 speed drives. They are most likely to be faster than the 5400 drives, and most of the time have more cache which does make a difference. I love that speedtest docker myself and I see my 3 5400 drives just need to go! Wish I had the cash to replace them all then the curve on my speedtest report would look some much better.
  15. DO NOT buy that ad on Amazon for tht 5 pack for $350. It is a SCAM. The vendor only sends one out, not 5. And there's nothing special about helium. It will work just as any drive and does not give the drive some amazing force. I have several HGST white label drives. I have a 15 drive array. 10 of them are enterprise 7200 RPM HGST white labels. I looked up what they mean by "enterprise" means superior parts of their cheaper drives and other manufacture drives of the same comparison. Unfortunately WD is ceasing the HitachiGST brand. Too bad. Here is that SCAM listing from Amazon.
  16. Have you tried turning it on via command line terminal? 'ip link set up eth0' or 'sudo ip link set up eth0'. If you happen to turn on the NIC, have some fun with these commands and their switches. ifconfig arp netstat IP address IP route nmap ss And there are plenty more. Some you may need to add. Don't forget the Nerd pack!!!
  17. I think I will buy 2 12TB externals and pull them out.Maybe I'll just return one of them so I don't feel that guilty. Here is the ad on Amazon of that HGST Internal 7200. The price is not bad considering most of the other 12TB drives are much more higher in price. This is a high density. 2.5M MTBF which I really don't believe, but compare it to other advertised MTBF's this is much higher.
  18. WD 12TB Elements External - $229 - Most likely an HST or a RED or similar. WD Internal 12TB HGST ( Western Digital ) Ultrastar Helium drive. Don't get all excited. The Helium is just a word they threw in there. Like when you get air in your tires at the shop and they charge you a little extra for Helium. Means nothing. $270 Ok people, should I be honest and pay the $40 difference or be a criminal and SHUCKEE the external? I have an 8TB drive allocating sectors more and more, so I'll need to get it soon. My parity is only 10TB, so guess what? I would need to swap out my parity and remove the dead 8TB and re-purpose the 10TB. I've upped my parity only 15 times now, so I am getting tired of it but my array is going fast. I have 15 drives 5 of them are 4TB which are slowing me down a lot but out of 88TB total I have 12TB available. More and more 4K content. Specially that beautiful Dolby Vision content. What to do? Buy a couple 12TB externals, get all my $$$ back or give my money out to these price gouging greedy share holders that would cut rations of food on their own kids if it would save them a $1???
  19. Just make sure your onboard NIC is turned on. I would set everything to DHCP, then when you can get into the server you can easily configure the network settings back to what they were. The only thing I do is statically configure my NIC, that's it.
  20. Looking for a plugin or docker that shows what is taking up all the disk space. Graphical pie chart would be nice, or even a file explorer view where you can drill down into sub folders. Two Windows programs I use is WINDIRSTAT and TreeSize. Also, I could not post in the Docker Container folder as it would not let me. I have been looking through the app catalog and can't seem to find anything like that. Thanks!
  21. Yes, I did notice that. Thank you very much! I always try to use DHCP reservation but when I tried to access it via my router that part wouldn't even load! Arghhhh.
  22. I have lost access to all GUI based everything. I want to put unraid in a %100 DHCP environment. To do that, is the network.cfg the only one I need to change? Anyone know the correct syntax for that file?
  23. Correct. If you are streaming from unraid and then even make a small copy on another workstation say goodbye to that original stream. When I want to get ready to watch a movie from Plex, I have to make sure there are no programs scheduled to run or processes going to kick off on unraid.
  24. I don't think my Ethernet drivers are loaded or the UNRAID portal. Here is what happened. I always had a cable modem and a router hooked up. My cable modem started to flake out on me so I ordered another modem from the cable company. I said to myself I'm going to try and use this new modem natively and remove my own personal router and just use the inside capabilities of the modem itself instead of my router. This new modem had a completely different subnet and IP addresses. No big deal, so I decided to use them. The new modem was 10.0.0.1 and used 10.x for everything. The old modem used 192.168.x.x IP addresses but both modem were identical. My UNRAID server was configured to be 192.168.1.253. NOW, I can't even access my UNRAID box because it looks to me the Ethernet drivers don't even load ( no lights ) and the portal is down. For me to access the UNRAID box I have to remove one SFF 8 port card and put a display card there. I went into the network.cfg file, made all the changes and put everything back. Still can't access my unraid box no matter what I do. Going a little crazy here. I really would like to keep the new 10.0.x.x but if I have to switch back I will. Anyone have any recommendations on how to straighten this out. It's a big curve call that came out of the mitt pretty quick. Why didn't my IP's change with UNRAID when I made the changes to the network.cfg file?
