Arubial
I just discovered this plug-in this morning after migrating to a Supermicro X10DRU-i+ a couple months ago. I think I have everything configured properly, but only 2 of the fans are spinning down. I have 4 fans total, the stock ones from SuperMicro. My sensors report the last two fans are on FAN7 and FAN8, which is what I selected, but I cannot get them to spin down at all. Quote Link to comment
The Transplant
I set my fan minimum % to 1.3 and yet the lowest I ever see the fans go is 5250. Since I am not sure what the ratio between temp and fan speed is, I am curious if this is the lowest they will go? Thanks. Quote Link to comment

kennymc.c
Edit: Solved by resetting the BMC and then restarting fan control I am also having problems with all my fans running at full speed after upgrading the BIOS and BMC firmware of my Supermicro board today. See my comment at the top of the post. Where does it show 0 rpm? If I let IPMI control all or some of the fans they will always run at full speed. Even with fan thresholds adjusted my Noctua fans will sometimes report a false rpm to trigger the IPMI fan failure control that lets all fans run at full speed. With this plugin I can set a minimum speed to not trigger this behaviour. With 30% minimum speed they still run at 300 rpm. Seems to be a know problem with this brand. Quote Link to comment

I am going to try tweaking it a little to see if I can get fan noise down a bit. It is sitting in the back of my office. I don't know actually what the operating temps of my drives are - have to open up the box and check the model numbers - will do that but for now just going with an average range. One question - I have 6 mechanical drives and 2 SSD. If I reduced the number of mechanical drives by using less bigger drives would that have much impact on heat? spl147
1 hour ago, The Transplant said: I got the hard drive temp into the green. Thanks. 2024-02-04 19:28:18 Fan:Temp, FAN123456(47%):HDD Temp(44C) 2024-02-04 19:31:19 Fan:Temp, FAN123456(50%):HDD Temp(45C) 2024-02-04 19:58:27 Fan:Temp, FAN123456(47%):HDD Temp(44C) 2024-02-04 icepic0
I've been using your great IPMI plugin for years on a Supermicro SuperStorage (5018A-AR12L with a Super A1SA7-2750F motherboard) server with a Aspeed AST 2400 BMC (gen X7). Yesterday after a full power down to move the server the plugin is no longer reporting any sensors and seems to not be able to access IPMI. I'm running Unraid 6.12.6 and did not update just before this happened. The fans do run based on the simple configuration in the IPMI settings ( The IPMI web interface still works, and shows sensors and values. I have reset the IPMI unit from the web interface, and also done a factory reset of it. I have cleared the CMOS while replacing the battery. It seems that the ipmi tools cannot access the IPMI system. Trying tools I get ipmi-detect: Cannot connect to server ipmi-sensors Caching SDR repository information: /root/.freeipmi/sdr-cache/sdr-cache-unraid1.localhost cipmi_sdr_cache_create: internal IPMI error and all the commands other than ipmi-detect seem to time out I've noticed two other odd issues, that seem to have started at the same time, but do not know if they are related. The only red reading is VBAT showing "Lower Non-recoverable", even after replacing the CMOS battery. And the iKVM input (keyboard and mouse) are not working, even using the virtual keyboard. Any other things I should check or do? Has anyone seen this behavior before? Thank you very much. My system does seem to be recognized by the plug in as it says Motherboard and Model: Supermicro A1SA7 Gen:1 Here's some screen shots of my IPMI details and what I'm seeing in the plugin Quote Link to comment
Elmojo
I'm having a similar issue as @icepic0, except that I can't connect at all. I can open the settings for the plugin, but it won't connect, and I see no sensor data. I've changed nothing, except for standard plugin and docker updates. Yesterday the system crashed and won't even boot to post anymore. I think it's a motherboard problem as even swapping memory and unplugging everything it will not get to POST and will reset after a few minutes. Quote Link to comment
sauerm
I get connection to and data from IPMI but now the "fan control" tab is gone Cant find a setting to bring it back. Isnt the board supported? Quote Link to comment

The plugin worked perfectly for over 2 year before this has happened recently. I tried to install the previous version by dmacias, but it`s too old and isn`t loading correctly (I'm using unRAID 6.12.8) and dmidecode returns correct information (same as before) Edited February 21 by Denisy Quote Link to comment
